Sometimes my alarm clock does not show any popup to turn it off!!!
The only way to turn the alarm of is then to turn of the phone!!
The same thing is with the calendar.
What's strange it looks like the phone is changing its mind according to it's mood and sometimes the popup shows on and sometimes it doesn't.
I've found this thread but on my HTC desire Z there is no such option:
SETTINGS/sounds¬ifications/notifications.then in events scroll to reminders then tick the box for display message on screen tab
Click to collapse
Even if it was there, why would the phone behave differently without changing anything in the settings?
So anyone knows what to do?
It really makes me mad when it rings early in the morning and there is no f$#$$popup there.
Please help.
you may have to do a full restore
What do you mean? Would you be more specific?
ps. I've found many people have this problem (for ex. on Polish forum), no one knows what's the cause.
Just use alarm clock plus, it has nap setting if ur still sleepy long press for nap and minutes will pop-up very helpful for last minute haha

So I just overslept because my alarm didn't sound because my gingerbread phone was on silent mode and eh06 has a bug that keeps alarms from playing in silent mode. Then I remembered this app which comes on whenever you put your phone volume to silent and asks you how long. Its called Shush on the market. Handy workaround for the no alarm in silent bug by automatically restoring your ring for you.
Hope this helps someone not oversleeping like I just did!

Personally I'd consider no alarm in silent mode to be intentional. Silent is supposed to stay silent.
As for what you're trying to do, I'd recommend using Tasker. You can do pretty much anything you'd want to automate your phone for, with just one running process in the background. For this, you could just set a simple timer that resets your volume every night at 5am before the alarm goes off. Or you could replace the stock alarm entirely.

Well its not the behavior of the alarm in ec05 it is only in the leaks of gingerbread and even in the leaks if you eneable the smart alarm feature which plays relaxing sounds before the alarm those sounds play bit the alarm does not.

Ever used your XP to replace your alarm clock? Has it been a good substitute? I'm thinking of doing that... I'm wondering if it will work better than the broken one I have now and the cheap one I bought from Walmart...
I use it all the time, it's loud and obnoxious. Just the thing you'll need to wake up in the morning haha. It's easy to set too, and you can have lots of different alarms set, it's a pretty sweet built in clock/alarm.
Yes. Yes. It is very very good as an alarm.
I use alarm clock plus, it's free and more obnoxious than STOCK

I use the Xperia Play as my default alarm clock and I use the ' Xperia ' ringtone for the alarm. Sounds so nice in the morning
I have the dock and it makes the XP the best Alarm Clock ever.
when it wakes me up I never now which button is snoose and which is disable - I wish they were bigger in size and coloured red and green to make it more visible
Combined with the dock, it's my current alarm clock. I use the " rise up" melody, because it's nice enough, and it's been fine so far.
I've used it before as an alarm. It was good. It woke me up anyway.

Yeah, I guess this should all make sense since you can hook it up with a speaker...
Yup use it everyday, I have the XP dock sitting beside my bed, threw out my old alarm clock.

So what if the sound is off (from the power button) to not wake people up because of notification sounds... will it still beep or make noise to wake you up?
I place my phone right next to my head and I wake up to Edith Piaf, Inception baby!
I use the default alarm clock that's in stock, I don't like the standard ringtone, hence why it's easy to wake up every morning

The alarm clock will still go off as loud as possible even with sound off, no need to worry. I keep my phone on vibrate at all times and it has never failed to play the alarm sounds and wake me up.
Always! Stock alarm clock with the Piezo Alarm as the sound with volume all the way up... Very ear piercing! Even if I snooze the alarm for about 40 minutes or until my mum yells at me to actually get up.
please note i have had some issues with the alarm not going off even though i set a test alarm and i didnt use a task killer.

That exact same thing has happened to me maybe once or twice. It would just say that my alarm is set for the next day, like it was skipped or something.
I bought the XperiaPlay dock since it was only cheap for this very purpose.
Sadly, didn't realise I couldn't use it with any kind of case.
So I have been unable to use the dock.
Wow, this is some coincidence. I was just about to post and saw this topic.
Just got my dock. Only problem is, the phone doesn't go into the alarm clock mode as shown in the pictures. I guess it's because of some bloatware i removed. can someone please tell me what app is required for the dock-clock mode?
Also, like some people are using it, I would also be keeping it on a small side-table next to my bed, with both cables unplugged. Since the phone is plugged into the earphone jack on the dock, wouldn't that disable the phone speakers and therefore no alarm sound?
Now on ICS, my screen turns off while driving on every app other than Navigation or Vlingo. Any way to keep the screen on while charging or running specific apps like Maps or Music?
Thanks in advance...
Before you use them go to settings and change your screen timeout. Under settings you can also change it so your screen stays on while charging. Other then that check the settings for the app. I know Pandora has a setting to keep the screen on or let it auto dim.

Where is this option in settings? Used to be there in GB, cannot find it in ICS.
Download Screen On from the market. That's what I use to keep my screen on while charging. You can set it to stay on for whatever app you want.

Several options...Screebl, Screen On, and my favorite...Tasker
Funny you ask this question. I've been struggling to keep my phone awake when on a phone call via bluetooth. I work out of my home office and use my phone with a bluetooth care speakerphone. Unfortunately the usual timeout settings don't work when in a phone call, so I couldn't simply set my screen timeout for, say 1 hour, and keep it on during a call. It would still turn off in both stock OS and CM9, which I'm currently running.
Yesterday I figured this out. I now use Tasker with the Secure Setting plugin. Secure Settings has a setting for "Wake Device" and I use the options of "Screen Bright" for Wake Type and "Manual - On" for Duration. When the call ends, I have an exit task for "Wake Device" with options of "Screen Bright" (not sure it matters) and "Manual - Off". Works very well.
But for other apps (that don't overide the system timeout settings), I simply have a Tasker profile that sets my timeout settings to 10 minutes. Could set it longer, but that's sufficient for me.
If you have Tasker, I recommend using it for this purpose...one less app needed. However, I've read good things about Screebl and Screen On, so both are worth a look.
btw -- be careful in leaving your screen on. The Amoled screens suffer from burn-in.
Just a word of advice you shouldn't leave the screen on for amoled devices. I have had this phone for about 6 months and my notification bar is slightly burned it but not to annoying since its always there. However my ex girlfriends samsung fascinate had icons burned on the screen. You could always see them. That was pretty annoying.

Another vote for Screen On. I've been using it for a while with great results.
Hello,
I have had this issue since CM13. Though no alarm is set the alarm clock would show in the status bar and below the clock widget.
It is showing to go off at 10 PM and I do not know where this comes from. Anyone with the same issue?

I found the culprit. I had a tasker app installed to put my device into airplane mode at given times. For some reason that app set an alarm which I could neither see nor turn off in the clock widget.
I replaced the auto airplane tasker with another app and the problem is solved. Hope this helps someone else, too.
