Flashlight
Hi!Install the htorch.Be careful with the full brightness because of the plastic melt.
Magyarul:Én a htorch nevü alkalmazást használom.Csak vigyázz vele mert ha a teljes fényerő mód is műküdik akkor 30 másodperc után is kárt tehet a ledben.Alacsony fényerőn viszont tökéletes!
link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=440405
google: htorch v3.2

Thx a lot, I will test is.
( Éljenek a magyarok! Vicces, hogy egy nemzetközi fórumon épp egy honfitársamtól kapok segítséget. Mégegyszer köszi szépen. )

"Torchbutton" is a more simple program, which works perfect for binding the program to a hardware key, in my case i've set long press of the "OK" button to torchlight, so whenever i need light, i just hold ok for 2-3sec and BAM the led is on =) very handy!
Of course you could just have a shortcut to the program on the start menu,(default) or if you use some today plugin (like SPB pocket plus or most of the dozen popular today-screen programs) you could have a shortcut at the today menu.
Edit: i've also tried hTorch, but i find torchbutton to do the same thing, but only faster, takes less memory/space and overall simpler to handle, it also got a SOS-function, so you don't miss out on that.

Very happy,I hope I could help.

Ever heard of a 'search' button?

What kind of 'search' button???
BTW I test the hTorch and work fine. Exactly that was what I need.

Resize the X button?

I have never seen anyone ask this on any of the many posts I have read and I would like to know if their is a registry tweak or some other way to make the X button bigger? It is near impossible for large fingers to hit it and this would make it easier to use without having to get the stylus out.
I would agree with you on that one. Making one-hand use easier.
Hopefully someone has a solution...
It is not a solution but ...
you can use one of the 2 "ok" hardware buttons the phone has.
The one in the left side is the one I use the most, and once you get use to the buttons and the jog wheel, will find they are very helpfull in the one hand operation of the PDA part of the device.
Hope it can help untill someone post or find a way to get what you are looking for...

Great suggestion!!!
Respect K.I.S.S. rule!

Thanks
I have to admit, I don't remember about using the buttons and should get use to having them and their functions. Thanks for the tip about the two ok buttons.
But ok button don´t close programs, only minimize...
I use SPB Pocket Plus 3.2. You can assign a hardware button acting as a close button.

Try this app called 'Magic Button' (freeware) at the link below, you can map it to an application button, it only has a 71kb footprint and therefore it will not use much valuable space on your devices memory. I have not tried it on WM6 but see no reason why it should not work.

Magic Button made the X bigger!
Installed this app and it's great. Currently on WM5 at the moment so can't say if it's WM6 compatable or not until I change back to a 6 rom.

Agreed. Tapping with my index finger never works, but I AM able to hit the X button if I use my thumb with the fingerprinty side of my thumb facing out and away at an angle of about 45 degrees from 12:00 position.
I just place my finger in that position and then press down; my fingernail hits the X button spot on.

closing application with hardware keys ?

hello guys, i ve got x - button, i ve sbp pocket plus but they all need screen tap to actually close the application on hermes, so when i press the OK hardware button key it only minimizes any application running infront.
any idea how to actually close application from the hardware button ?
regards,... to you all..
there is another topic thats fairly similar to this. although an EFFECTIVE answer has not been found (well for me anyway)
a program called AE button pluss remaps all the buttons for different purposes. it works very well but im having some problems when trying to remap the OK buttons.
do a search for it. and give it a try. if it works. post back.
I've been using this one...

Its commercial, but closes apps and clears memory as it goes. IMO nice little app.

I try this software and really close the apps with the OK button, and it is not hard to configure the buttos (i found it easy) but when using this app in my TyTN the scrollwheel stop responding... so at the end, it was more important for me use the scrollwheel than customize the hardware buttons so i quit using the AEB software...
I think that other people here has used the AEB app without problems.

Thanks for the info guys.. peace ..
well guys, ive tried AEB plus again and after a bit of fiddling around, ive managed to get it to work
naufil, is it working for you?
on that note, i have found a glitch. as soon as i try to map both the side 'OK' button and the front 'OK' button, they dont do anything.....
button #4075 works. but as soon as i map #405C to close active application as well, they both stop working

Mapping Close (Real Close) To a button

Hi,
Since SPB Pocket Plus is not really working with the Shadow, I decided to reflash from scratch and not to use it anymore. I got everything I need from other apps, exept for one very important function.
SPB Pocket Plus has a [Close] function that you can map to a button and it actually closes the app not just sends it in the background. I use the HTC task manager to do that on the screen, but I want to map it to a button button 5 to be exact I been searching for few hours now to no avail.
Basicly to review I need to be able to close (really close) apps with a hardware button (button 5). Please help. THank you.

It is bit slow the 1st time to bring up the start menu after a SR, after that seems ok.
@yozh
I mean Wisbar Lite, not Wizbar Advanced/desktop. you can't run that iphone theme with wisbar lite.
Another option (to map the CLOSE function) is AEB plus.
mortscript is a little too heavy for me

But VJOkButt is a very focused app, for one (and a bit) functions only.

I just need it to close stuff thats it, simple, and you app also doesnt close activesync and aeb does. so thatnk you again.
Is it just me, or am I the only one who has the actual '<close>' option in buttons in my Start>settings>buttons option? Has anyone looked?
That is what I use so I have it mapped to the usual CommManager wasted button since if you want CommManager you can simply keep the silly thing in your bar at the bottom.

You can use SmartToolKit then by pressing <- you will have a gadget for volume & profile and any user programs you want to assign, also has a XP like start menu that again is customizable, i know this isn't exactly what you asked but is a way to control volume without jogger.
Thanks for your response but i have tried smrt tool kit andi, not a big fan of it. maybeif someone couls point me to a thread or tutoria to write something to do this or if its just a simple redg edit

Simple solution, use Mortscript to write a volume control application and assign it to a hot key. I can whip you up one once my schedule clears up.. but probably not until this weekend.
thanks a milion man so what kind of coding would it be?

Mortscripts are really simple, it uses a batch script language.. details and examples can be found on Mortscript and I believe we have an extensive script archive here on XDA
cool thanks any idea when ull have time to do it?
+1 that would be very cool! I keep hearing from the girlfriend what a POS the Joggr is (wasnt a big problem for me with bluetooth). I would switch the joggr to JUST scrolling duty and call it a day!
change the joogr settings to scrool it works with me i can change the volume during a call and while playing music etc
yes, we know...the problem is that it is easily bumped while talking, and hard to navigate.

I wrote one up quick this evening. This is a ultra simple script that will allow you to set the volume to max, mute the volume or select a volume level ( 0 to 255, 255 being max volume) let me know how it works for you and if you like this weekend I can refine it so it looks a bit nicer.
I tested it out on my Dash and once assigned to a hot key (speed dial) it can be called whenever you need it. You will need Mortscript installed of course so I added the latest mortscript cab to this archive. Install it, Mortscript, then copy over the two files Volume Utility.exe and .mscr to your device and run the mscr file both the exe and mscr file must remain together to work properly.

This was just a quicky I can add step up and down controls (low, midrange high and loudest) for ease of use, and make it a bit more user friendly (like allow the center button on the Dash to act as the ok button) I have been wanting to use Morts Butons so this might be a good time to try them out (makes the interface more adaptable and nicer looking). Since it works for you I will get a refined version to you this weekend.
Learning the script language is pretty simple, Google Mortscript and download the manual is the best way to learn it, that and looking at example scripts. I use Mortscript for everything on my Dash.. I have it nearly automatic anymore. It turns on in the morning, downloads my feeds, checks and downloads the weather and checks my google calendar then rings the alarm if I need to get up and go to work, if its the weekend it turns back off after all the updates are done and then turns on a couple hours later so its ready to go for me. I use scripts for everything (yeah I am lazy lol)
thats crazy man again thanks a million
New version
Ok, here is a new version of the Volume Utility. I added Low (30%) med (50%) and max (100%) settings. You can still adjust the volume by entering in a value, and of course mute the volume. A sound will play after any volume modifications to confirm the level.
I cant use Mort Buttons, its for PPC not smartphone but I am going to add the ability to choose your favorite colors and I am still working on adding step up and step down volume change ability via the directional pad
enjoy

thanks man ill give it a try when i go home im in drivers ed .... i tryed to download it from the mediafire link u posted and i got an error but ill try it on my computer when i get home.
ugh sorry for late response been busy. works awesome thanks
Thanks Bupah That a big help! Is there a way to make the speed dial setting the space bar or something that isn't going to blast a tone to the other caller?

PSShutXP Power Button

hi!
I've installed PSShutXP and it works like a charm!
I was wondering how I can change the Power Button settings to assign PSShutXP to Power Button!
Registry? Tweak?
Thanks
I don't know if this would work on the TP2, but for the kaiser, you just go to psshutxp's folder (in program files if it's installed to your device) and copy the .exe, then go to the windows folder and make a shortcut and name it short_power or long_power depending on if you want it for just a short press or a long, delayed press. let me know if this works, I'd like to be able to still do this when I get my TP2
now working!

and does the power button actually turn the phone off?? cos when I installed psshutxp on my tilt the power button just turned the screen off. but it didn't turn the PHONE off
You can find an updated PSshutXP cab file that replaces the LongPowerButton press here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=475762
Hi, i just looked at the homepage of psshutxp, however i fail to see what additional benefits i get from this program? Anything that this program does seems to be already built into the preinstalled software. Am i missing something here?
