I know I'm going to be beaten for asking a question that surely has been answered somewhere in here, but I've searched extensively and can't find my answer. The WM 6 upgrade I used doesn't include an option to acquire date/time info from my carrier/network (AT&T, US). I've found many WM6 versions where this ability has been cooked in, but is there a stand-alone file I can download to add this functionality to the WM6 version I currently run?
Thanks.
download any tweak cabs (like pimp my black, tweakui) and check the "timezone" box, soft reset
goto your network settings > timezone tab > check the box.
Can't find it either.

I'm with you, I can't find it either. I can find the option to have the time zone change automatically but not to acquire the date/time info from my carrier.
This involves 2 registry changes...
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL\NITZEnable=dword:00000001]
and
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\OEM\PhoneSetting\ShowNITZPage=dword:00000001]
Attached is a small cab that has those entries.
(These are also included in my personal WM6 tweak cab in my signature.)
Enjoy.
Thank You Soooo much!
many thanks Dr. P
been lookin for this, thanks
The problem I've found with enabling the time and time/zone update is that it doesn't work problem on the 3 network in Sydney, Australia. Instead of going to GMT + 10 Sydney, it always goes to GMT +10 Vladivostok !!
Unfortunately this messes up appointments and puts the clock an hour out because it seems to think it's in daylight saving...
Can't blame the 3 network though because it updates ok on other non-windows mobile phones.

I have hermes100-AT&t, i dont use it with AT&T so i have the ability to make video-calls. I have just upgraded to "Hermes_WM6_WWE_vp3G_v3.62.0_ATT_Full" but it doesnt have the video-call dial.(this is the only rom not crashing so please i would like a solution without getting diffrent rom if possible...)
can someone give me an advice?
thanks
u should really read thru the forum there are tons of postings on 3g dialer. welcome to the site. but to not get flammed i would for sure use the search function for "3g dialer"
doesnt work
thanks 4 your prompt answer, i have installed "schaps video dailer" it became purpel but the video buttom doesnt shows.
what should i do?
It was reported that none of the actual 3G dailer works on the new WM6 rom but Black's one (part1,part,part3). It can be found on the thread of my rom (near the last page I think); but it is a very very unclean way to get a 3G dialer.

Dialer should be located here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=1565446#post1565446
Question for you Fun_Key... What's the recommended way to load up the 3G dialer? Do you know if a package is available? I haven't had any luck with the package maker or with Schen's 3g either.
Thanks!

fun_key's method (part1,part2,part3) works fine but as he said, it seems quite an unclean way, i mean opening up the windows folder would now take me 10-12 seconds compared to previously 2-3 seconds.Aside from that, havent really noticed any other slowdown but i'd really like to know fun_key's other way of incorporating the 3g dialer....Fun_key if you could help us on this please? I noticed that u did it on the last version of ur rom and I'd really like to know how u did it...
What seems to slow windows listing is to overwrite ROM files. If the files are allready in rom, no problem.
What I did was something like that: Look into the part1.cab with a cab tool, copied all the data to the ROM and the registry. But 2 of the bmp located in the part1.cab are corrupted. You will find in a folder called wm6 extra or something like an uncorrupted copy of those file. Replace the corrupted file with the good one and you're done.
The part1,part2,part3 is an unpretty workarround to get rid of those corrupted file.
I also did some test with the beloved Kaiser 3G dialer, and everytime I made a video call my phone allmost crashed (work fine though). Any further information about this issue welcome (thread jacking on it's way )
Thanks Fun_Key! Will give it a try and see if we can come up with a new cab installer!
If anyone else has done this already, I would appreciate it if someone would let us know so I don't have to reinvent the wheel!
Thanks Everyone!

Please help, 3G video dialler not working for me.
Hi all.
Sorry for double posting my problem, but Fun_Keys ROM thread is now 28 pages deep, nearly 300 posts, and growing!!
This thread is relevant to my problem, so I add it here -
I have Fun_Keys WM6 1.5.2 on my UK T-Mobile Vario II hermes and after enabling the video dialling button using the advanced config tool, I still cant make video calls.
I've tried calling somebody with a 3G phone who can video dial other people. If he video calls me, he gets a service unavailable beeping sound. If I call him, I just get nothing but this dialog -
"Fail to make the video call. What do you want to do?"
Try again
Make voice call
Send SMS
Send MMS
Does anybody have any ideas what to look for to sort the problem out? I'm very new to custom 3g dialers and custom WM6 ROMs. I've taken a look around but cant find anything suitable. Its now the only thing I'm missing from the original firmware.
Any help would be appreciated.
Many thanks
Stu
the 1-3.cab worked just fine (slow but ok) thanks

Already in the ROM?
Hi Quakie
I was under the impression that its already in my WM6 ROM because I'm using Fun_Keys latest.
Regardless, I'll try it -
Can anybody tell me where I can find the three CAB files?
Many thanks

Hello people,
I have searched the forum all over, but cannot find a solution for this: on my previous phone I used to have a 3g button in the com manager. I enabled this button with the advanced schnap config tool. With this button I could switch between gsm and 3g mode, which was nice to have to reduce battery usage.
When enabling the button on the touch hd with advanced config, it won't function. Is there another way to create a working 3g button ?
Look at vSetBand at http://www.vanstra.nl
Only is it in dutch but you can use it.
cool i'll try it out and tnx!
nope it won't work, is there another tool for this??
Which device are you using ?
it is the touch hd, with dutty's 1.7 rom.
But with the original stock rom it also didn't work.
I guess the 3g / gsm switch button has to be handled differently on the touch hd then previous htc phones.
But is the button working for you??

I'm using an Touch HD also and I developed it specially for HTC devices.
On my Touch HD it's working with no problem at all.
I tested vSetBand continually on my Touch HD.
Problably Dutty's ROM is the cause.
Good idea, mate. Did you write it?
Is it possible to have an english translation?
Not working on a stock rom. It does not switch 3G<-->G. It also hangs the phone.
The vsetband tools works on my old phone, but not on my touch hd. A very nice tool with the 3g timer, I prefer it above the 3g switch in the com manager.
But to be more specific:
On the Touch HD the functions do work to disable/enable internet/mms/wap.
And the function to set network auto/gsm/3g does not work.
When choosing auto/gsm/3g it reconnects network. But never to gsm.
And when leaving the tool, you cannot relaunch the program for some mysterious reason.
Could this help you writing an updated version mr vanstra?
I shall take a look.
I have the dutch stock rom on my Touch HD.
Maybe is conflicts with the WWE stock rom.
I'll let you know when I have a new version ready (including english translation).

Can you test something for me ?
Can you look if the following registry key is available on your Touch HD:
\HKLM\Software\OEM\UMTS
This registry key must have a value 'Opmode'
Do you have an unbranded Touch HD ?
Thanks.
I have checked it out. My registry says at "umts":
"(default) (value not set) REG NONE"
Underneath the umts key, there is also one called "Bandselection"
When selecting this one, it also states:
"(default) (value not set) REG NONE"
My Touch HD is indeed an unbranded one.
Thanks for checking it out!

That's strange.
I also have a unbranded Touch HD but I don't have that registrykey.
The default is HKLM\Software\UMTS\OpMode.
Why does HTC use different registry keys ? Strange.
hi guys, had the same problem so installed 2 things and had to write a little script (with big pauses in the script or it didnt work).
Mort Script
http://www.sto-helit.de/index.php?module=download&action=list&category=17
and
VJVolubilis (from vijay555)
http://www.vijay555.com/?Releases
the script is attached, bit of a crap way but it works on dutty 1.7
Note : Need to edit the 1st line of the script in text editor to point to where VJV is!
The key it changes is HKLM\Software\OEM\UMTS and it toggles between GSM and Auto

We are talking about two different registry keys in HLM\Software\OEM\UMTS namely 'Opmode' (which I have) and 'bandselection' (which some others have).
Does your script changes both keys ?
HKLM\Software\OEM\UMTS is the only key it changes.

That's missing in Dutty's ROM. So is there finally a solution regarding the Band options?
as a title, i search an alternative program to nodata..any ideas?
thx a lot
I hope I have posted it in the correct section
Maybe you should explain why you want an alternative, and what you're looking for in the alternative. For me, nodata works fine, although I do find the pop-ups annoying as crap. "Do you want to exit?" Gee, no, I want this program running in the background all day. And why is "No" highlighted instead of "Yes?" It's trivial, but it annoys the crap out of me. We all know what the program does, and you don't need a pop-up for every single button. Lol.
u're right sorry, I was not clear ..I serch an alternative program to NODATA because you can not install it on the last pcarvalho rom [WM 6.5 for polaris]
Another soft for just disable MMS / WAP ?
If it's that, you can do it by tweak registry or use Advanced Configuration Tool.
I search it only to disable gprs connection
I have just been looking for this as well. I know I found a thread somewhere on this site for a program that would disconnect 3g data when it detects a wifi (or something like that). Unfortunatley, after lots of searching I cannot find the thread or app again
Not much use to you I know, but I am hoping it might jog somebody elses memory.
I know the program that you say, but it only disconnect 3g when it find a wifi line..Nodata in roaming, if I'm not mistaken
Thanks for your help you are very kind

What errors are you getting?
ConnToggle
I came across this program ConnToggle here on XDA but can no longer find it.
It is an alternative to NoData which lets you toggle the connections via command line or create shortcuts to toggle all GPRS connections on/off.
The best part is that it doesn't have the annoying prompts that NoData has.
No install needed, just copy to your device and run it.

Is there anyway to force EDGE on the Tilt 2? Have some spotty coverage with 3G and EDGE was better in these areas with prior phone. Thanks for any info.

Are you using a custom rom or the stock ATT rom?
All stock. Only a couple days old. It is a friends phone. I did just read about switching bands, but not sure if it is available without reg edits. Waiting to hear back from him.
you can turn the phone to gsm only in commanager
He said it wasnt availale. Had to do a reg edit found on ATT website forum to make it available under phone settings. Thanks for the help.

THIS OPTION is only available on the TMOBILE version.
This option is missing from the ATT ROM so you'd have to do some reg hacks...
Please share it btw, if you find the hack...
Sorry, didnt have it in front of me at the time. Here is the reg edit I found at AT&T forum under HTC Pure Tips and Tricks by Foxbat121.
Go to reg key [HKLM\SOFTWARE\OEM\PHONESETTINGS] and change "ShowUMTBandPage" to "1" to enable band selection page in phone settings.
