Hi all
I have downloaded a file which lists (as POI's) which petrol stations in the UK have LPG pumps. the file is downloaded as ttn.ov2 (which I renamed when d/loading to lpg.ov2). I have placed this file into the same directory on my storage card as the current POI file. Does any1 know how to get TTN to 'see' this file or merge into the current POI file.
I have a Touch Pro 2, Win Mob 6.1, TTN 7.450.
Cheers to all.
As far as I can remember you just need to copy the ov2 file to your map directory and start Tomtom.
When it has loaded click the screen, click change preferences then show POI on map and click the one that you want to show.
I think thats how you do it

Hi
I updated my XDA2i with the above keyboard dll posted on this site and now the buttons do not work. It seems that this dll does not work on the XDA2i.
The original dll was overwritten because for some reason, the dll did not appear in explorer (even when hidden systems files are visible) so I was unable to rename it.
Does anyone have an original copy of the above dll so I can restore the XDA2i to its former glory?
Jonno
i looked in the windows dir on my XDA2i to get the keyboard.dll file for you but i dont have one, where can i find it
John
Hi
For some reason, you cannot see the keybddr.dll file in native windows explorer or on the XDA2i itself, even though other dll's are visible. If you install the Resco file explorer product, you can select the option to view all dll's so this allows you to see the file.
In any case the updated dll does not seem to work on the XDA2i so does anyone know if the current version will be updated?
Cheers
Jonathon
This dll does not work on PPC W2k2 SE so you need to use AE Button Plus. You can get this from searching this site.

Hi,
I've just updated my M2000 to WM5 and have followed the guide of wiki to install TomTom 5.1, but despite running the correct voice.cab file, TomTom doesn't register that it's installed, i've checked that the files copy over to the TomTom directory, and have even tried replacing the files using copies from my friends PPC2003 installation that works perfectly.
Any ideas?
Cheers,
Andy
Weird. I have tried several of those voice files, and they all work. Have you by any chance installed to a memory card? That doesn't seem to work very well.
map is on sd card, but all the other progs i've installed to the main memory. I've only tried voice05 but as far as I'm aware that is Jane/UK which is what I want.
Cheers,
Andy
You have to make an extra directory tomtom in the \tomtom map.
\tomtom\tomtom\ and in here the sound files *.chk
Belsj
I have tried copying the .chk file to both \TomTom\TomTom as well as \TomTom and \Storage Card\Great-Britain-Map\TomTom and none of these have worked. Is there something else I should be doing?
Cheers,
Andy
In total you have to copy 4 files
mobile device\tomtom\CurrentMap.dat
\TomTom\TomTom\data05.bmp
\TomTom\TomTom\data05.chk
\Program Files\navigator\data.chk
\Program Files\navigator\tomtom navigator.exe
\Program Files\navigator\navigator.cfg
that's all.
data05.bmp and .chk is for example, you can choose one of your own voices.
Look this up on your device other wise i send you my files so you can try them.
Good Luck
Belsj
Hello,
i have precisely the same problem.
Tried everything mentioned here without success.
Where do i find that *.bmp file? Its not located in the voice folder on the original cd. Ive put the voice cab file from the cd on my storage card and it installed fine, it installed the mentioned files except for that *.bmp file ( wich i assume is just a stupid bitmap?). I moved those files according to above instructions - no success.
Any help is much appreciated.
I fixed it,
make sure that theres just one copy of those *.chk files on your pda. Delete all copies in other folders except those in the \tomtom\tomtom folder.
Worked for me, i hope it helps you.
Im pretty new here and just got my BA not tooo long ago...I used to be a trreo user now im hooked on my BA.
I see alot of software that comes in a form of a cab file...does anyone know how I can load that software on my BA? thanks alot!
hey mate and welcome!
if you put the cab file in your pc folder; you'll see that the description is "zip file"....that's because it's the only format microsoft recognizes...in a way its also true as the cab file is a compiled program ready for installation. what you do is DON'T unzip the file in your pc; rather cut/copy and paste it directly in your ba (via activesync or in your sd card). put it in a folder that's easy to find; say "my documents...personal" (or you can make your own folder to put in cab files). use your ba's file explorer and go to the folder...from there double click (via stylus) on the cab file and it will automatically install itself. btw, if you copied the cab file in your sd card you can also execute the installation there....no need to paste it in your my documents area.
if you're using wm2005; upon execution the unit will ask you if you want to install it in the sd card or internal memory....that's really up to you depending on the size of the file you're installing.
hope that helps

thanks alot Robson.
Ive always looked past cab file programs b/c i couldnt install it. I hope this thread helps other newbies too. I searched and couldnt find an answer.
is there anyway that can install cab files direct from pc to ppc?
sorry for the late response; was in china for a week.
unfortunately, no. i don't think there's a way to install cab files via pc. if you do unzip a cab file; you'll notice that the files are something like:
0000124
009890
or something like that....can be as many as 20 lines of code...but scanning through the entire zip will not give you any .exe files which can be executed via pc. if you have a card reader installed on your laptop, simply copy and paste the cab file on your sd and from there install via your ppc
hope that helps

Can someone please help me with this.
I've got a p3600i and have installed TomTom and the Australia v6.75 map onto the internal memory.
TomTom loads up and goes through the normal initial setup but then comes to a screen saying "NO MAPS FOUND".
I have tried putting the maps on the root folder of the device; in the my documents folder; in the program files/navigator folder; in the tomtom folder... nothing works.
TomTom seems to look for maps on a storage card by default. Is there a way to force TomTom to look for maps on the internal memory instead?
I would prefer to have my maps and TomTom loaded onto the device and only have music/pictures on the storage card.
Thanks in Advance
That's strange, I have TomTom on storage card and it works flawlessly...

Ok got it to work. Here's what I did.
1. Install TomTom cab as you normally would; it should put TomTom.exe and a Data file into the "program files/navigator" directory.
**BEFORE YOU RUN TOMTOM FOR THE 1st TIME***
2. Create a new folder called TomTom in the "My Documents" folder.
3. Move the TomTom files from "program files/navigator" directory to "My Documents/TomTom".
4. Delete "Program Files/Navigator" folder.
5. Move the folder containing your desired map to "My Documents" e.g. "My Documents/Australia"
***Soft Reset***
6. Start TomTom from "My Documents/TomTom" folder and go through the initial setup as per usual. It should see the map now. Once everything is setup exit the program.
7. Recreate "Program files/Navigator" directory
8. Move all the files in "My Documents/TomTom" to "Program Files/Navigator"
I've been trying a million and one things so I'm not sure that this is the most efficient way to do this. There might be a quicker and easier method, but that's what worked for me.
If the above doesn't work, try going "Setting"-> "Bluetooth" on "FTP" tab then make sure the two options "open bluetooth browser" and "open file sharing" are both unchecked, exit "Setting" and try again.
By turning off these options to make sure TomTom won't try to look in the bluetooth browser which confuses map searching when TomTom is activated

Wow, how do you get the maps to fit in internal memory? My European map is almost 1 gig... I'm just curious, why not put the maps on a miniSD?

The AUS map is only 100MB. The p3600i has about 180MB of usable ROM. I prefer to have my miniSD for just music & pictures. I like to run all apps and programs from the device itself.
Just personal preference I guess
Okay so I got TomTom Navigator 7 and a UK&Ireland map. I've installed TomTom on my MicroSD card and it opens, now it says there are no maps. Where do I put all the map files? I've googled and can't find a solution.
So far I've tried the root,
SD\Program Files\Navigator
and
SD\Program Files\Navigator\maps
Also I'm getting the BTTrayCE error thing, I've searched for the DLL's on my device to rename them but I can't find them -.-
And finally, I've heard about a lag in the app, how can it be fixed? I found a link but lost it -.-
Thanks

what:
app 7.???
map v???
they don't work all with each other. this would be your problem.

folder with any name on root
pna file is defining name and there you can find a version number too
(\storage card\UK&Ireland\<files> OR \storage card\map1\<files>)
for raster, voices, postcodes they can be on root or in PF folder
Also I'm getting the BTTrayCE error thing, I've searched for the DLL's on my device to rename them but I can't find them -.-

\windows\BtCoreIf.dll
\windows\BtSdkCE30.dll
just delete them. they replacing rom files with the same name but 5 years newer verions of broadband bluetooth driver
by deleting, original ROM files will reappear
you can't see them because file browser is not showing them.
There should be about 7000 files in \windows folder
(hidden,rom,system attributes)
you need different file browser. total commander is free and cool
another option:
2 files is the whole application, no regs.
backup those to SD card, copy shortcut file from \windows\start menu\programs,
uninstall TT
and copy them back
tomtom navigator.exe
data.chk
And finally, I've heard about a lag in the app

sorry, i didn't. can't help. just don't run it from SD and if you can install it on fresh ROM or burn to rom so they'll not be fragmented. and don't keep to many POI switched ON
but I heard about that it likes to crash in rhodo and mine is like hell.
still trying to figure that out, it's not crashing when I m not moving. could be I had wrong sett for gps.
