I'm having a battery issue. When I charge the battery to 100% then unplug the charger it drops to around 60% within minutes. It won't fully charge when turned off either. I started having these problems after using one of the mini to micro usb charging adapters on one of my mini usb chargers I had lying around. Any ideas would be awesome. Also I did s-off so I don't think verizon will do a warranty exchange. Thanks!
PS I tried searching the forums for an answer but I couldn't find it. I apologize in advance if there is a thread about this that I missed. Thanks!
can you try another battery

It might be the battery, not the phone.... also, reset your battery "memory" in Rom Manager or Recovery Mod
It does this with both of my batteries and I have reset my batt stats in clockwork mod recovery. Any other thoughts?
Check your CPU usage?
If it really instantly goes from full icon to 60? I would try plugging it back in and see if it'll continue charging. If not, he battery is probably dead. If it does charge, then you've confirmed that deleting battery stats does nothing.

it will definitely charge when I plug it in. replacement battery from verizon on the way, if that doesn't work I was told it might be the charging port. Sigh. Thanks for your help guys.

I thought maybe a nightly messed me up so thought it would be a good time to start flashing again, well it is not the rom. Your battery is probably old and dying out due to age or sbc kernel? . Try a new battery or charge your current battery on an external cartridge. (Seperate wall charger)
I'm not too experienced with batteries but that is the process I will try out

I'm willing to bet that it's possibly your battery. Sounds to me like it just can't hold the charge correctly. The red and green numbers in BMW represent a drain or a charge. If you're at a red 20MAH (Milliamps/hour) then it's only draining at 20mah and that's nothing at all. Mine usually avgs a steady 51 throughout the day minus the times I'm checking something and I get my 8 hours just fine. I've used SBC kernels for a long time and mine doesn't do that kind of stuff or show any fatigue or damage from it. If you have a spare HTC Hero the batteries are the same. If not you COULD bring it to a sprint store and have them check it.

My wife and I had the same problem with our evo. We found out that it was the cheap aftermarket chargers that messed our phones up. I had to get a replacement. She is due for an upgrade so she will wait in the meantime she uses a battery cradle to charge hers. She is waiting for the I phone 5.

I've been using this ROM for a while but recently noticed a problem with the battery. Starting last week I noticed that even though my sync is set to every hour, I would constantly see the sync icon flashing and that data polling was killing a fully charged battery in about an hour.
Then I noticed that my standard Sprint USB-to-wall charger wasn't working correctly. The battery was being depleted faster than it could recharge! The same thing happened when I used the USB cable to charge from my computer. Fortunately someone at work had a "ChargePod" that is really powerful and my phone was able to re-charge.
So the other day I wiped and re-flashed the ROM. Still had the same problem.
Yesterday I replaced the battery with a brand new HTC-OEM battery. Still have the same problem.
Since the battery has been replaced, I'm ruling that out as the cause. Can anyone suggest anything else?
Perhaps you have a bad download? When you reflashed did you use the same download that you used the first time? You said that the rom had been running fine, but it's worth a shot. Usually the constant syncing is caused by a missing app that would normally sync with everything else, like if you removed one part of Friend Stream. Gmail has also been an issue for some people in relation to syncing.
If you restored your apps or data, whatever was causing the issue to begin with could have triggered it again upon restore. It could also be hardware related.
Did you happen to wipe battery stats without a full charge and proper calibration? Either way, try recalibrating your battery.
It could be any number of things, I think you're just going to have to do some testing.

Battery depleting
Could be a faulty usb cord, if it got crimped. Don't think its the charger since the phone will not charger from charger or computer. Goto Sprint store and try one of their usb cords.
A little more info on this...
So I discovered that a friend's CallPod Chargepod will charge the phone. These things are strong - putting out something like 940mA (?) per connected device.
A usb-computer-charge is ~100mA and I don't know what my HTC (oem) wall chargers put out but I'm guessing maybe in the 500mA range?
So, at some point in the almost 2 years I've owned the phone it has decided to only accept high-power chargers! I'd really like to figure it out but now that Motorola sells 1A chargers for ~$5 on Amazon I can just upgrade if needed.

Computer usb normally charges at about 500ma, not 100ma. And the stock HTC charger charges at 1000ma.
As stated above, it could be a bad usb cable, or a loose usb port on the phone. Try flashing a different rom just to rule that out.
I'd say download battery calibration from the market.make sure your fully charged and go from there.or you could fully charge Boot into recovery and wipe battery stats, then allow your phone to die all the way to 0%.followed by recharging without any interruption.

Hi All,
I posted this on MoDaCo initially but it seems either noone was interested or not many people have a Galaxy Nexus on that forum. So, I'm going to paste the post I put on there and see if you guys are having similar issues as its starting to become an annoyance.
Just so people don't start moaning, this ISN'T related to the Battery draining problem I originally posted a week or so back. My battery issues are fixed thanks to the wonderful devs who made Juice Defender.
Anyways, back on topic. I've noticed ever since I've gotten my GNexus that the battery never fully charges to 100% without me unplugging it and plugging it back in again to FORCE it to charge to 100%. I've tried the usual battery calibration trick and I have also tried an app on the market that is supposed to work.
I then tried wiping and putting the stock ROM back on, but to no avail. Wiping batter stats via CWM comes up with the same as well.
My battery is capable of charging to 100% but its only if I unplug it from charging and them plug it back in again.
I've tried charging via USB and via the wall charger both with the same results. My question is, are you guys having these issues? Is there anyway of fixing this that I haven't already tried?
There are a lot of threads about this already, please use the search before posting. This is normal behavior, batteries will never keep charging once they hit 100%, they stop charging and will charge again after they have dropped a few percentages. This is to protect the battery.
I have the same 'issue'. Not that I am too concerned about 1-2% but every morning when I unplug and look at the phone its on 98%-99%. never 100%
This is, in fact, a good thing.
The max voltage you may charge a LiIon cell to is 4.20V. If you charge it slightly less, say to 4.15V (~95%), you will get a lot more charge cycles out of it.
Also, the more time the battery stays at max voltage (or close to it), the faster the battery ages.

So my s2 has been charging really slow, like today it took like 5 hours to fully charge, and when connected to charger if I'm using it it wont charge very well, like the battery will stay at lets say 20% when im using it and charging it, it might even go down more. it used to charge pretty well even if I was on it. Cuz this be the charger, or is my battery messed up?? Im using the charger that came with the phone.

Are you charging through a usb port on your computer or ac? If it is with usb port then yes it will charge at a much slower rate. Also if you have a lot of apps running or backround data going it will also cause your charging to slow down some. I would say through usb without any apps open and backround data stopped It would take a few hours to charge say from 20%. Through AC in the same condition probly 1.5 hours. Try to reboot your phone and then plug it in to charge to see if that doesnt speed it up any. If it does then you know you have backround data moving at a fast rate and that would be your reason to slow the charge down.
Yeah I'm charging with the wall charger, not thru usb

thats pretty weird...have you tried using another usb cable?? maybe the cable is faulty?

You could try calibrating the battery, maybe. To do that, turn the phone off. Charge to full (make sure it's full, by taking it off of the charger and putting it back on...the indicator should read 100% almost immediately when reattached to power).
When the battery is full, with the phone still turned off, remove the battery for about 2 minutes. After 2 minutes, reinsert battery and restart phone.
Battery will be calibrated. This may not resolve the problem of a slow charge, but will clear 'battery memory' which may have been preventing it from charging completely (and, I suspect, may have inhibited charging).
Good luck!
I was using an aftermarket wall charger and had similar results. Switched to the USB/AC converter that came with the phone and all was well.

Actually, one doesn't need an app to calibrate the battery. If you follow the instructions above, the app is unnecessary. And the phone mustn't be rooted
YODA? ^^^^
Hey elflip88, have you found the issue yet?
I have the same problem on my HTC Amaze 4G. It's charging 1% every 3 minutes (adds up to 5 hours)
I'm also using the wall charger...oh damn, I'm starting to think I have a faulty device / battery...
yelp!
For the record Samsung devices are known to be slow at charging so with that considered.... You still shouldn't be at 5 hrs. I would find a battery stats app charge your battery over night and check the chart to see exactly how long it takes to go from 0 - 100. Make sure your batter status is good. Also check the voltage coming into your phone from your charger. There are plenty of battery stat apps in the market that will do this sort of thing. Of course make sure your battery doesn't have water damage of course too lol.

I've had the same problem with mine. But, I can get 1.5 days without charging and moderate usage. Charge it up, drain it, charge it back up then wipe your battery stats in recovery.
This may help if you're using an aftermarket wall charger
If you guys are having issues with slow charging using an aftermarket wall charger, it could be that the phone is charging in a USB state rather than an AC charging state. QuickCharge could alleviate your issues. The cable is inserted between the wall charger and the USB cable that goes to your phone. You can find the product on Amazon. It's the 2nd of 3rd item from the top when you search 'QuickCharge'.
I find that when I fully drain my battery and charge it, it's really slow. Once the phone has enough battery to stay on, I unplugged it and replugged it and it charges normal again.

It's your wifi and your apps using wifi. Turn wifi off while charging. I used to charge 4 hours + on my S2. Reduced to 2 and some change when I turn off wifi.
Also, I struggle to make it through a working day with wifi on. Turn wifi off and I can do 4 days no problem.

I put it on the charger at 10 am and by the time I go to school its at 60 or 70 percent everyday, even when it's on airplane mode. Is there a way I can fix that? I tried wiping my battery stats and I also got Battery Doctor but that doesn't help either... So can someone help me with this issue?
Additional information:
Running Wicked Rom.
Stock Battery
Not even 2 week old yet.
I haven't dropped it at all.
No water damage at all.
Also charger is a 1.0 amp charger made by Samsung.
I'd consider flashing to stock and starting over, buying another battery, or another charging cable.

I still use the stock charger and cable that came with the phone and my phone charges at approximately 1% per minute (or even a little higher) when it is on the charger. If yours doesn't charge that fast try another cable (borrow one if you have to or go to the T-Mobile store and ask them to use one of their cables to test it for you). Good news is that even if your battery has gone bad you have a phone for which the battery is easily replaceable.

I have figured it out. I uninstalled a few programs that wouldn't let my battery charge completely. I noticed there were three applications running while my phone was on and those thee programs were running all the time without me knowing. So I Delete Battery Doctor, Clean Master, and Wakelock Detractor. After I uninstalled those, my phone was charging a lot fast and when I woke up today, my phone was at 100% and I was happy. I thought I would have to re-flash my rom.
