Power Control Widget Question CM6 - Droid Incredible Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

In the new CM6 Test8 I noticed there is an additional button on the Power Control widget in between WiFi and Bluetooth. What is this button for?

to turn data on and off.

Home key illumination?

Hi. I'm sitting here in bed and the wife is complaining the home key lights keep her awake. I'm using shadow rom with the red nightmode render. Just gotta turn these lights off. Ideas?

Are you rooted? If so, the app "LEDs Hack" in the market will do this. It can be configured to turn them off automaticall when plugged in, which is how I have it set.
Perfect. Thank you.

I have used this app forever... I never have home keys illuminate no matter what.
LEDs hack is a sweet app. Kinda glitchy but essential if you use it as a desk clock or read e-books on it.
Also has a plugin option in tasker!

Try button remapper from market. It allows you to edit what you use buttons for, both long and short press.
Why do you want to get rid of the power options?

Hardware button combinations database

For example :
Home and power button at the same time = screen capture
Thank you
On AOKP & CM9 screenshot is
vol. down & power

And I think we're done here ...?

Indeed. Aside from the boot combinations that's about it.
Epic-ly tapped from my Galaxy SII
Hold search button for voice commands.
Now we're done
well if were gonna go there, hold home for recent apps
and i wish holding back would kill current app like in MIUI
Menu key opens menu (in apps that support it).
The volume rocker obviously controls the volume... And if you hold the volume down it puts your phone on silent with vibration.
Lol... Now were done here.

I did this while trying to respond to this post and my phone suddenly rebooted. I'm not sure what I did wrong
Home brings you to the home screen when in an app.
And we're done

volume up and power until phone turns off and go into recovery
volume down and power until phone turns off and go into odin
now are we done?
Some ROMs allow for holding volume buttons to change tracks. I think we're done now ;p

Well, if you're going to get into the soft keys, holding Home brings up recently used apps and task manager. hold the search brings up an app selection including Sound hound if you have it installed.

Does anyone know if there is a way to manually assign something to a long menu press on stock? I know you can do it with CM7, but I haven't found anything for TouchWiz.
If your phone is on and you have cwm installed you can press and hold the power and volume buttons together and it will take you straight to recovery.

Power Button issues

Looking for some help to change my power button to wake my phone and use all the other shortcuts in the power button menu. The power button still works but I don't have a physical button . I removed it from my phone due to the button sticking and random resets. I'm running Project X 3.9 .

Check the quickpanel settings. I don't think there is a power setting. Rom Toolbox may be what you need for getting to the power on/off. As for the pother options, if they can't be added through the AIO, then you might want to try an AOSP ROM. There is a tutorial on how to add things to the power section. Try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2125196
Install this app. It will allow you to choose settings for the phone to turn on off, eg taking it out of your pocket, putting it down face down, etc. The E4GT power button is a known issue and the reason I got rid of mine. I didn't have this app at the time though. Hopefully it helps you.

I found this app that switches the volume rocker buttons to wake your phone and and gives you a shortcut to turn your screen off , reboot. I'm using the search softkey to power off screen.

This is the perfect app for the power button fix. It should be a sticky

It looks like you got a fix. But let me just add that you should also use nomoarhpowah. Which I highly recommend. Because your button may break completely one day and you want to be ready.

I will give that a try thanks for sharing
