Hi guys, dont know what happened but my Galaxy S cant pull mails out of my hotmail account since friday, i cant see my old mails in the box and dont receive new ones too, any ideas ?

Hi all, I flashed my TP2 with the newer HTC rom over the weekend. There were no problems with the procedure and most things are working fine.
My one issue is with email. I have 2 accounts set up. 1 is a work email address, the other it hotmail. Both addresses work fine in themselves, I can send and recieve on both if them. However if I send an email from my work address to Hotmail (I have tried 3 different hotmail address for 3 different people) it doesnt reach the destination address. I dont get any error messages, the email just doesnt get there. I can send emails to other addresses, just not Hotmail.
I have checked with work and nothing has been done there to stop messages to Hotmail addresses.
Before the rom flash I had no issues with this. All I can think is its something to do with the new rom, but I cant figure out what settings so try and change next.
Incidentally internet access is working fine.
My network is T-Mobile UK

Ι τhink it has to do with the hotmail client itself. I have same problem from time to time which is usually solved after a soft reset. I haven't found a better solution and i would be interested though...

One thing I have noticed is that my yahoo and hotmail accounts are not syncing the 'marked as read'. I have read the emails on the phone, but when I look at the mail on my laptop its still unread. Anyone had any simular issues?
try seven beta http://community.seven.com/main.php the problem you are having is that you have a pop connection to hotmail. So the phone keeps a copy of the emails rather than the push email which will understand read flags etc.

tbh your best bet is to do what i did and have your hotmail forwarded to a gmail account and use that gmail is much better and you can even get it to send as the hotmail addy. Also being a google phone it works a treat.

I've upgraded my Desire to LeeDroid 1.8. I went from the branded HTC 2.1 ROM to the LeeDroid. After that my POP3 mails won't stay on the phone if I download the mails with my computer.
Before I was able to save a copy of the mails on the phone an deleting it after 3 days. Now my mails instantly disappear after syncing my POP3 account with a email client like Thunderbird. That's annoying. I searched for a workaround but I can't find one.
Any hints for me?
Well, that sound OK for me ... just tell Thunderbird to leave the mails on the server for 5 days also. Otherwise you won´t be able to get them with your phone, and mails you have allready downloaded with you phone are deleted, because the phone thinks, you deleted them elsewhere. Thats the sense of syncing ...
Otherwise you could use IMAP instead of POP3. In this case, your mails stay allways on the server ... kind of backup then.

Well, before the update the phones stores copies of the mails and saved them for 3 days! That was great, because the important mails stand on the phone and get deleted after a short time.
It's annoying because in 2.1 the mails where copies and stayed on the phone. Have I really switch to IMAP? I don't want to connect all my mails with google.
I think, you have to share at least 3 days of you mails with google ...
You don´t need to use IMAP, but you have to setup thunderbird to leave the last 3 day´s emails on you pop server.
I can confirm the same behaviour with the stock froyo update.
Previously on the Telstra branded 2.1, Emails would stay on the phone even after downloading the emails onto my PC which would remove them from the server.
Since the upgrade, the next sync would empty the inbox on the phone which matches the now empty server. This matches what I have seen previously on Win Mobile.
On 2.1, the emails would stay in the phones inbox even though they have been removed from the server.
Tried setting to IMAP or POP but with the same results.
I quite liked the feature in 2.1 where the emails stayed visible.
That's the thing what I mean (but my English doesn't let me explain it so clearly like yours)
I hope there is a fix?
I think this was a fix, because now it does what it should do.
Just leave your mails a few days on the server with your pop client.
This way you have to delete spam mails only once.
Ok, perhaps there should be a button for switching the behavior.

Since 2 days i got a strange problem with my hotmail account and push settings.
Everything sets up fine but when my hotmail is @ push it keeps syncing.
This drain my battery completely also it wont recieve any mail until i sync manual. Before it worked just perfect.
Also when i am on my computer @ msn and i receive a mail msn keaps saying one new mail but it's already read on the phone!
I treid an other hotmail account i created with my phone and push settings and the problem was gone! So it's in my account or something
now i got the following problem:
I can't set it up as exchange but only as pop.
If i try an other hotmail account it works just great with exchange.
Someone knows what this can be!?

Anyone else got this problem
I updated yesterday to 2.3, and now I'm having problem with the htc mail with Hotmail account as a Exchange sync.
Fist off all it won't download any of my past emails, even when i change the option to 30 days or 3 days etc..
Secondly every time i read an email for delete one and it does a refresh it pull all the emails down again thinking its a new set-up, so it doesn't mark the emails on the server.
Anyone know of any fix for this?

I also have a similar problem, I flashed CleanDHD and there was no mail app, like htc mail. I was wondering why this happened?
