I got the new 7" Augen Gentouch78 tablet PC today. When I logged into facebook through the browser I noticed at the bottom of the screen it said download facebook for your Droid Incredible. Does this PC have the insides of a Droid Incredible? If so, Can I root it and how?

Please post suggested forum web page, thanks; I just bought one of Gen78, since I am familar with Android 2.2.2--it was easy to setup its 2.1 OS.
That is why I need more information, thanks again.

Hello all,
I'm a noob in winmo and smart phones. Didn't want a smart phone until the start of the year where my business started to get busy. I needed to respond to clients sooner even when I'm on the road. I did not want to get an iphone as I did not want to be just another guy who has it. lol.
I almost bought a palm pre but did not like the keyboard I looked at nokia smart phones but didn't like it either. I then saw the TP2's keyboard and fell inlove with it.
Not knowing what winmo is but I was set to get this phone. I am so glad I waited for this phone because it passed my expectations and the fact that I found this website (checking it everyday now), this phone will do what I need it to do and entertain me (tweaks) for quite some time.
Anyway, that is my intro. I have questions regarding email and flash using IE.
I have 2 email accounts setup on my phone. My first account (gmail) doesn't have an email at all. I received couple of emails 2 days ago and I'm surprised to see that its not there anymore. My wife's iphone can see all the messages in the gmail server even the sent mails. Is there a way to have that same setup on our phones?
And lastly, my understanding is that IE has flash support, however when I was looking at a website that has a flash video, all I see is the flash icon with "9". Can someone steer me to the right direction?
I know this is quite long but thank you very much for your time. I am really enjoying my first ever smart phone, winmo and this awesome website. I hope I can contribute to this site in the near future

Go into the settings in Gmail>Settings>Forwarding and POP/IMAP>POP Download: and in 2. select;
When messages are accessed with POP: Keep Gmail's copy in Inbox.
As for your flash question, You need to spend make time reading the Wiki and
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=550540
Good luck, hope that helps.
Thank you very much for the email settings and thank you for the link.. That's really what I wanted, something to read and understand it on my own.
Have a good one.

WillardZ:
Thanks again for the link.. I realized that I've already read the page page that you linked, so did you mean that I need to flash my stock rom and use another install another rom to have the ability to view flash websites?
I am actually trying to wait for this guy to make a bloatware remover on Tilt2 before messing with other ROMs (as much as I want my phone to be very fast)
Thanks
niM
Have you tried using Opera Mobile instead of IE on the site? I find that that Opera usually plays flash videos better than IE, even though they use the same flash plugin. For example, YouTube plays fine on Opera, but shows the 9 in place of a video on IE.
As for the page previously linked to by WillardZ, I think he thought you were talking about flashing ROMs. There is no requirement I am aware of to flash a new ROM for browser flash support, unless there is no flash at all included in your ROM (not the case here), in which case you could flash to one that does. I hope that clarifies it for you.
DaveTheTytnIIGuy:
Thank you very much for clarifying that.. I tried using opera mobile on www.videosbyccp.com The main page has flash video and I can't even see the flash icon, its completely blank..
I'm going to try to download skyfire and I hope that works..
Thank you once again..
niM
Dave or anyone,
You said you can view youtube videos no problem using opera. However, mine says ..
"Hello, you either have JavaScript turned off or an old version of Adobe's Flash Player. Download flash player"
I checked my opera setting and javascript is checked the whole time. So obviously some of my settings are different from yours and I hope you or anyone would like to help me.
I installed skyfire, although my wife can play farmville (very laggy), I'm hating the crappy display..
Thank you very much.

Thread necromancy is a no-no. You can't view Youtube content from within Opera Mobile.

Hey recently ive decided that I want to replace my stereo in my car with a mac mini and an external tough screen. I first thought I would try to use the HDMI feature of the Evo to view my phone on the screen, but I would want it to be interactive on the screen. So then I decided I should find a program that will allow me to use my Evo through a usb cord so the Evo displays on in a window on my mac or windows pc and i can interact with it from there. Does anyone have any ideas on how to make this work? Or does anyone wanna take on this project?
There is a thread on this topic in Q&A. I saw it maybe 2 days ago. Has a few suggested apps to control your evo via pc or vice versa.

hahaha i know. but those run through the web and i cant share the same connection if im creating the wifi form my phone.
and the ones that i found that go through usb, which is 1, refreshes and 4 frames a second =/
you could wire up a wifi router..
Here's the thread he was talking about: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=971209
Anyway...
I used this: Droid VNC Server (FREE, requires root)
And this: VNC® Viewer Free Edition 4.1 for Windows (also free)
It's pretty choppy, but it works.
If you don't have Windows, pretty much any VNC viewer will work, there's lots of them out there (Google it).
Appreciate it. And yea. The last two days I've been doing research and trying out different ones, and everything had been laggy or choppy. I made this hoping to find a hidden gem that worked perfectly or someone that knew how to get it working flawlessly

Try mymobiler, it works perfectly for me. Just go google "mymobiler", it is the first result comes up.
Google android screencast, as long as your phone can be detected by adb it works great!

Hey everyone, I have a couple questions about rooting a Kindle fire.
I bought one for my wife off of Craigslist for $100. Great shape. works great. Internet browser works great.
It has several applications installed on it related to GO? Like GO launcher EX and GO store, GO weather themes, etc. I thought I could use the GO store to download apps but everytime I would try to search and download I would get no search results not matter what I typed in the search bar.
The guy I bought it from said I could use Android market on it to download apps but I couldnt find the market anywhere on the tablet.
I assumed it needed installed so I downloaded Root Explorer and was following directions to install android market from a Youtube tutorial. Everything was working great until I needed to "move" an exported file to another file location.
The kindle was not giving me the option to move the file and the tutorial said if I didnt have that option I was not rooted.
So can I "reroot" it and then install android market?
Any advice you can give would be great, sorry if this was covered in another thread.
thanks again! :good:
wow thanks for all the info! really helps! Ill try that asap
And no I do not have a kindle fire. I just bought it for her because she wants to be able to read 50 Shades of Grey whenever she wants....lol

by "the first book" do you mean the bible? that's free on most outlets such as the kindle app which is available from the google play store. nobody here is going to direct you to a link to pirate things though... if you must find illegal copies of books I would try searching for digital copies of the book in question on google
Simple (and maybe stupid) question...
I was looking for a rom, and google show me this:
http://www.lollipop-roms.org/mp3-0/acer-iconia-tab-a100-3841.html
Just for curiosity tried to download it, but fail...
Anyway... i don´t believe about that page... but can someone check about it?
Thanks!!!
Since the second line is "I rewrite this tutorial from forum.xda-developers.com" and it is clearly NOT from here, I think you can assume the rest has very little truth to it.
It's definitely fake. The text looks like it's been generated with some bot and just filled in or then copied from another, similar text, and then they just added those scam links. You need to complete a survey which means paying money for like an SMS service or app download that will charge you a lot of money. A friend fell to one of those, and he got 3x45 euros bill from his operator for trying to download a pirated APK through a similar site. He got to the download all right after entering his phone number, but the apk he got was malware that installed ad downloaders and tracking apps on his phone, added shortcuts and sent his logs somewhere to China (Southern China if I remember correctly).
So yeah, anything that looks fishy and is not from a popular, widely-used site like XDA forums or the other similar forums, is mostly always a fake in this case too...
I was also looking for a Lollipop ROM for the Iconia and stumbled upon this, noticed only now how old the thread is, but whatever

Hi there, I still have a A100, very robust tablet, it never gave me any headaches... I recently installed a A500 Omniron 5.1.1 and it booted, went to the initial android setup screen and stucked there because the touchscreen driver does not work on A100... but all buttons, wifi, usb seems to work well, only the touchscreen is the matter... does anyone here knows how to solve that ? I read some threads about compiling the kernel, but if that is the solution I would need tips or help... at least there is yes a light in the end of the tunnel to make A100 work with Lollipop 5.1.1....

Yeah it's a good little device!
Impressive that they work! Bluetooth too?
The last time I compiled the kernel was for Android 2.3.7 and that was ages ago But you could maybe try to find the touch driver location on the device through ADB shell (exploring it's contents) or the downloaded package. Then after that's found, you could try pushing the working drivers from an earlier version, like 4.3, through ADB also and then reboot the device to see if it does anything! I can't for my life remember how they're supposed to be put there the real way but this is just a quick thought..lol.. anyone else have ideas?
