Calendar ALWAYS shows weather - Desire General

I recently rooted my phone, so all the settings were factory reset. No problems there (thank God).
But now my calendar always shows the forthcoming weather for each day. I have removed the 'weather calendar' turned off the show weather setting, yet it still shows.
The only calendar I have is my google calendar that is synced to the phone.
Any ideas how to get rid of the weather reports?
Ta.

Ignore this. I have sorted it. Just had to stop syncing with google, then clear the storage and restart.

Hi, I've just upgraded to a HTC Desire from a Raphael and I have the same problem, what do you mean by "clear the storage"? Do you mean perform a factory reset?

Additional Google "Other Calendars" will not sync to phone

I'm having problems synching multiple Google calendars to my phone...
Under "My Calendars" in Google calendar (when viewing Calendar Settings via the desktop) I have my own named calendar. Under "Other Calendars" I have my wife's calendar, "Contacts' birthdays and Events", "UK Holidays" and I've just added a Google calendar called "England" which contains the upcomming World Cup Fixtures.
Everything in my original four calendars syncs fine - and if I use the "Create New Calendar" button to add another calendar under "My Calendars" that too appears on the phone, but try as I might I can do nothing to make the "England" calendar appear.
I actually had a similar problem just after getting the phone - but then it was with the "Contacts' birthdays and Events" calendar which I'd just added. It seems to me that whatever calendars are there when the phone first syncs will appear just fine, but if you add any extra "Other Calendars" they never show up.
I fixed the previous issue by doing a full system reset and starting over. That was fine then, because I'd had the phone less than a day, so hadn't set much up, but I don't want to keep doing this every time I want to add another calendar!
I found another discussion on the Google forums with a link to a solution that involved the following...
Settings -> Applications -> Manage applications
com.android.providers.calendar -> clear data
Forced a Calendar Sync and got all my Calendars
Trouble is, that was for a HTC hero, and there doesn't appear to be a com.android.providers.calendar app on the Desire!
I have tried...
Settings -> Applications -> Manage applications
Calendar storage -> Clear data
...That did clear everything and force a re-sync, but still the "England" calendar does not appear.
I've also checked it's not listed on the phone's calendar app under Calendars, and I've tried the "Add calendars" option there too, but that does nothing.
Has anyone got any ideas how I can resove this? I realise I could copy all the events from another calendar to my own one, but I'd rather be able to sync things automatically.
Thanks,
Matt
I've seen a few similar issues posted on various boards, without any concrete solutions, so I'm guessing it may well be affecting others too - although admittedly, it's probably not a major issue, as how often do people chop and change their calendars?
Would someone be prepared to try adding another calendar (via their Desktop) and seeing if they can see it on their Desire? (i.e. From Google Calendar, select Other Calendar's, Add, Browse Interesting Calendars, then pick one to try - you can always remove it later.)
I also tried...
Settings -> Applications -> Manage applications
Calendar -> Clear data
...but this didn't help either.
My only other thought was that perhaps I'd hit a limit on the number of calendars, but I'd be surprised if that was the case already?
If I go into the calendars option on the phone I see...
My Calendar
<My named calendar>
Contact's birthdays and events
UK Holidays
<Wife's calendar>
PC Sync
If this is an issue for other people too, then perhaps it could be added to the "Flaws & annoyances with the HTC Desire..." thread.
Any assistance appreciated.
Instead of clearing the calendars data, look for 'Calendar Storage' and clear the data for that, followed by a reboot.

On mine I see:
My Calendar
<My named Calendar>
Contact's birthdays and events
UK Holidays
PC Sync
My cousins calendar does not appear either.
Also, whats the difference between My Calendar, My Named Calendar and PC Sync?
Thanks Rusty, but I tried that the first time around with no luck.
Just to be sure, I just did so again and then immediately rebooted, but I still only get my original set of calendars back - no sign of the England world cup fixtures.

I think My Calendar is local to the phone (i.e. not synched to a Google account, so you won't see stuff in there if you look online), and <My Named Calendar> is the Google one.
PC Sync is presumably one used if your using HTC Sync or some other program to sync with a calendar stored locally on your own PC. (I don't use HTC Sync though, as I've no need for it.)
I've got 2 calendars showing on the phone, my one and the UK Holidays one I picked out from the interesting list a while ago.
Just tried adding Englands WC fixtures and it's not showing in the list, but working fine on the desktop. Forced it to sync up and it made no difference.
Thanks for trying this Rusty - it seems to confirm that this is an issue, and not just me...
As far as I can tell it seems to be a problem adding ANY additional calendars, as I also tried adding ones that had events today - just in case it was something to do with nothing being in the calendar for a few weeks ahead (as is the case with the World Cup Fixtures).
As mentioned in my original post, it looks like this problem may not be Desire specific, but it looks like we could do with a Desire specific solution/workaround, as the Hero one's not appropriate for us.
I may look into an alternative calendar app.
As far as I can see the built in one doesn't allow adding a new event and having it set to private?
It doesn't sync tasks either
I'm just worrying about having 3 different push connections (google for contacts, k-9 email for email and whatever calendar app for calendar) and its affect on battery life.
Had the same problem,it didnt sync right away, the next day it did though... weird.

I also read of possible delays syncing, and thought that may be the case here. I've had these extra calendar(s) on for several days now and despite reboots, clearing data and re-syncing, still nothing's appeared.
I'll keep an eye on mine for a couple of days and let you know it it appears.

Another issue I noticed was that events added before a certain date would not get synced. Simply opening an event on the pc and editing it, saving, then undoing the changes would get it synced. Luckily I only started using Google Calendar a couple months ago, so I didnt have that many events saved before this certain date and went through each one of them editing, saving then undoing the changes. Afterwards, all events synced ok.

I had a similar issue with some repeating events that began many months/years ago. In that case what I did was stop the repeating event then re-add them as new ones going forward. That wasn't such a pain as I only have about four of these for specific days, but at least there was an easy workaround!
A workaround for adding additional calendars that does not involve completely resetting everything on the phone would be nice.

Not sure if that did anything but while messing around I hit Menu > Add Calendars and they're all there available to sync.

Sync is Currently Experiencing Problems

I was wondering if someone could help me out.
Today when I went to settings, accounts and sync I get the below message.
Sync is experiencing problems. It will be back shortly.
It has been like this all day and I have tried unchecking and rechecking autosync. I have also press the button that says sync all. Still getting the same message.
Any idea what may be happening or what I can do? Thanks.

yes it is. I think I got it figured out. Under manage accounts the message was popping up for Twitter, but none of my other accounts. When I click on twitter, Sync Twitter was working perfectly, it was Sync Contacts (twitter contacts) that wasn't. I unchecked sync contacts and no more error.
I didn't really want my Twitter contacts to show up under my phone contacts anyway.
thanks.

[Q] Productivity lock screen issue

Hi,
I'm using the productivity lock screen on the one X, and even though I've specified that i only want to see my Google calender, Facebook birthday events pop up all the time. I unchecked the Facebook calender, but it's still there. Is there any fix for this?
Thanks

I haven't had this issue. But my productivity lockscreen is flickering like crazy!!! A reboot doesn't fix and its only that lockscreen. I don't think really coded this correctly.

Mine too. It was fine for two days and just started flickering today. Maybe the next update will help. A shame, it's really cool when it works.
This is gonna seem like a strange question but did all of you have an all day appointment the day it started going crazy?

I have the exact same problem.
I have both unchecked facebook calendar in calendar settings, gone to productivity lock screen settings and unchecked facebook. I have also repeatedly removed my facebook account but everytime i use the facebook app it automatically synces even when i have turned off automatic syncing. I have revoked all access to contact information via the facebook webpage under application settings. None of this makes a difference.
I am also unable to manually delete the facebook events and birthday events in my calendar.

The appointment that was showing when the problem started is "Tax Day" from Google Calendar which is an all-day appointment. It was fine before that came up. We'll see what happens tomorrow when it's gone. Like someone else said, trying to modify what's shown from the different sources in the lock screen settings doesn't change it from displaying what's already been selected in the master calendar app's settings (and vice versa).

Same here!! Now that Tax Day is gone I don't have any issues. I'm going to create an all day appointment and see if it comes up again. I wonder if an all day appointment has it constantly refreshing that screen.

Weird. I set up an all-day appointment for today using Exchange and the productivity screen handled it fine. Maybe it has something to do with Google calendar. Here's something interesting too. If you slide left or right you can scroll through what's shown on the productivity screen. Pretty neat.

I just tried to do the same and it worked fine. I did try and delete the "Tax Day" event but I couldn't. Maybe how it is made and synced caused the issue.
Had the same issue but:
go to settings --> Personalize --> Lock Screen Style
thumb to Productivity and click "Settings" on the bottom left
where it says "Display calendar events from" simply uncheck Facebook
There I fixed it
Someone already replied with those instructions - which don't work. I've got a gmail account with multiple calendars shared to it. When I uncheck all of them in the productivity lock screen settings, appointments from those calendars STILL show up in the lock screen.
Definitely a bug that needs fixing.
Exactly the same problem here...
I have unchecked the Facebook calendar but it still shows up in the productivity lock screen. This is very annoying!!
If you uncheck everything in the Settings, it won't let you click "OK"...
Yeah,i had the same problem to.I fixed it by removing the Facebook account in Settings and deleted all the contacts that were stored by Facebook.

same here
This has been driving me nuts. It only shows one event, some dude's birthday from face book. All I have selected is about three of my google calendars. I have multiple events in the next couple days, none of which are showing up, just buddy's b-day.
My #1 grip with iPhone was lack of lockscreen calendar (after coming form BB).
I am having the same exact issue on my phone as well. I'm on the EVO 4G LTE. Has anyone made any further progress with this?
Edit: still no luck after trying numerous things. I may just have to remove those extra accounts from gmail altogether.
Hi,
on my HTC One S the following fixed it for me:
Settings -> Accounts Sync -> Facebook -> Uncheck Sync Calendar + Uncheck Sync live feed.
Hope it works for you too.

Issues syncing with Google Calendar

Hi. I am having issues syncing my One X with Google Calendar. I have calendar sync on my laptop and use it every time I make a change, but not everything is syncing across - which is driving me crazy as I rely on it a huge amount. Some events sync, some don't and some are duplicated because I have moved them and they've also stayed in the original position...
I have tried everything, I think. I have deleted and reinstalled Google Calendar Sync, cleared the cache on the One X and (or course) checked that the Google calendar sync is enabled in accounts, but all to no avail. The only way I can sort it is to delete my Gmail account from the phone and then set it all up again, which is quite time-consuming and means that I have to then reset everything for that account. (I tried Synker and it didn't seem to make any difference - nor did it find a fault, it seems.)
If you could help, I would be extremely grateful - this is driving me crazy!
Note: I know there are threads on similar issues here and think I've gone through them all, but to no avail. Apologies if this has been solved and I've missed that post.
I use the app Calengoo, works okay here.
There are a few small issues I can't solve but it syncs always.

[Q] Calendar Issue - Please Help

Hi.
Today I ripped out the Samsung calendar that comes stock with Titanium and installed Google's calendar instead. When I attempted to use the new calendar, I wasn't able to sync at all - when I go to settings to choose calendars to sync, it says "loading" indefinitely. Is there a way around this issue, or am I forced to keep the Samsung apk installed? If so, could someone please post or link to the apk so I don't have to dig it out of a backup. Thanks a lot!

When you say you're adding an event to your Gmail calendar, are you adding the event through the app with the green trim or the app with the blue trim?
If you are using the calendar app made by Google (blue trim), much of the time to settle this issue, all you have to do is go into the app manager and find the calendar storage and wipe cache. I have never had a time where sync wasn't "experiencing problems." It is normal, and Google refuses to fix it. Also, when adding an event, make sure it has your Gmail address as the calender name or a calendar you've made in the cloud selected, because if it says "local" or something like that, it's only being saved to the phone and the phone calendar won't sync, similar to how contacts won't sync on their own to Google unless they are saved as Google contacts.
If instead you are using the Samsung app (green trim), you have to manually sync your calendar to the cloud. It's an annoying process that immediately turned me off to using it in the first place.
Thank you! Fixed
