So, I think I have read all of the nearly 3000 posts in the ongoing Skyraider thread, and somewhere in the middle a few had mentioned gps issues. I have none of these problems, I was simply curious where one finds out their gps strength and number, etc. I looked everywhere in settings with no luck; I'm sure its something ridiculously obvious....

There does not seem to be an module built into the settings that allows you to look at GPS signal and satellite data, but there are good apps out there.
A fairly good app I've found is GPS Status by EclipSim, a free or donationware (plugin that gets rid of the ads) app available in the Market. The web site is here: http://eclipsim.com/gpsstatus/
Thanks!

How do you guys see if you are in 3g or 1x? Do you need to purchase the full version?
I just looked in the market there seems to be a free version which looks like it shows signal, data etc. If you're looking for "True" signal why don't you search the market for mobile signal widget. It's great. If this isn't the info you're looking for I apologize.

Looking for something for data.
Is there a way or an app that displays the current CPU Mhz on the notification bar? (Kind of like SetCPU but on the notification bar, instead of within the app).
Looking one for just testing. Don't want any of those swiss-army-knife apps that include a million things though.
Display CPU frequency (and maybe option of displaying percentage instead) should be the only feature.
Search market for temp+CPU pro. There's an option to put a selected state on your status bar.

Thanks, the market has really been bogged down with keywords and meta tags and such.
Even with filters it's hard to find what your looking for lol.
Yeah it seems like you need to put in the exact app name for it to show up correctly. Kind of strange that the search function could use improvement in the Google android market..

I thought that i was the only one trying to find things. Just recently i was trying to find Shoot me in the market but forgot the actual name of it, took forever with keywords. Didn't come right up with screenshot, screen grabber, root screen, etc...

I have posted a thread already but don't think it was in the right place. I am new to this and am still learning. I have rooted my phone and am having problems with watching any type of media weather it is you tube, internet or personal videos. I am also having a problem with my GPS and navigation systems finding my exact location unless on WiFi! The navigation never finds my location and is useless if its not working. Everything for the most part is working fine tethering and the Wimax key for 4g. I have tried other media players and have tried other navigation applications but think it is something internally wrong with the rom but am not sure. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Try flashing another rom

Do a complete wipe and re-install the rom. Also go into the thread of the rom that you have loaded up on your phone and SEARCH for the answers to your question. Then search again then search again on google. GPS issue/answers are all over xda so before you ask a question that I am sure someone else has please do some research. YOutube has its own app and download RockPlayer if you have not already.
What ROM did you flash?
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
I flashed it with the gingerbread Idk which version.

What was the name of the rom you flashed? Names like Fresh 4.0.4, CM7, Decks, Kingdom, etc.
That will give people the info they need to help you.
Kings gingerbread 7.0

Looks like my wife left her phone on top of the car and drove off. There is a limited window of battery life left and I have already downloaded a few dead end programs to the phone. Wheres My Droid app gave us the 3000m radius but could do better with a GPS signal. I cant seem to find an app that will remotely install a GPS switcher and also run it to meet my needs. All the auto-on GPS apps I can find are for Android 2.2 and LOWER. Seems the capability was neutralized without root after that update.
If anyone knows of any apps to help me out, now is the time. It would be much appreciated. Looking for a GPS auto-install Auto on app or something like Wheres My Droid that will auto activate GPS and send coordinates.
not possible AFAIK

Have you activated Samsung Dive? If so I think you can locate it through their site.
http://findmymobile.samsung.com/login.do
Yep, definitely a plus if you have a Samsung account on your phone, you can use Samsung Dive from a web browser to locate it even without GPS, pretty accurate to, pinpointed phone location to 10 metres for me without GPS but it depends on your phone network provider and signal strength if GPS isnt enabled also active data connection.
I'm afraid I already know the answer... but can you install and activate Samsung Drive remotely?
Search for Android lost app and push it to the phone.
Log into market place from browser ad your wife to do this

Ive already done a few apps but none can auto-on the GPS. Wheres My Droid worked best but nothing works accurately without GPS. Its within a 3000 meter radius which is quite large but I know the roads within that radius we traveled on...
Android lost can turn on gps

I wish I would have known or thought of this last night. Unfortunately it is now out of batteries. I know about a 300 meter strech of ditch it might have fallen into. Thats my last hope.
Any good deals out there on replacement phones till the S4 releases?

i'm having trouble sharing data between apps. when ever i try, i get a black screen as if the app is loading, but it never clears from the black screen.
it's happened when sharing data to hangouts, facebook, and mail.
i'm on viperone 5.7.0
any help would be appreciated.
I've had this same problem on my gs4 with all current AOSP ROMs I've tried.
I've looked before through the threads of the ROMs I've encountered this issue with and have never found a mention regarding this issue till I found the this post doing a search in XDA app.
Have you had any luck finding a solution or at least information? Thanks.
Cheers

Update: I did a clean install per someone's suggestion. But I think I've narrowed this down. I finally tracked down the problem to xposed module xmultiwindow. Disabling it made the problem go away. That module is lacking in usability anyway. Oh well.
Cheers
