YOU MUST HAVE A SWYPE.APK LOCATED IN /SYSTEM/APP/ FOR THIS METAMORPH TO APPLY!
To summarize, when you type "ls /system/app" in your terminal on your phone, you should see a "Swype.apk" file located there. If not, go to the instructions right after this notice in the post.
====Theme Application Instructions============
You MUST have this file: /system/app/Swype.apk
The theme is designed to apply to Galaxy S phones where we already have a Swype.apk located there. If you are using an installed version, follow these steps to determine how to continue from here:
In Terminal type:
Code:
ls /system/app/
If you don't see a Swype.apk or a com.swype.android.inputmethod.apk listed, then type this:
Code:
ls /data/app/
If you still don't see a Swype.apk or a com.swype.android.inputmethod.apk, you're in the wrong thread
If you found that your Swype file is located in the system directory, then you are 3/4 of the way to being prepared for a metamorph theme. If this is you, but your file is named com.swype.android.inputmethod.apk, check the next step to get set up to apply the morph.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
In order for the morph to apply, the file HAS to be named Swype.apk.
So, to get to that point, do this:
In Terminal:
Code:
su
cp /system/app/com.swype.android.inputmethod.apk /system/app/Swype.apk
Now that you have the Swype.apk in your /system/app/ directory, continue on to the theme application step.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
If you are not one of the lucky ones to have Swype in your /system/app/ directory and it is in your /data/app/ directory, follow these steps to allow the file to be themed by metamorph:
In Terminal:
Code:
su
cp /data/app/com.swype.android.inputmethod.apk /system/app/Swype.apk
or
Code:
su
cp /sd-ext/app/com.swype.android.inputmethod.apk /system/app/Swype.apk
Basically, we want to get a copy of the Swype file in the /system/app/ directory, with the EXPLICIT name of Swype.apk, so that the theme will read it and apply it accordingly. Once you have done this, move onto the next step.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
APPLYING THE THEME
Now that you have a Swype.apk file in your /system/app/ directory, it's time to apply the Metamorph. If you have read this far, I'm assuming you already know how to use this application, so go through the usual steps and apply the theme, TWICE, ALWAYS TWICE!
If you have a themed Swype.apk, then you are ready for the next step, which will be replacing the normal Swype with the themed Swype.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
For those with Swype in /system/app/ :
Code:
su
mv /system/app/Swype.apk /system/app/com.swype.android.inputmethod.apk
Then Reboot.
For those with Swype in /data/app/ :
Code:
su
mv /system/app/Swype.apk /data/app/com.swype.android.inputmethod.apk
Then Reboot
==============================
Ok, in an effort to consolidate all of my threads in the Galaxy S forums, I am posting my WVGA Swype theme work here.
Most of the time I have to apply these themes twice in order for them to work correctly, so instead of getting ahead of yourself, or skipping over instructions in the OP, just APPLY THE THEME TWICE.
The images are only samples, and the on screen view is much clearer.

Wooo! Thanks. Grabbing the HTC look, love it.
yea thanks for the works dude. it would be cool if there was a transparent theme. hehe
This may be an obvious question, but will this work with a Samsung Galaxy S i9000 (I noticed you have a Vibrant)?
im using i9000 and it works! no worries
sorry mate, these dont work as per screenshots for my Galaxy S (UK) International
pretty much everything is fine except the 'swype' logo is off the screen nearly, and the quality of the graphic/s arent as good as the stock one
thanks, i hope your stock link thats provided is actually default!

Which theme are you using? any additional information could help me fix it and allow it to display properly. It could be that the "Swype" logo down at the bottom is a little too large, might need to be resized.
All the themes I have posted here are simply metamorphs. I extracted the images from the Swype.apk that came with the Vibrant/GalaxyS phones, and built a theme around it. So yes, it's stock.
Awesome! Thanks for these. Totally *loving* the NakedSwype theme right now, and this is my very first experience with MetaMorph too!
Yip
Will try later today but oh noes no more quick smiley face button !
Thanks. Awesome job.

ehhh... most of these themes have support for QWERTY layouts only, and only a couple have AZERTY layouts. as far as russian and cyrillic, I'm not sure i've even seen an example of swype working in russian lol
the vibrant theme can't be default as I installed that thinking it would go back to stock, and the logo where the I button is, is not on the screen fully
Id say it isn't an issue eh the logo being too big, but more to do with the 'i' and the top padding that's on the logo?
I'd really appreciate being able to go back to stock asap, and will def go back to your themes once rutter issue is sorted

This doesn't seem to work on swedish qwerty, probably due to it having a different layout because of åäö. Would be awesome if you could make a naked black SE version. Thanks

Well, to be honest, as soon as I set up my phone after reflashing, wipes, etc. I always set up Swype as it is my primary software on the phone that I use. That flashing "i" logo you are talking about annoys me from the beginning, so I just disable it. Have you tried doing that yet? It really serves little purpose I think, it only gives you hints and tells you when a word could be translated as something else.

*Latest Update 8/12/09*
I have completed theming the blue framework (for the most part) and have released a update.zip (available below). I have yet to find out how to replace sd apps using the update-script so this is a full rom, not a lite theme update. Because of this, be sure to backup before flashing.
Some of the .9.png's were rushed and do not look so good (mainly a few buttons, stars, and text boxes) but I will be fixing theese soon. If you don't mine a few graphical glitches, go ahead and flash it, if you do then don't complain about them.
Also it should be noted that I have updated the Rosie_Colors.zip to include Rosie_White.apk. This is a white rosie with black icons. There is a problem though that I have yet to find out how to edit the xml files to change the text from whit to black. As a result the text "Phone" and "All Programs" do not show well but overall it is still very nice looking. Because of the XML editing, I will not do anymore work on white rosie untill I figure out the XML files.
So enjoy the new updates everyone! There is A LOT more to come!
Original Post
I've grown tired of the black and green HTC look of Rosie and have decided to add a bit of color to the mix.
This theme is very early in development but I thought I would release my current Rosie.apk's so that everyone can comment, suggest, and critique my work. Currently only Rosie.apk is skined in four different colors and there is much more to come.
And so without further ado, Screenshots!

All four Rosie's have been built from the latest Rosie.apk in JACxHero1.2 and have been tested on my phone. Though they may work on other Hero roms it should be noted that I have not tested them and as such, can not be confirmed as working. If you do not want to risk breaking your current rom, push the apk to JACxHero1.2 only.
The apk's are confirmed working on:

I do have plans on doing other colors such as white, brown, orange, and pink but this is my first time theming a rom and I'm still learning. I'll be sticking with these 4 for now since they're basically 4 different themes and take a bit of time to do.

I'm going to attempt to do the whole rom, or at least rosie and framework-res so we can have matching buttons and notification bars.
Just flash the blue rosie, looks very nice. Only suggested white because it would go with most wallpapers...
YOu beat me to the punch! I was just thinking yesterday that I wanted to create a green styled theme for rosie and move to the framework!
Nice work!
I love the blue Rosie! Here is a screenshot!

Just out of curiousity, Where in the framework folder would I look to change the colors?
Question
OP, is it st8 if I post some of the rosie.apk's I've put together here? Since you were on the topic I figured I would just leave screenshots here whenever I did anything. Don't want to hijack your thread or anything, Its just my stuff is kinda spread around between different threads and I didn't want to have to start a thread of my own. If not, its cool anyway.

If you plan on maintaining the theme and upgrading it with every new rom release, I don't see why it's so hard to make a thread of you're own.
If you dont plan on maintaining it and the theme was just a one time deal, then it may be better to post it on the Hero Skinning thread located here.
I rather you not post it here so people will not confuse you're theme with mine and vice versa.
Thanks to everyone for the comments. I should be starting on the framework today! Here's some screenshots of what I have done so far. Please feel free to comment if you see something you don't like/want to suggest while I'm still in the creation process.

[THEME-Apr24] ⋮░⋮ PCB Blue v1.8.2 ⋮░⋮ Circuit Boards! - for AOKP b34/M4 (GSM + LTE)
⋮░⋮ PCB Blue v1.8.2 ⋮░⋮
Updated on 04-24-2012 (mm/dd/yyyy)
for AOKP_b34/m4
Hi all! I have been a proud owner (and still am actually) of an HTC Desire, ASUS Transformer TF101, and now the Samsung Galaxy Nexus (GSM). On each of these devices, I've created a properly-built theme based on my PCB image.
This theme for the GNex is my newest, and based/influenced by my original PCB Sense (v2.x) Theme and PCB Blue for Prime! on the TF101. I'm happy with how it turned out, so I wanted to offer it up to all the fellow XDA users!
Supported Devices:
Galaxy Nexus GSM (maguro)
Galaxy Nexus CDMA (toro)
ASUS Transformer (tf101) (coming soon)
Couple of things to note:
ONLY for AOKP_b34/m4! (older versions are archived). You can try it on other ROMs, but this theme was built from AOKP sources.
*NOTE* - You must choose "CircleMOD" in Settings --> ROM Control --> Battery --> Battery Icon Style to see custom icons, otherwise stock is used
This design was meant to be quite close to stock for those who dig the ICS UI, but want something a bit unique
It is currently a work-in-progress, and will evolve over time. I hope to keep adding more and more...
Please do not ask for too many new feature requests. I am quite a busy dood, and this is still the early days of ICS. I will definitely update it when I can, but I have been making Android themes for a while, and it becomes quite tedious and time consuming to create new .zips/.apks for each and every ROM release. I will certainly do my best though!
I have edited a lot of images with utmost care and attention to detail including those precious draw9patch ones
CHANGE LOG is below
Screenshots:
These are some of the graphic components I built and used in this theme (more actual screenies coming soon):

Downloads + Change Log + MD5 Checksums :
* IMPORTANT * - Do NOT flash this theme immediately after flashing a ROM/gapps/kernel etc., as it will cause issues. If you flash a fresh ROM, boot into it fully, then reboot to Recovery, wipe Dalvik-Cache, then install my theme by itself. Reboot one final time and you should be good to go!
Everything is now at the PCB Theme mini-site
Don't forget that you can use the included PCB Theme Companion App to check for new versions easily on your phone (just click "Website")
Simply scan the QR code below with your phone for the fastest way to download (just don't forget to remember it's location when flashing! It's usually /sdcard/Download):
(*NOTE* - if you DL on your GNex and end up with a '.bin' extension, just rename it to '.zip', check MD5, and flash in CWM)
» PCB Theme Mini-Site »
[qrcode]"http://pcb.pla.bz/devices"[/qrcode]
Installation:
First off, ensure that you're running AOKP_b34/m4, then simply download the flashable .zip below, save it to your /sdcard folder, enter ClockworkMod Recovery (hold Vol_Down + Vol_Up + Power on fresh bootup, then press Up a few times to highlight "Recovery", then press Power) and choose "Install .zip from sdcard", then browse to where you saved the file. I'd also recommend doing a wipe of the Dalvik-Cache. That's it!
Uninstall/Removal:
It would be double the work for me to provide another .zip to revert files, so what I would recommend is that you just extract your original /system/app/SystemUI.apk and /system/framework/framework-res.apk from your original ROM .zip and drop them in a copy of my theme .zip, overwriting them. Simply enter Recovery and flash that .zip which should revert ONLY those 2 files. I'd also recommend doing a wipe of the Dalvik-Cache.
BONUS Wallpapers:
official_pcb_wallpapers-v1.0-scar45.zip 7.64mb (Max Compression)
(thanks/credit to iteppo on deviantArt for the wallies below)
if you like it... (I would greatly appreciate that!!) otherwise, a click of the THANKS button is awesome!
Disclaimer:
Flash this at your own risk! I am NOT responsible for any damage, however I do use it myself and always perform a NANDROID backup + Dalvik wipe before installing. Also, PM me before you rip out any of my resources if you wanted to use them in your own theme/project. I can be accommodating so long as you get in touch first!
Credits and thanks to some of the resources used go out to:

Some other icons were obtained at IconFinder
nice theme will try out.
Gonna try this too. Thanks.

Just installed a little while ago. Quite like it so far, nice subtle theme, but that's a good thing for me since I like the ICS style. Thanks for this.
Thanks to all of you guys for giving it a shot I am still planning on making improvements as time goes on, but I'd love to hear any feedback, either good, bad, or suggestions for the future.
Again, hope you enjoy the work I put in to this!

Hey Collin, I probably could, however as I just got my Nexus and am using b26, I just released this version initially. I am not sure what the roadmap for the AOKP ROMs are (i.e. when the next Milestone will be coming), so I may just wait for M4.
Otherwise, I have been using b23/25/26 for about 1.5 weeks and haven't had any issues, so I might recommend you upgrade to b26 (it even has some great new features over M3). Of course, if you do a Nandroid and then try it out, you'll have nothing to lose!
As this is the first release, more will come, and I will do my best to support as many ROM versions as I can (which can be a handful for someone like me with little time...trying to run my own business and it takes a LOT out of me!).
Cheers!
Awesome Looking theme, What r the chances of seeing it in Red?

Possibly in due time, but I actually first need to get it to a state where all of the resources that I wanted to edit are in fact 'final'. At that point I would then take the collection and apply different colour schemes. I did it for my PCB Sense version, however it was one of the last steps after I had created everything in green. Sooo, not ruling it out, but most likely not any time soon.

Kick ass KD! I was hoping to hear/see some of the TF101 crew who also snagged the GNex. Thanks for giving good use to my themes, and also for the feedback. You're right, I did ask for +/-, and I actually do agree with you on the status bar icons. I know they don't really fit into the super clean modern look of ICS, but my geek nostalgia forced me to use them, as I have been doing so since my Desire days. That, and the fact that I wasn't feeling very creative to think hard about it I'll be honest I did design the Wifi icons from scratch though (notice how you didn't specifically mention those?), so I'll try to do the same thing again for the battery/BT/cell ones after getting my creative smok, err, juices flowing again I've got some ideas...
Thanks again fellas, already 236 downloads in less than a day! \o/ (is that good or bad? I dunno, still cool tho!)
awesome looking theme
love the subtle pcb design. Maybe u could change the softkeys up a little.
Would there be any issues if i flash other softkeys over it? will the animation be overwritten?

Thanks klyzon! Really glad you are liking the theme.
In terms of the softkeys, if the package that installs them replaces SystemUI.apk (just have a look in the .zip), then you will most likely lose many parts of my theme (I have modded both SystemUI.apk and framework-res.apk). I will consider building different collections of .apks with different softkeys, but again, this is just the first release of my theme, so that may happen in the future.
Otherwise, if you (or anyone else) do see different softkeys that you want to use, post a link in this thread and I'll ask the dev/themer of those images if I would be allowed to use them in a version of my theme.
** EDIT ** - I just checked one of packages from this thread --> [SOFTKEYS] Softkey Collection 2.0 [GSM/CDMA] [Update 08-02] by atticus182 and he actually provides a .zip with PNG images! This is great because it will allow you to take my SystemUI.apk and merge in those PNGs so you can ONLY replace the softkeys. You'll just need to extract my SystemUI.apk somewhere temporary, pop in the PNGs to the correct place (/res/drawable-xhdpi) and then drag that modified SystemUI.apk back into my .zip flash package. Also, the PCB pattern behind the softkeys is kept in 2 PNGs from my SystemUI.apk, namely "ic_sysbar_highlight.png" and "ic_sysbar_highlight_land.png", so just don't overwrite those and you'll be good to go!
Please do let me know if you've tried that, and how it works out for you. It would be great to have a UOT Kitchen type of webapp to build custom themes, but I don't have the know-how to build this for PHP/.net/etc...Anyways, hope this helps in the meantime!
Hey all!
I've just updated the PCB theme to v1.1.0 which is based on AOKP b27. I am running it right now, and it's working (and looking! ) great!
I have also added a few more features/skinned elements, and I'll work on making up a couple of screenies right now.
Anyways, please test it out if you're on AOKP b27 (which is amazing btw), and let me know what you think. Cheers and thanks!
Installed and very nice.

actually, i kinda dislike the top bar being in pcb design, the old black bar suits it better, more subtle imho

Thanks for the feedback Sleeepy2, however it is very hard to cater to each individual need (as mentioned in the OP). I did not make ALL spinner animations blue because the Android system has 2 by default (black and white). I simply made the black ones blue, and left the white...well, white.
As for the lock screen lock icon, I will also leave that white, as it blends/fits in with the other lock screen elements. More importantly, white offers a better contrast, in case someone had a blue-ish wallpaper, in which case the lock would be hard to see.
I'm sorry if I am not being very helpful here, but it's actually quite easy for you to change the colours, spinners, etc. yourself if you'd really like to. Please just don't re-release a modded version of my theme if you do though. Modding my theme for your own usage would be absolutely fine though!

Hey klyzon, appreciate the feedback here, even though I actually do like the top status bar pattern. I definitely hear what you are saying though, as it doesn't make the theme very subtle any longer. Also, my lady gave me some grief for this too when I flashed it to her GNex
I am pondering whether or not to make 2 versions of the theme. One with basic, subtle PCB design mods, and one with everything styled to the tits Of course, that means double the work when it comes to updating (AOKP is on a roll!), so it will eat more of my already limited time
I just wish there was a better way to mod system resources without having to decompile/rebuild each .APK as they are updated...if anyone does know of such a method, PLEASE let me know! I looked into Ninja/Metamorph, but I don't think they offer much better methods. There was a thread about the VillainTheme system in the ASUS Transformer forums, but it never worked properly (wasn't actively worked on either).
Anyways, sit tight if you can for a few, and I'll try to work some more magic...
P.S. - I'd love to hear anyone else's thoughts on this. It would be great to get to a version that the majority approves of!
Hey, just installed and really like how subtle the effects are
I for one really like the PCBed(?) status bar!
2 things:
- The alarm icon gets kind of faded (it's never really "in your face" anyway)
- Could not get alternative softkeys to go with it.... Will have to learn to open those flashable zips and get the hands a little dirty
Thanks for the great job Not often that I actually install AND keep a theme
I really want this to work with my Razr on AOKP 27, but it never seems to work. Any idea how to get it working? I LOOOOVE this theme!
Edit: This is what my lwp looks like actually, so it would match!

Those files were in systemui.apk on ics... i modified what i thought was that area... but it didn't show up in my "theme"... considering all the XMLs pertaining to the notification pulldown are still in systemui.all on jb... I doubt its in framework anywhere...
Also, unless they changed something... that's not an image, its an XML...
These are just my theories because I only had like 20mins to add my signals, battery and associated xmls, and try to figure out that dern pulldown stuff... which I managed to edit only the image where the date/time is at... I'll have a look later tonight or tomorrow!

This is accurate (to my knowledge). In either colors.XML or drawables.XML of systemui there's a hex color for notification something bg color. Change the first two number/letters to something less and you'll get transparent . Sorry, on a train, otherwise I'd look it up exactly.

You will have to add in the code to assign a bg image for the shade. Stock ICS & obviously JB its defined by XML color code.
Its not a big deal... Just a small line of code to assign an image if you want to go that route.
oh ok... they must have moved it since gb.... that was my last time theming that i remember

I did the Gmail and email widgets. Added tunein. See Google Drive folder from OP.
Also, I don't know how well theme-ing swype would go But could try if you send me the APK. You could email to [email protected]
Hope you like. I don't use tunein so I had to download just to play with it.
Okay guys, I am wondering if someone could take this MMS.apk I have included and invert the conversation list but make the background to the actual conversations the same as the settings menus in ICS/JB are (black fading to gray) and then finally add the sense 4.0 style conversation bubbles I included. Otherwise if someone could just modify the .xml's for me so I can do the rest myself that would be great too. I just have so little time to do a complete overhaul and learn to decompile and theme with fulltime school and work going on.
Example of background I request for just the conversations not the list. (disregard the text, just using the black to gray background for example)
*if black to gray faded is not possible for a conversation list background a darker solid gray will do as well.

Because the stickied thread will not accomplish what the OP is requesting. I'll take a look and post a modded copy.
edit- use adb push to push this attached apk to /system/app. No need to change any permissions, rename anything, reboot, or other nonsense. (as long as you use adb)

I pushed it and it is still the exact same stock jelly-bean mms. I see the xml files are different in size from the original so I know it's modified but I'm not sure what happened. I tried pushing it via adb, I tried manually switching it in system/app and changing the permissions also, both ways and it comes up as white conversation list and then in the conversation its just all white normal stock.
*Edit, I just now tried deleting my Mms.apk completely and then moving yours into the system/app and rebooting, still the same stock Mms.apk, all white in conversation list, no bubbles in the conversation, background of conversation is still white as well.
If I messed something up or did something wrong I apologize but I think I installed the apk every possible way it could be with the same result.

Yep, and when I looked in my system/app folder with root explorer your version was in the right place. Like I said, when that didn't seem to change anything I did a backup with TiBackup of the mms.apk and then completely uninstalled it, then I tried pushing yours again with the same result, it goes to the correct folder and everything but when I open the messaging app it is the exact same as the stock mms I was originally using. That happened when I plugged my device into my pc and manually moved your Mms.apk into the folder and rebooted also. I've tried all ways to put it correctly into system/app and every way leads to it not changing at all.
I don't think you're actually using the debug bridge. You won't need to use root explorer at any point, just use that one command and done.
To make sure adb sees your device, type 'adb devices' and yours will be listed. If tot still can't get it I'll make it flashable

I know I did it correctly because I have been using adb to push roms and other apks to my device without issue. I even tried to push a few other things to make sure nothing was done incorrectly. As I said, even if there was an issue, manually placing the Mms.apk into system/app, setting the permissions to rw-r--r-- and rebooting should have worked. I even completely removed the original stock Mms.apk from my device and tried adb push of yours, it went exactly where it was supposed to but the app was exactly like stock, the bubbles from my OP were not in the conversations, the conversation background was not black fading to gray or straight settings menu gray it was still white and the rest of the application was exactly the same not inverted. I have no clue how to compile or mod an app but I've been using android long enough that I know how to correctly push applications to my device and pull them from it. I'm not sure what else I should try.
I'll gladly try a flashable if you think it would work.
OK I'll put one together.

Thanks a bunch man!
These are custom boot splash images to replace the plain white HTC logo when your phone boots up.
DO NOT FLASH THESE FILES ON THE ONE M9. YOU WILL HARD-BRICK YOUR PHONE.
How To Install
You must be s-off.
Flash in recovery.
Know your phone—I am not responsible for any bricks!
Important Information
You are replacing a partition on your phone, one that has nothing to do with your rom, recovery, or anything else. Changing roms will not restore the stock splash. The only ways to go back to stock are to 1) flash one of the stock splashes in this thread, 2) flash a complete stock firmware package in RUU mode, or 3) run a RUU.
These will not remove the red warning text on your boot screen. This text is not part of the splash image but is dynamically created by hboot when your bootloader is unlocked. You must flash a modified hboot to remove it. If you don't know what that is or how to do it, don't bother until you understand the risks involved.
If you flashed a GE hboot, you will have noticed that the red text is replaced with a small padlock. This padlock overlaps graphics like the beats logo on some of these splashes. I am not up to redoing all of them to correct this, but if there is a specific splash you'd like fixed and you ask nicely, I may take care of it.
Images below are lo-res thumbnails—actual splash screens were created in native 1080x1920 @ 468ppi.
I made most of these using touchofjobo's online tool here. If you like them, go to his thread and click thanks!
If none of these are to your liking, other users have also posted their own splashes in this thread if you're up to reading through all of it.
If you want to show your appreciation, donate to xda! I don't need the money.
Suggestions for Requests
If you'd like me to make one for you, post your request below and I'll give it a shot.
Bootsplash images are 1080 x 1920px. Graphic files you'd like to convert need to be at least 1200px high and preferably at least 2000px. This is so I have room for editing for best effect. Anything under 1600px high or so is going to look less sharp than one that is large enough because I have to stretch it to fit. (Note: Resizing a 600px image to be 2000px isn't going to help here—it needs to be large enough in the original.)
There are often larger versions of images you may have—you can use Google Image Search to find them (select Search Tools>Size>Larger than 2MP).
Images that are too small may look blurry or pixelated when converted to bootsplashes. There is nothing I can do about this.
Too Lazy to Sort Through All the Posts?
You can download every one of my splashes here. Includes the jpg files suitable for wallpaper use. (Note: Might not include the most recent splashes if I've done a bunch recently and haven't had time to update this file. Just check the edit timestamp on the OP against my last post in the thread.)
I've taken down a few splashes that were one-offs for someone, or that got <10 downloads. These splashes are still available in this zip file.
Will These Work on Other HTC Phones?
I have only installed these one my One (M7), so I do not guarantee—or recommend—flashing them on anything else. That being said, some brave folks have tried anyway.
They do not work on the M8 because the partition layout is not the same. THEY WILL HARD-BRICK A ONE M9 because the dd command will write the splash image to your aboot partition. While the files are sized correctly, the installation script will not work correctly. However, the zip files can be modified to work in fastboot; more on that here.
These have been confirmed to work on the One Max and Droid DNA as they share the same resolution and similar partition layouts.
They will not work on the One Mini because it has a different screen resolution. However, the partition layout is similar enough that the zip files will work if the splash images are sized down (you need the right application to do this, though it's not difficult). I have made a couple of Mini splashes in this thread; you can find them on pages 68 and 69. I can resize my splashes upon request.
They will also not work on either One X model (Evita or Endeavour), or the One X+, because the script writes to the wrong partition. It will likely just fail on the Evita, but could potentially soft-brick your Endeavour or One X+. (And even if the splash went to the right partition, the resolution is wrong so it would be distorted.)

Why is S-Off required? I thought the boot animation just required root and recovery?

Hmm, you have white on black and black on white. Do you care about the background or do you just want them stacked?

Make the tfk the larger of the two you can make them both black and make the keywork which is the bottom symbol very small like on any nexus device the size of the lock icon.

Your boot animation inspired to me to make some new ones.

The texture in the first one makes it hard to match, so I played with the idea a bit. Does this work?

This may be somewhat of a noob question, but is it possible to get rid of the stupid warning on the splash screen that says "this build is for development purposes only do not distribute outside htc" ??

You need to flash a modified hboot. There are a couple of threads on how to do it.
