the row of bottom leds wont turn off at all, unless the battery is out of the phone, or it is off. What should i do to fix this?! I intend to flash a new rom in a few hours.

When are they supposed to be on? If not how do you turn them on?
My buttons don't seem to turn on anymore when the screen is turned on. It seems to turn on randomly with no real patterns? Could it be my rom? (DC 3.1?)
What is the default expected behavior? I'll RUU to stock and test if someone can describe the default/expected behavior.
I believe if the screen is in, they should be on. If they aren't, then it's probably just something in the ROM. Post in the devs thread that you're having issues. Also, might want to test it out by applying some other ROM rather than going back to stock and re-rooting.
Actually they typically are on when the screen is on but it also uses the ambient light sensor. If the phone detects there is a lot of light, then the capacitive buttons will either not turn on or turn off if they were on.
Mine go on with the screen while off the charger. On the charger they stay off ( when the screen comes on), unless I toggle them on by taking it off the charger then back on. Once on they stay on even on the charger.
i have just installed cm7 on my phone.. and i dont want to have the led light on during charging.. I tried to search the settings but it seems that there is no such thing.. Anyone where does the setting located or is there any other way to turn off the led during charging?

There is no option to turn the LED off while charging. But I believe in the next public version there will be an option to turn the LED off.

Why do u need that ?
Are you afraid that your phone suddenly dead or can't wake up ?
Don't worry, I very happy when my phone is in deep sleep. And never worry that it is suddenly OFF.
My understanding, the LED is functioned as a reminder when there's a msg coming (from any kind of apps), or low battery, or charging, or fully charged.
Light manager also I can't find any function that you need.

When i have my smart stay enabled, and when i, for example, leave my phone on table beside me, not looking at it at all, screen is not turning off.. I have my screen timeout set to 30 seconds, and it is not turning off when i have smart stay enabled... Sometimes it turns off,and sometimes not.. I really like smart stay, and i dont want to turn it off, but im irritated because sometimes i just forget to push power button to turn screen off, and it stays on...
Any one got same problem or solution for this ?
You need to turn it off manually sometimes. Smart stay works so well that it will stay on in my truck at the lock screen even with sunglasses on. Small nuisance for how well it works when there is enough light. Doesn't bother me at all.

so this has been my backup phone for a couple years. my main phone just died so now im using this. I did the system update to 10. And from what ive read, ambient display no longer works. The screensaver only works when phone is charging. I tried the Always On app, and while it did give me a clock on screen while phone screen is off, it just sat in the middle of the screen, even though it was set to jump, then slide. the time never moved and i dont want that, it will burn the screen.
So is there a way to get the screensaver to work when screen is off? instead of only when its plugged in. I dont want to have to pick up or turn the phone on just to see the time.
Custom rom only, but your battery will take a hit.
