too many roms isn't a bad thing.
we almost need a new sub forum here for ROMS and one for MODS
what do people think?
i think a better idea is to have a subforum where we can have all the roms and mods threads tagged with [MOD] or [ROM-froyo Sense] [ROM- froyo Stock] [ROM- eclair Sense] [ROM- eclair Stock]
and NOTHING posted there....the questions or developing subjects and general development issues posted at the regular android development...
this rom/mod showcase subforum will be the place to download and spend 2-3 hours searching for roms or mods

100% sign...........
Better still have sub forums for each of all the main MODDER'S and a misc sub forum for anyone wanting to share their own mods etc.
I think I am the one of the few people who download a lot of different ROM ^^
i agree, maybe a seperate subforum for modders to post their roms/mods and change logs and general for comments and stuff
agree too ................

Well, then we are already two people
Many ROMs is greate. Diversity is definitely wanted. But diversity needs structure in order not to be mistaken for chaos and that's the point the thread creator is up to, i think.
If so: signed!
Maybe a naming convention needs to be thought of.
E.g.:
[type-modifier1-modifier2]name-version[features|features| ...]
where xyz is:
type: mod, rom, kernel, fix etc...
modifier: e.g. android version, sense. stuff like that.
name and version should be clear.
well, features should be clear as well.
A time stamp of last change could also be of help...
This looks pretty similar to the stuff we already have, i know. But a well defined structure like that would be a leap forward. And with well defined i mean some people, maybe moderators, to have a naming convention created that needs to be obligatory for everyone.
Having many ROMs is good, but the thread title should, imo, contain all relevant information one would need to decide if this ROM/MOD/FIX/DEV/WHATEVER is worth reading. Different people have different demands...
Different opinions and criticism welcomed.
greetings from munich...
Agreed especially with the popularity of the desire in europe as the best mainstream android handset.

Completely agree with this. I hate searching through roms and finding out most of them are just winzip mods.
Should be some indication. Should present this to the forum mods and see what they think about it
+1
and we shoud have a sticky listing all ROMS/MODS and their main features.
Double post. Sry!

I second that!
I think ROMS and MODS should even be in their own seperate sub forums, IMO putting ROMS and MODS together in one sub is a move in the right direction but not quite far enough

Totally agree on this. +1
+1 for structure.
One I hope in the Topic of every ROM, is list of non-working features, so I could track the most mature one just by looking at the topic.
Currently runnin Dj Droid 1.1 R1
I thought this section of the forum is for ROMS not themes? We have a theme section which is for that, or am I missing the point? It's becoming annoying scrollling through pages just to get to the ROM threads.

Point me to the threads in question and I'll move them if need be.
On another note.. Moved to General as this clearly isn't a development issue!
Hey Im running Super Z enhanced and I was wandering if it possible to change the swiping from home screen to home screen transition to like a cube style or carousel type style like the EVO 3D sense ui. Would someone be able to do it or find me a link that has a zip file that makes it transition like a carousel.
One: This should be in Q&A/General
two: Not gonna happen until we get a system dump of the Evo 3d.
Every time someone posts such off-topic threads in the dev forum, God kills a kitten.
Think of the kittens and, for their sake, post in the correct forum.
Sorry this is only my 2nd thread so im not used to this yet and where to post things.

Launcher pro has the cube like which is pretty much the same as the evo 3d one but I dont know how to take that transition out of Launcher pro and put it on sense ui.

This is a stickied thread at the top of every development subforum:

Not to be "that guy", but it would do you well to read that thread and the forum rules. They tell you everything you need to know.
DIFFERENCE : Runnymede and RunnymedeMod007 ???
With Runnymede, you have the RCMix3d Tweaks cooked in where you can further alter Clock, Battery Signal, Rosie, Notification, Display, Lockscreen style as well as some others. I also found this more smooth and quicker than RunnymedeMod007 but that is just my view. Best to try both to see which you prefer.

Let me do this politely, you should have read the rules and noticed that you are not a developer, nor are you releasing a ROM thus you should have posted in the Q & A section.
I'm done, let the flaming commence lmao
NOOB READ THE RULES,..... and use the **** search button, its called DEVELOPMENt and not QUESTION
To be fair, OvationAcoustic has been a member since 2008 so should have known the rules by now but I have been polite and answered the best I can.
Wonder how long before a moderator moves this into the correct Q&A section
Questions or Problems Should Not Be Posted in the Development Forum
Please Post in the Correct Forums and Read THIS
Moving to Q&A
Hi Dear Forum Users,
I was wondering are there any possibility to integrate MirrorLink support to our Mi5 phone?
What is depend on to make phone compatible with MirrorLink? Is it about Kernel sources, firmware or directly Rom?
I searched a lot of pages but I couldn't find anything about that issue.
Waiting for your vice answers
wrong place to ask. there is a q&a section for that damn

I think not wrong place. Because it is all about development of software. Not a invidual q&a question. I am not asking where is the gallery app or something else.
it is about development doesn't mean then this IS development, and this section is for the latter afaik. if all questions about development would be posted in this section, this section would be full of question threads, rather than dev threads. think about that. just my 2 cents
ok. mods can delete. Anyway...
There were very few comments about MirrorLink and about its porting.
I asked q&a section. I don't have any hope can find an answer...
+ 1 to get mirrorlink working on xiaomi i hate android auto
And i have car that support both mirrorlink and android.
Love to be able to use both
