I can't find Android Auto on the playstore on my phone, and when I go to the playstore from my PC it tells me that "This app is incompatible with all of your devices."
Is it really incompatible, or maybe this is because Android Auto is not yet available in my country?

As far as I can tell the only requirements for the app itself is android lollipop and above so it probably is geo restricted
Since I don't have your device anymore I can't check
I have included the app in the attachment below though for you to install yourself
It is compatible, I am using it and installed it from play store. Maybe clear the Play store cache? AS pointed out you can also just install the apk (also from apkmirror)
Thanks. Are you using it with the G5 or the G5 Plus?
What is strange is that it is telling me that it is incompatible with my device, and not that it is not available in my country, as it happens with some other apps.
Is it is safe to install it with an .apk, and would I receive updates if I do it that way?

The apk I posted was downloaded by myself from the playstore so totally safe
You would only get updates if It is available in your playstore & even then you may have to uninstall & reinstall depending on app signatures if different in different locations

Thanks. If I can get confirmation that it should work with the moto g5 (not the plus) then I will try it out.
Any reason why Google would have country restrictions on Android Auto? The cars are the same, the apps (maps, music etc) work fine, so why place restrictions on Android Auto? Apple doesn't seem to have any such restriction with Car Play (in my country at least)

Why do you need confirmation to try it? Just try it - it will either install or say app not installed
Like I said the only min requirements is lollipop so no reason why the app won't install
Some apps maybe geo restricted for licensing purposes - if Googling why the app isn't available in your country doesn't come up with anything the only thing you can do is contact the app developer

Lol by all means scan it - decompile it & check it
If you know my reputation around here you know I provide support
I used to be a recognised contributor but left xda for a while
Also I provided the official twrp for this device
So looking through my past posts/threads you will see the kind of support I provide
Of course, I mean you work on twrp for g5 and yet someone still manages to be suspicious
I am not suspicious I just want to know if it actually works! If this is not a country thing, maybe they marked this phone as incompatible for a good reason. I don't yet have a car with Android Auto so I can't fully test it now. Maybe it would run on the phone itself, but then fail to connect to the car (I've seen reports of this happening for several phones including different versions of the Moto G). Or maybe there is some other kind of bug that only shows up once connected to a car...

The only person that can answer your question would be the app developer
Would be quicker & easier to test yourself as the chance of someone with a moto g5 & the car you might have with android auto support would be highly unlikely
In these situations it's always better to just try yourself or contact the app developer for support
I installed the apk that TheFixItMan has provided and it works fine, on both the phone and a car I tried it with for a few minutes. Thanks!
As it was said previously I can't update Android auto from the play store now, so I assume at some point it might stop working properly. Should I just get a new apk every time I need an update?

Yes just get the latest apk
As long as it's just the version that is on the playstore (unmodified) like I provided you can just update it without having to uninstall previous version

Hi All,
I've recently been able to root my Galaxy Folder 2 (SM-G1650), but had to downgrade to Marshmallow to do it. The only firmware version available is for China-based phones. I've been able to remove all the bloatware, but the Samsung Browser that's installed is the China version, with China-based search engines, and a specific Chinese-language home page.
I've tried removing the system-installed browser, and installing both from Playstore, as well as sideloaded APK. It still gives me the China version of the browser each time. I'm assuming it's something to do with the region/locale/IMEI of the phone being China based. Oddly enough, my Playstore region is US.
Does anyone know how to get the international version of the browser installed? I have full root, and can change whatever is needed in the system directory/build.prop/etc.
Thanks!
Cheerio!
I'm new with android (10y with iOS) so maybe it's basic question, but I didin't find solution in google.
How can I update Samsung apps from site like apkmirror? I got Galaxy S9 and every time when I try to install apk dowloaded to device I see error ”application not installed”. Device’s DPI, architecture, screen size are compatible. For example today update „Always on screen” from Samsung version 4.1.66, mine is 4.1.37. Everything else not from Samsung update correctly. Cheers!

You cannot update Samsung system apps like that, used to be a workaround with Nougat but was patched in Oreo and above (Non Samsung apps should still work)
Hello everyone,
Recently I have been experimenting with custom ROMs on my Samsung phone and was very unpleasantly surprised to find that Samsung does not allow my Galaxy Watch to be used with modded Samsung phone... Yeah, I know there's the option to replace manufacturer and brand in build.prop, however I don't like the idea of unnecessarily modifying the system just for a couple of proprietary apps, so instead I took the approach of patching the apps to make them work with the phone again.
All that needed to be done was patch manufacturer and brand to static string(s). Here's a command to do just that:
Bash:
find . -type f -name "*.smali" -exec sed -i 's/sget-object \(v\|p\)\(.\+\), Landroid\/os\/Build;->\(MANUFACTURER\|BRAND\):Ljava\/lang\/String;/const-string \1\2, \"letitbeheardthisphoneistobetreatedasifitwereofabranddifferentfromtheonestartingwiths\"/g' "{}" \;
Patching the apps, however made the shealth app refuse communication with the wearable app due to mismatching signing certificates and it needed to be patched too. It is possible to either completely bypass signature checking or insert custom certificate - I have attached a patch that does just that.
You can (and probably should) do this yourself if you want to use the modified applications. Just decompile apks with apktool, apply the command in the directory with the apps content (it is necessary for Galaxy Wearable, Samsung Accessory and Galaxy Watch Plugin apps), and insert you own custom certificate into Galaxy Watch Plugin (attached patch - just replace the cert with your custom one). If you use Samsung Health, just replace the certificate string with hex-encoded certificate you used to sign the apps in the attached patch and apply it to the app. Then rebuild the apps and sign using the key whose certificate you just inserted into the apps.
Although you should never trust a random stranger on the internet with apps you install, I understand not everyone wants to go through this process themselves, so hereby I solemnly promise there is no malicious code inserted into the provided apks. And here's the link
App Versions:
Samsung Accessory (com.samsung.accessory): 3.1.94.11128
Galaxy Wearable (com.samsung.android.app.watchmanager): 2.2.42.21083061

No idea what you're talking about. My watch works fine with my note 10+ using Dr ketan rom.
Same with Alexis. I just hide it with magisk but it was working just fine before that.

I was talking about AOSP-based ROMs. Generally, I build and sign the ROM whenever possible and so I don't find it necessary to root my devices. Also I don't like the idea of making changes to mask the actual device and when the app is used with Samsung phone, it relies on proprietary interfaces implemented only in Touchwiz, which are not available in AOSP. Since it is an app issue, it makes sense to make changes on the app level instead of the system level.

Now I'm searching a way to get Samsung shealth 6.15.1.003 get working with data sync. To be honost i dont really understand how to patch this way. Could somehone explain me what to do? Samsung health is already decompiled with APK Easy Tool. Thanks in Advance
Hallo sir can you update the files or explain a bit further how to do it by ourselves
Could you be more specific. I want to try it but I dont understand how to doit. some one knows how to patch these apks. ? you tube video? thanks.
hi sir, thank you for your hard work. looks good and might be what i wanted. just rooted my phone and i cant seem to pair my gear sport with my rooted S20+.
Do i just install the apk like normal, running it in file manager? or do i need to flash it in through custom recovery?
fwiw i use an Active 2 with a rooted Pixel 2 XL, and dont need any of that and have ECG/BP and Samsung Pay working. Only modified thing is the Samsung Health monitor app on the phone, modded to not detect root or require a Samsung Phone, thats it....
I own a s5neo with lineage 17.1 and I had the same problem as reported, galaxy wearable identified my phone as modified/rooted and exited. Using your apk I was able to launch the app but it fails to install the galaxy buds live plugin, only shows a message that failed to install.
I don't know how to do the patch and I would like to know if you can generate a patched apk for buds live plugin (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.samsung.accessory.neobeanmgr&hl=en_GB)
thanks in advance
Can I use it for Spay?

To anyone coming across this post who wants to do this themselves, I've made a little guide and some tools here: https://github.com/adil192/SamsungAppsPatcher.
I've also attached the apks I've patched if you don't want to do it yourself (since the ones in OP didn't work for me) here: https://mega.nz/folder/sUFj2C5b#M4zEP-c9ylY-ENxPw7qCUQ. Like OP, I promise I haven't added malware in this.
Edit: I've somewhat automated the process now so if anyone wants me to patch another plugin, just @ me and I'll get it added as soon as possible.

I need assistance with the gear s3plugin apk please.
Got it working..thanks
Would this process work to enable the Galaxy Wearable App to connect if using non-uk galaxy buds live? My app sets up the buds live but then fails to connect, even though Bluetooth connects and buds function.
Samsung have advised I have a Vietnamese version of the buds live which are not compatible with the Galaxy Wearable App in the UK.
Hi guys, just a heads up. Today my European device got the global update to android 12 (MIUI Global 13.1.2). I loved this tablet due to the Xiaomi PC mode app, but unfortunately since updating to android 12 when I try to launch PC mode I receive a message that the app is incompatible with the current system version and to update it. I'm using the latest release (12.1.208.5). This is just a warning if anyone relied heavily on PC mode like I did, you may want to hold off on updating. If anyone has any tips on a possible workaround that would be appreciated. Thanks.
Hey, just noticed that too.
As I understand it the pc mode APK comes from the Mi Mix Fold which also just now got updated to android 12, so it's just a matter of picking up the new APK from that rom.
Good to know, fingers crossed someone grabs and shares that soon.

Following up on this. I downloaded the android 12 image for the mix fold and dumped the payload. Surprisingly there is no PC mode apk anywhere. It's also concerning that on the mix fold 2 they have scrapped pc mode and no included it. Perhaps it's discontinued which is a shame.
Well the PC mode for some reason included the free use of MS office apps. Now that was either a mistake or an agreement between the two companies.
So it appears that X doesn't want to continue this situation, either too expensive or offering access to things that they shouldn't have.
Although this doesn't exclude that X will at some point offer this functionality again by itself, without the office perks.

Doesn't appear to be I'm afraid. A new version of the application doesn't seem to exist, even on the phone it was originally designed for.
Well it appears there is some kind of trigger in the new Rom that it makes it incompatible.
I don't know if it works on custom ROMs, but it should have some dependancies to other X files and libraries and in one or more of them this trigger must reside.
so, maybe have to revert back to previous firmware... i used that APK frequently....

I'm not sure you can as it's gone from android 11 to 12
If possible then can anyone just try tweaking Android version and api version in system/default.props may be that would make Android 11 apk work or if anyone knowledgeable try changing the target version in apk it self... I have redmi pad and no pc mode for it just sucks....
