Hi there,
I have got an M1000 and I was reading through the upgrade posts.
Is there a straight forward way to do it and if anyone has done it, can you please point me to the link.
Thanks
Alan

nope, you're wrong. all the devices have the license from MS (jasjar, vario even the older one that had the development versions on) so we've already paid for it.
Instead Tomtom is totally different case.
Morallitiy
Ok Guys,
don't worry.
Moral is a nice thing, and it's amazing the self interpretation.
Regards for all and a merry christmas for all xda-developers members

If someone really wants dodgy downloads, they only have to search the net.
I would rather keep this community as it is and not risk losing it.
I confess to not being squeaky clean on this issue but there's a time and place......
What about a forum for the ipaq hx4700? I know that this website is for HTC PDAs but, the hx4700 was also called the Roadster in some markets and made by HTC. Considering that there's a thread over in the upgrading section with 595,000 views and almost 2000 posts on the hx4700 (and that's just one thread) I think there would be a strong interest in a dedicated forum. Many of the posts are from newbies and not by developers but we do have Kozhura and Menneisyys and many other dev types who have posted quite alot about this device in the past, with Kozhura now on his 4th version of WM6. There seems to be a big following for this device even now with a kitchen having been adapted by vivi to suit it. It would be great to have our own corner somewhere on this wonderful site for our community.
Thank you for the consideration.

Yes, sounds a very good idea
Dirk
Great idea!
Based on what I was able to see this had a 2003 rom and came out in 2004.
We have added a lot of forums for the new devices and I am not sure if there will be enough users to justify a section a few years late.

That is true, however HP did do a (poor) WM5 upgrade and there are at least two unofficial WM6 ROMs. The hx4700 was ahead of its time and still powerful compared to many on the market today; probably because it doesn't have an inbuilt phone.
There is this thread which is nearly up to 2,000 posts; many of the smart phone forums on XDA developers have nowhere near as many posts in total.
If there was a forum just for the hx4700, then maybe that would entice other hx4700 owners to join up to talk things other than just the ROMs.
I bet there are a few super users that would be happy to moderate a dedicated kx4700 forum too?
You guys don't give up do you ?
OK I admit you do have a valid point. I will put it forward to the sysadmin for a section under
Other HTC manufactured phones
Thank you
Thanks again for the consideration. It is an old device but I think there's quite a bit of interest in it.

Yes, you should really make new forum for magnificent hp iPAQ hx4700 (HTC Roadster).
Support the idea.

The hx4700 rocks - nothing comes close for screen size / use IMO.

Hello hx4700 users,

Your help is greatly appreciated.

maybe late but still great...i have a bit of roblem with screen, but the rest is ok...and it really was ahead of it's time
I'm also interested in this. I think it would fuel discussing on the hx4700
Hi, on my hx4700 (alkor wm6.1) when I paired my bluetooth audiphones, it`s fine, just if it is like new, no progrmas, but whe I charge some progrmas, I can`t connect the devices, there are no way to use it.
Just when the ipaq is just hard reseted. Anybody know what happen?

I would also like to support a new sub-forum
614c Subforum
That would be great!
I'm looking forward to it too...
I'm +1 for subforum!!!
I'm purchising an Ipaq614c right now,and i think it is one of the best ppc on the market at moment, but i dont think the administrators will create a subforum for ipaq..also if we are in 200 asking for it..
Many many users asked for a Samsung i780 subforum(they really need it,also becouse i780 display compatibility)but answer is always the same..NOT
Only HTC ppc can have subforum here.
If you find or create a connected community for ipaq 614,let me know
Sub forum for ipaq 600 series would be great
+1 for subforum 614c
+1 I don't own a 614c but I do own an HTC Sable am frankly a little annoyed by threads for the 614c cluttering up the sable subforum
+1 I would be grateful too

You can have my vote as well!
same here, we really need it.
+1 for subforum too
+1 from me for sub forum.
Btw, I personally think the HP 612c is a very fast and responsive piece of device compares to my Hermes, very stable with the WM6.1 cooked ROM. It would be very nice to have a sub forum here for sharing.
Would be nice to have all 614 stuff in one place...
Hi guys and gals, maybe some of u have noticed that our legendary, , friend and cooker Tom Codon, has been back to XDA.
Just made this thread to check out, what do you think, if another Tom Codon rom will come out, how it should be?
Cheers.
Welcome Back Tom
Welcome back, Tom, it would be very interesting to try a new rom for the mythical HTC.
Thank you.
TOM is a Genius
I would love to have a ROM from him, he is a true genius, what say TOM! Looking forward for your next super ROM
Oop's Tom_codon thread ?
Really an unexpected , some friends here still remember me
I'm greatly appreciated it
And i still having a Artemis device. So will make some roms for funs
This times , some roms of cookers use LZX mode xip for make a big storage or some Clean Rom version having size less than 50 mb. With Rom less than 50 mb we just can Flash it from SD card , can't Flash with RUU.Really inconvenient ?
Yes , i think ..
So yesterday i contact with cmonex and she done and new USPL Artemis can be Flash Rom with any size !
This is really nice for Artemis forum ?
Cmonex will release for all in today or tomorrow , keep looks in Artemis mobile 6 forum
Thanks to ark666 , gigi_o , shahdave for this thread
Cheers guy..!
Hello Tom and welcome back! You have been missed, really you have.
Welcome back!
Welcome back and a big shalom from sunny Israel!
I am looking forward to the new rom you might already be preparing for us.
Can't say I am happy with the other cooks, because I keep getting a lot of battery drainage and loss of memory.
I will keep an even closer look at XDA
Wow!
Welcome back Tom!!
We really did miss you. I've to admit that I've been trying some roms lately
and right now I am using Yue's rom because it's fast and stable. Also I like the black theme.
I always liked your roms and they were always fast, stable and good looking!!
Good to hear that you still have an Artemis device.
Will be checking out the forum for your new rom.
Take care and good luck!!
Hi Tom, really amazing to see a legend again.
In the meanwhile I changed to xperia section but my Artemis is still rocks and is used for navigation, musikbox and so on. Anyway your roms have been the best most stable and a big breakthrue of all rom developing communities - and still the most read threads in some communities - legendary Tom. Now if you are back looking forward for some news! I still havent found a stable Iolite ram (touch crusie 2) with footprints working and fullly integrated to Artemis! Love to see some news on the good old (and often bricked!!!) artemis device.
Oh wow, hey Tom.
Don't have my Artemis anymore so I can't try any new ROMs for it
Do you dabble in any Kaiser or Diamond cooking?
hey
welcome back TOM
i'm really glad that u came back
can't wait ur new rom
and btw tell us what ur new device to buy one

eagerly waiting for a cool new ROM
He told me that he just have the Artemis, the others went for a walk.
So i guess that we are a bit lucky.
Plus we also need some "crazy" moderating on Artemis forum.
Cheers.
Welcome back TOM...
You just arrived again now, and we ear about a new USPL coming up...
You a god..
Cheers
...as long as his moderate behavior persists, I second all the above...
greetz
