Hi, who has got insurance?
If I root my desire will the insurance be void?
If I lost it is it easy to get a new one?
This is with T-Mobile by the way.
Has anyone had any experience with them?
I need replies ASAP please because I need to order it today if I go with them

Sorry if this is wrong section, wasnt sure where to post. I recently shattered my evo screen. asurion sent me a brand new one through my insurance. They want the shattered one. I want to keep the broke one and repair it. If i tell asurion it was stolen will i get charged? will they blacklist the esn? What happens to people who pay insureance and their phone gets lost and stolen? i dont get why they want me to return my broke one. I read if i dont return it i will be fined. But what if it just tell them it was stolen?
Prepare for a insurance fraud flame, but what if it was lost?
When they provide a replacement, THEY own the one being replaced . . send it back and avoid the heartburn . . .

Asking for advice on insurance fraud is against the rules.
I think we can consider this thread done...
I have an original EVO (bought day one) and I can actually upgrade for cheap but i have a broken phone now.
Glass is a mess and was wanting to turn it in to Ins.
It is rooted and I was wondering if they are still getting picky if you turn in a rooted phone for a claim!!
IF SO?... can I use this method to UNROOT before sending it off?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=900875
just make the claim, don't tell them it is rooted. they are not going to check. besides it is your to root or not. just don't volunteer that info.
Upgrading your phone and claiming insurance for it since it is broken are 2 different things. You can go to store and upgrade if you are eligible, no matter the condition of the phone. If it is broken, smashed, lost, stolen, then you can claim it and get a replacement model of the broken phone.
I hope this helps.

WOW, THNX GUYS!!!!
That was big help!!
Yea, insurance and warranty are two different things. With the warranty, you should be unrooted, as they can void it if they find you are rooted. For insurance, they don't care about anything, as long as you pay the deductible. It can be in a hundred pieces, rooted, bricked, etc, they dont care.
My charging port recently broke on my Verizon Galaxy Nexus so I had to get a new phone sent to me. Sadly I had a small crack in my screen, so i had to get a new phone by paying $99.00 and going through insurance (without warranty). I was just wandering do I need to unroot and relock the bootloader before sendning my phone into Asurion (Verizon's phone insurance company). I dont feel like I need to because they arent replacing via my warranty, but instead through insurance. Thanks in advance to any advice/ answers!!
If you're paying a deductible and getting a replacement, it doesn't matter what you've done to it.
I didn't think so. Thank you for the info!

Hey guys I'm real excited to finally get a one, but I have a few questions before I get it. First has anyone bought their One from best buy? How is their insurance policy? Also, I am real confused about rooting, I wasn't too worried about it considering that this is a great device stock, but once I saw that newt has a rom for it I want to run his cause his on the Rezound and Inc2 were amazing. The thing is that will it be possible for me to root? From what I can tell it was only possible for a short time until they shut down the Verizon one on htcdev, so it is the only people that are rooted now are the ones that got it early?

as for the best buy insurance, they are now like verizon! i got mine a couple days before it changed to having a deductible. i got it so i'm grandfathered in to not having to pay it if i have something wrong with it. as far trying to root, the only thing right now is to have it s-off via sonic's way(javacard). which means to send it out to him to do it( price is around 50 total i think) if you have a backup phone send it out. when you get it back you can unlock it. here is the link http://htc.s26tech.com/ just place the order and it is worth it. i'm going to do it once i get some money!

I think Sonic's only charging $25, but then when you add shipping w/ insurance, that's where you get closer to $50. Mine is done, worth it !

it started the first of september. i got mine the 30th. you should be grandfathered in as well as i am or whoever else got their insurance before then. we don't need to pay any deductible, but anyone else afterwards will have too

Hi I was wondering if anyone had any experience with a used eBay g4 and getting any repairs done thru square trade warranty service. Any repair and especially the bootloop hardware issue? Thanks
Anyone? Guess if no one has used it is not that good?
