I am running SkyRaider 2.5.2 and i recently added some of the goodies included in the Rom Manager. I thought i would really enjoy the 'Wake with Trackball' feature, however, i don't like how it also uses the volume buttons and it bypasses the lock screen.
I like the lock screen and allowing all the buttons to wake the phone makes it a lot more vulnerable to "butt dialing"
So (a) is there anyway to just wake with the trackball and keep the lock screen and (b) if not, how do i revert to my old SkyRaider Settings??
Thanks

Not sure (probably so) if anyone has found or noticed, but the lockscreen is easily bypassed on some builds. My build is HTC TP2(TMO) Energy ROM OS version 5.2.23569(23569.5.5.0), Manilla version 2.5.20121225.0.CFC, ROM version 28.MAY.2010 WWE, Radio 4.49.25.91 . With the latest 1.8.0 CoOKie home tab, plus 1.8 CHT. Upon hitting the power button to turn on the phone and activate the lock screen, you can just "slide" the phone open to expose the keyboard, close it again and...tahdah! You now have access to the Menu button in which you can change lockscreen settings or any other setting for that matter. I am not sure which software is the culprit, just wanted to give a heads up. Kind of defeats the purpose of having the lockscreen at all. Thank you for your time, and great programming work!

Why Do All Of The First Letters Of Your Words Start With Caps?
Does it really matter what ROM you're using? I downloaded 'Power Controls' by Painless Death off of Snappz. Works for me. They all do the same thing.
I used to mostly use the built-in CM power widget when I was on CM7, then when I went to CM9/10, those kinda lost the customizability they had in CM7. Then I realized that you can just stick tons of power widget options in the notification bar, which I LOVE now, since I can access every power option I want from wherever (not needing to go back to the homescreen). I used to think that only 4 buttons could fit in there, but I recently found out that it will fit 6 buttons at a time, and if you put more than 6 buttons in the notification bar power widget, then it becomes side-to-side scrollable, which is awesome. This also has the added benefit of not needing to download external apps to just have a power widget. I'm sure some of those have advanced capabilities than I'm unaware of, but the notification drawer options are pretty all-encompassing.
The set of options I've got in the notification drawer (in order) is:
-Sound
-Brightness
-Wifi toggle
-GPS toggle
-Bluetooth toggle
-LED flashlight toggle
-Orientation toggle
Hope that gives you some ideas!
Hi guys i would like to know if there is a way to unlock htc one x just by sliding on the three buttons on the screen. By the way im using viper x rom 3.4.2, i've noticed there is a slide2unlock feature in venom tweaks but it only wakes the display basically its like pressing the power button and it doesn't unlock the phone.
Some roms have swipe/slide to unlock which is what you're looking for rather than swipe to wake, which would probably be the kernel, I can't remember which ones though...If you have lyapota's mod you can set longpress home to unlock, if that's any use

it actually has an option slide2unlock but it only wakes the phone up and it doesn't unlock it, the phone behaves just like when i click on the power button, which is of no use.. It would be way cooler if i could just slide/swipe and unlock the phone
Go to lockscreen settings and select no lockscreen. (on AOSP it works like that)
One possibility is to rename /system/app/htclockscreen.apk (or similar) to htclockscreen.bak. That way the lockscreen should be gone but I don't know how it would affect receiving calls.
Have been using Sense 5 Toolbox for some time.
With latest version of Sense 5 Toolbox, I set long-press home (home assist) to "Go to sleep" so that I can save some life of my power button.
And it doesn't work under lockscreen (long-press home button under lockscreen simply does nothing).
In recent Sense 5 Toolbox 2.1.1 changes, home assist will supposedly dismiss the lockscreen, which is great!
But it still doesn't, at lease on my One X, nothing happens when long-press home under lockscreen.
Since the toolbox is developed for HTC One, so maybe there's some different behavior between One and One X regarding the home assist under lockscreen? Or is it just me who have this problem with One X?
Any ideas would be appreciated.
where did you get sense 5 toolbox? I can't find it on play store
Edit: forget it, just realised its an exposed module
Looking for 5x5 TW launcher for S3 /4.3 /MK6
& a LED flashlight mod usable when the screen is off
If anyone is aware of a working 5x5 launcher for 4.3 /MK6 I'd really appreciate hearing about it.
I've grown used to having a 5x5 home screen launcher.. then had to replace my S3 phone (4.1.2). Which means that I'm now stuck with Android 4.3 where a lot of my mods no longer work and the OS can't be reverted to an earlier version. I've tried a dozen 5x5 and 5x6 launchers, including some labeled as 4.3/MK, but they cause the dreaded "unfortunately process x has stopped" messages or boot loops on my S3.
And I'm also trying to find a flashlight /LED /torch app that can be used when the screen is off. One where the LED can be turned on by a long press of the home button or ideally the home button + volume key. I did find a shake to turn on the LED in the play store. But shaking a phone seems odd to me and I'd worry about the LED accidentally turning on too. I've tried some long press volume key mods that either don't work at all or freeze and require a reboot to turn the LED off. A long volume press mod would interfere with music player track skip too.
I just finished installing several ROMs that claim this feature only to find that the listed LED feature hasn't been implemented yet and that minor detail wasn't noted on the list of ROM features. Okay. Maybe there is a button remapper app that I could use in conjunction with the shake the phone mod? I've just started searching to see if there are any remapping mods that might do this.
Great forum and I really appreciate the work that enthusiasts do here.
And thank you in advance if anyone knows where I might find either mod.
