Just got the ET4G and love the battery life.. But my evo3d screen looked sexier!
I hear this one is better, but it looks kinda *too* sharp as opposed to the 3d having a solid looking picturesque quality. Gradients appear pixalated rather that smooth and it seems that is because the 3d was a bit more blurry and the ET's bigger screen shows more flaws in apps made for smaller screens.
SO. is it possible to add a "sharpness" control parameter? Id love to soften up my screen a bit!
Don't know how hard that is or not. Seems like it is. peace and thanks!

Holy balls... I never thought I would ever hear anyone complain about the screen being too crisp.

Are you sure you picked up the EPIC 4G TOUCH?....hmmmm...I think you've been cheated!
What does my signature say? I simply believe this screen reveals the flaws in images.
For instance:
look at the gradient on the xda forum's loading page... its not so smooth.
Search for adobe in the all store.. I acrobat reader has horrific digital artifacts in that red frigging icon... I also may other icons look less than sexy.
Lastly, turn your phone off and plug it in.. The gradient on the battery illustration is horrid..

Dang, Swift key added some weird auto corrections in that last tab..
One more weird observation: when you change the screen mode from "Dynamic" to "Standard" or "Movie", the color hue changes oddly.. Look at the facebook App color blue on Dynamic and then look at the color blue After changing to Movie.. It looks greenish... Hmmmmmm

In super amoled light background doesn't really affect the battery.
Other than your really conscious about the battery life i suggest turning off the LV wallpaper and replacing it with black.

Actually it's been proven otherwise back in November.
Black vs White background at different brightness levels:

Overview:
Maximum Brightness White Image: 5h00m
Maximum Brightness Black Image: 10h52m
Minimum Brightness White Image: 10h20m

Don't surrender to colors!
Amoled works almost the same as plasma. Each pixel illuminates.

And brighter images use more power. Sucks manufacturers are limiting power consumption on plasmas by reducing power on bright images.

Umm yeah, welcome to 2009. We all know black colors use less power than white on amoled screens.

^seriously.
Also, who spends so much time looking at their wallpaper (especially a boring, solid color) to notice any difference?
I put black wallpaper I got those ugly black spots in the screen. blah
I used to use a black wallpaper because hey, why not, save on the battery, right?
Then I thought about how often my phone is actually displaying my wallpaper and decided it's a trivial matter. It's only ever a few seconds before I tap on something on my homescreen and it goes away. If I was constantly reading info off of widgets, at length, I'd care about it more.
These days I just load up whatever picture I think I'd like to see every now and then. Although I did like the clear contrast of pure black vs the icons etc.
Edit: Also the test linked to in one of the first replies, worth noting that Minimum brightness, white image is only slightly worse than the black results. Brightness matters more than color. Dial it down and look at whatever colors you like best.
Pssst...download no wallpaper app from market. Its a true no wallpaper display.

I've never used anything other than black on any mobile I've ever used.
I use a solid black wallpaper, but not to save battery. I just like the way it looks.

For me black wallpaper does matter coz if i open my phone its like 2 seconds before i launch and app leaving the home screen. ^o^

I suggest you themes with inverted apps like mine if you really wanna save something, a wallpaper does not saves that much

Doesn't this happen due to a low res not pure black image being used?
I never had that issue, so unless something is wrong with your display I suggest trying a different image

Just bought True Weather LWP and it's definitely one of the most beautiful wallpapers I've ever seen. There also a free version for testing.
Nice Setting
Try My Beach HD LWP.:good:

Give "Mystic Halo" a go, if you like a simple dark wallpaper ..just installed it today..
Thanks everyone for so many suggestions!
i think the original is the best.:good:
Can anyone point me to a space/cosmology-oriented live wallpaper? I'd only use a live one if I could get something of that theme, would appreciate it, thanks!
Apart from the 'Galactic Core' one already mentioned, try 'Asteroid Belt Free' and 'Shadow Galaxy'.
'Quads' is awesome, although it can be slow in some situations.
City at Night
Microbes
Black Hole
Space Robot
Mario

Silhouette
Use Force Fields . You can put it on top of any image and it looks awesome.
Not only it is very light on battery , the fact that you can change the image keeping the live feeling is awesome.
Stripe ICS LWP
Currently I am using the Galactic Core one, which looks fantastic on the S3 <3 I have tried a lot of LWP but I get bored of them.
Anyone have the 1440x1280 not 1280x1280 which is not the real size Thanks
Someone has to have them... Been looking for them so long..

What!? They really are 1280x1280??
S3 resolution is 1440x1280? Seems like i have to set wallpaper every time i reboot cause ICS/JB wont let me have vertical wallpapers and if i resize 1280x1280 to SGS resolution: 960x800 the dandelion looks very clumsy but if i only use 1 screen it looks perfect but i have to set it everytime i reboot and its nice with scrollable wallpaper so could anyone make a 960x800 for me? It'd be really nice
S3 screen 1280x720 default
here is dandelion at 960x800
http://db.tt/lt1jeQWy
slightly cropped but looks ok
don't really understand problem with it resting your wallpaper.
try this though
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
Thanks, the problem is that i want too se the whole green thing under the dandelion and it looks so sharp and original..
Check the screenshot thats how i want it but its not scrollable and vertical. So when i boot up i have to set the wallpaper again cause ics wont let me...
k I think I understand now u want it to look like does in screen shot but be scrollable .
I'm sure wallpaper are only horizontally scrollable
but does it not scroll ???or u want more.of the green in .
confused still
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
To the left we have the vertical the one that looks 100% fit because its 480x800 and i use 1 screen.
To the right The wallpaper is 1280:1280 and if i use it for my 960x800 screen the dandelion gets bigger and a mini dandelion in the right corner is missing
We maybe cant get it the way i want cause if you resize 960x800 either horizontal or vertical wallpaper will get too stretched out.
I
And i might be too picky..
I mean its not so big difference but i wanted to see if we could make a perfect 960x800
Here try this 1280*800
http://db.tt/HpdJsYJl
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
Thanks so much it's almost perfect the dandelion is little just little bigger but who gives a crap about that and you dont even notice it but i think the wallpapers you linked to me is little bit edited. Could you edit this (wallpaper_01) its the original i took it from KOVDEV SGS3 Walls app on google play. It looks better edit it like you did with the other wallpaper and thanks so much man i wish i could thank you more times on XDA! :victory:
- Short said you edited it perfect for my screen but not the real wallpaper edit the one i attached wallpaper_01. Thanks
Also check the dandelion_finally i attached there is the difference, thanks! How it was vertical without scrollable on left and your edit on right
k I'll see what I can do
to please but compared to original on my phone looks same but if u want that blue .
could be two blues are going to diff coz remember I think they changed the colour from marble blue to pebble blue . maybe 2 versions of dandelion .
http://db.tt/e5BlKx8l
try that

Im looking for a raining LWP. I see plenty on the play store, but I would like one that would overlay a background of my choice. Anyone know of one?
+1 I'd love to have one that's a birdseye view of rain falling and collecting on a street. For all the animation super hero nerds out there like the end credits of "batman under the red hood" I think that's the one.

I did see this one earlier today that is kind of similer. Its not birdseye, but is hitting the sidewalk.
I would like one that I could control the direction/angle the rain was falling and then choose a custom background to go under it to make it look like the still background had animated rain.
