Every time i try to do something on the SDK its says no space left on device.
So i got a root manager and a file manager to try to delete some files that i knew i wasn't using, but every time i reboot they show back up. What do i do to delete the files from my phone?
you system it still locked you need to run the unrevoked forever zip

As your phone sits... you don't have permission to do this... please run enrevoked forever and then you will have permission to delete files.
Somehow, the framework-res.apk; browser.apk; HTCDialer.apk; HTCclockwidget.apk were all moved to app backup in the sdcard in the storage optimizer file.
I have tried to reinstall, and it states it is a system application and asks if I still want to replace. I hit ok then install. It moves forward and the done, but it states that application not installed.
This has the WiFi access on it, and I am most concerned about not being able to use the WiFi.
What can I do, EVO 2.2.
You should be able to do it with adb shell.
thanks, I was going tl try, I am just new, as you can probably tell. I am trying to set up.

I'm not sure I understand how that happened, and I'm slightly confused by it. Are you sure those files were actually moved, and not copied to the sd card? I didn't think the phone would even be able to run without the framework-res.apk.
Anyways, to answer your question, you can use Root Explorer (3 or 4 bucks in the market, and well worth it) or ES File Explorer (free) to make changes in the system folder. I use root explorer to add/remove system applications all the time. You just need to click a button within the root explorer app to mount the system read write. Once you do that, you can add, delete, edit, etc anything in the system folder. just navigate to /system/app. Good luck.
Edit: and of course, as the other poster suggested, you would also be able to do it with ADB, if you're familiar with it.
i think they were copied, yes, but they are not in use, and I need to get them back to the proper place for use. Thanks, I will try root explorer.
guys how can i put a bunch of applications in a zip folder a flash it by recovery.Ive tried putting 3 apps in a zip folder and flshing it via recovery but it says failed..
I tried that a while ago on the g1 with mixed results.
You have to put them in the data/app/ folder the same way they appear on your phone. If you are feeling ambitious, you can also grab the corresponding folder in data/data. You'll have to look for the java package name, not the app name. Lastly, you have to adjust the updater-script in META-INF/com/google/android/ to mount and flash the data folder, not system and then clean out the extra cruft.
You might have to resign the zip or just toggle sig checks.
Other options include using recovery to restore the data partition, but this will be everything, not just your 3 favorite apps. Alternatively, you could write a script that runs from your PC while your phone is in recovery and use the "adb install" command. I think there are also apps that do that for you, such as Titanium backup.
Gee one thanks for the reply but can you plz reexplain "If you are feeling ambitious, you can also grab the corresponding folder in data/data. Your phone stores the app in data/app/some.java.name.here so if you use flash those files, your apps will be installed. The app itself stores settings, history, etc in data/data/some.java.name.here If you flash the corresponding folder in data/data, you'll also get all your settings and won't have to bother setting it all up from scratch.
If you use adb or a file explorer to poke around in your data/data and data/app folders, you'll see what I mean.
In order to get the zip to flash, you have to include "instructions" that tell the recovery what to do with the zip. Unzip one of the flashable roms and look in the META-INF/com/google/android folder. There should be two files there. You want to edit the updater-script so that it flashes your data. Most likely, it is set up to flash a custom rom to your system folder. You'll have to do some editing and some trial and error to figure it out, but if you are just flashing the data partition, most of the commands in updater-script will be superfluous.
Lastly, and this the part that everyone hates (second only to adding adb to your path), you either have to sign the zip with jarsigner, signapk, or something similar, or turn off signature checking in your recovery. Signing the zip is essentially adding a digital signature so that your phone knows that the zip is intact. Clockworkmod recovery will let you toggle the signature checks in one of the options- poke around and get familiar with your recovery. It's probably in there somewhere.
I think Titanium backup will let you freeze/unfreeze apps- you might want to consider it.
Thanks

Did this work? Like to buy a beer for someone who wants to upload a zip with a file explorer all for a project I have that has no play store or file explorer on it. Thank you
First off, though I don't know that it'd be a factor here, but I switched carriers from T-Mobile to AT&T. I don't really see how switching SIM cards would have any effect - I'd already updated to 20e, re-rooted, and installed TWRP. Double checking under Settings/Hardware Info, it shows my phone still is listed as a LG-D851.
It's been awhile since I made or checked my local TWRP backups but checking just now my TWRP folder displays as a 0 byte file. My thought was delete the file, copy a full set of TWRP folders (nandroid) back from my extSDcard and I'd be fine. Problem is I can't delete the file (and now thinking best to ask first, lol!).
I've tried with FX file manager (with root granted) but get an access denied error. Going in under System as root user and navigate to /mnt/sdcard/, I see all other folders but no TWRP file. I've tried ES File Explorer which successfully deletes it, but it reappears. Even tried deleting and creating a temporary TWRP folder immediately after but I get "Sorry, operation failed".
I'm able to get into TWRP, run a backup which says it completed successfully, but I see it as this file rather than a folder like it should be... Searching, I found one a workaround: TWRP Troubles
I use TWRP Manager free and thought about installing the latest TWRP for my D851 (from 2.8.6.0 to 2.8.7.0) but don't know if it'd create a bigger problem. Thought best to ask the pros!!
Any thoughts?

As I added after my initial post, if I boot into TWRP recovery and connect to my PC, TWRP shows on my PC as a folder. I'm able to copy it to my PC, but this isn't the most elegant. Is there something more I can do to get back to seeing/using folder operations on it while using an android file manager?
Again wondering if I update TWRP via TWRP Manager if that'd help any...and presumably my hardware hasn't changed any, so still would be TWRP for the d851?
Thanks!!
On every other phone since 2000 years ago i ALWAYS could put in the rom zip file in download folder. And then start into recovery.
There i could find the download folder and point out any zip file to install.
But with this phone when i start into recover first it asks for password. Pressing cancel takes me further.
BUT...where are the folders one wonders!!!!. I can NOT find the download folder.
Entering sdcard folder only shows empty place.
I KNow that i have managed somehow...before .....to boot up into recovery and suddenly i can see all the ordinary folders where i have inserted the zip files. But i can not figure out what im doing different to have been able to see these folders. Can not point out the exact reason for not seeing it this time.
When phone is booted normaly. I choose filetransfer in windows and copy the files into the memory of the phone....in folder DOWNLOAD.
But as i said before...then when booting into recovery...this folder or any other folders that are seen under windows are not present at all.
What im a doing wrong? JUst want to place the rom file in a folder to be able to reflash the phone.
Sorry
My son protected the boot sequence with password. When removed it....i could see all the folders again.
