[Q] Bootanimations for Sky Raider 2.2 - Droid Incredible Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am having an usual hard time getting any bootanimations to stick with SkyRaider 2.2. I have been doing this a while and can't seem to figure it out. So far the only one I can get to stick is the one that comes from the ROM. I've been wanting to put a few different ones on my phone and I have modded the desc.txt file to accomidate my phone and they all look good with the bootanimation preview tool but no matter which way I try to load them onto my phone I can't get them to stick. Can anyone help?

Help needed please! Boot Splash into rom

Hello all i am trying to incorporate my own bootsplash(not bootanimation) into my own rom so that when users flash the rom they will see my bootscreen first. anyone have any idea as to how i can do that???
anyone....
Have you seen this thread? I don't know if it can be incorporated into a ROM, but maybe you can figure something out.
By the way, I ran your ROM for several days with no problems. I really like the theme. The only reason I switched is because I wan't to try out all of them eventually. I nandroid'ed yours, however, and am keeping it because it's so stable and the theme is rockin'!

yeah i read through all that but doesnt tell me how to put it into my rom thanks for trying though and thanks for testing my rom!!!
bump......
I don't think this is easily possible, well not through flashing a ROM through recovery, as we need to get into the bootloader and use fastboot to write the new Splash1, I believe the right way to do this would be to edit the PC36IMG.zip, however looking at the PC36IMG, it doesn't seem like an easy thing to do, as the files are .imgs and can't be opened easily, I will say that the Kitchen does expand and open them, but it does not output it as a bootable .img to be pushed back into the PC36IMG.zip, and also, the Splash1 seems to be in a different format, anyways, I did do a lot of searching on the topic, and a lot of the stuff went over my head, and today is Saturday, so I'm not in a mood to work on learning new stuff, maybe tomorrow lol, that and I'm eagerly awaiting CM6. =] Anyways good luck on figuring this out Juggs. Also Juggs, your name always makes me laugh. LOL. =]

[Q] Myn's original boot image

does anyone happen to have the boot image that was included in myn's RLS 5? If i change mine, i wanted to be able to go back to the original one that said "please wait while starting up" or something like that
You can actually extracted from the Rom on your PC or just use Rom Explorer and copy it, than save it.

You didn't have to root to change the lockscreen. You can fully customize it with Widgetlocker. It's a few bucks, but more than worth it. Look it up & check out the WL themes thread as well, there's some great stuff there.
I wouldn't base my rom on the bootanimation & lockscreen, as both can easily be changed. To change the bootanimation, you either need a flashable zip specific for your rom, knowledge of adb, or Root Explorer or another root-level file explorer. Find the boot animation you want to use and download it. If it isn't a flashable zip, you'll need to know where your rom stores the boot animation. On Sense based roms, the boot animation is stored in system/customize/resource. With Root Explorer (or an alternative) change the name of the original boot animation, and move the one you want to that folder, ensuring it's named bootanimation.zip then set permissions.
There are threads with lists of boot animations available to download, or apps that allow you to browse/install from their list.
If you're having trouble flashing through recovery, I suggest switching to Amon Ra. Whatever you tried to flash was probably amend scripted. Once you've switched recoveries, remember to do a backup!
I also suggest learning more about being rooted before making any significant changes. Know what & why you're doing something before you do it. Good luck & have fun

[Q] Boot Animation Puzzle

First post, but I believe I have done due diligence in reading up on this issue.
I really love reading the posts and have found several of them useful, but I just haven't done a lot of posting... until now.
Does anyone else hate that stupid Sprint 4G animation????
I recently flashed MikG and the only thing that I don't love about this rom is the boot animation. It has the standard Sprint animation. I see there are plenty of other cool animations, so I wanted to update this.
I went and renamed the sprint spc_bootanimation.zip and have placed several different boot animation zips in the system/customize/resource folder (one after the other). Sprint animation goes away, but no matter which version of the bootanimation.zip I put in it's place, I get the same results. My boot animation is always a black screen with small light letters on it spelling "android". There is kind of a cloud animation scrolling behind the letters. Always the same no matter which bootanimation.zip I put in place.
I've tried the adb push method, the boot replacer program, and just copying the file to the proper location (several different files in fact) (using explorer v1.0 folder is mounted r/o) with the same results. I found a cool one on the collection page that was flashable, but it ended up having an error in the code and aborted.
Gotta get rid of that Sprint sales advertisement and get some cool looking animation that you guys have cooked up!
Any thoughts would be much appreciated!

That's the default ANDROID animation. Aosp. Find a boot that flashes or Google uot theme kitchen and make your own file to flash; just choose the boot animstion
Gimme a couple a days to come up with a new sig that is cool.
I am running that same rom. No problems changing the boot animation. I push rom> reboot> power down > push boot animation located on sd card in recovery>
here is the honeycomb boot animation I am using:
Okay have it figured out now.....
Had the file going in the correct location. Needed to modify the permissions of the file to match the other files in that folder & renamed the file "spc_bootanimation.zip" in lieu of "bootanimation.zip". Working great now.
Thanks for all of your assistance!
Loving this ROM!
I found out you just need to have it named spc_bootanimation.zip

Stock Live Wallpapers?

Just got my Galaxy Nexus yesterday from Verizon, got it up to date, unlocked, rooted, and then began trying out ROMs. I'm rocking RootzBoat with a faux123 kernel, and I love it.
HOWEVER, the ROM is missing a few of the nice live wallpapers that the phone comes with by default. The one I'm really looking for is Microbes. Can anyone throw up the APK for it?
Or, is there any way to pull it out of the Clockwork backup I made prior to flashing the sweet ROM? I really don't wanna have to go back to stock and then back to where I am now just to harvest a few APKs.
This phone rocks!

Try using APK Extractor from the market
I ended up switching ROMs, so in the process I restored to my backup and then was able to pull the APK.
If someone wants the "stock" Microbes.apk from the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, you can get it here:

You are legally only allowed to download this file if you actually own this phone, as buying the phone also buys a license to the software that comes with said phone, giving you the right to use it.
