[REQ] password protect a file - Touch HD Themes and Apps

I have some notes that i want to password protect, without having to zip/unzip everytime. I just want to click on the file, and before it opens, it prompts me for a password, i open it, edit whatever i want, and close it back, when i wanna open it again, it asks for a password again, as simple as that.
Is something like this hard to make? does anyone have one made already?

anyone?

I think Resco Explorer is what you need.

How to uninstall Intellipad?

I installed a CAB file called Intellipad. I just wanted to have a feel of XDA Mini on my XDA IIs.
But, now I want to uninstall this application, there is no way that this is possible until I do a hard reset. This is what I know.
Is there any less tedious way of doing so?
Thanks,
Siddharth
can u not delete it from the windows directory? i dont know as i have it and like it, but dont use it, and havent tried to remmove it. i would have thought if u look in windows and find the intelipad files if u remove them u get rid.
That would definitely stop the application from running, but I don't think it would "remove" it entirely.
Windows as an OS does not facilitate "uninstalling" the application just by deleting the files.
I already did what you have suggested, but that still leaves "Intellipad" as a choice in the "Input Type" menu at the bottom right.
Thanks,
Siddharth
practical tip
I assume you have a cab file for installing the intelipad.
open the cab file on your desktop to identify all the files that was inatalled at your phone (you may use win zip).
now that you identified all the file you may delete everything at you phone manual by finding them one by one (nice to start at windows directory).

Good Mobile on Dash

I have tried to install the Good Mobile messaging application on the S620 and the installer identifies the phone incorrectly. So the functionality of the Good Mobile messaging is not like it should be. The installer seems to only understand what type of phone it is if it returns the "T-Mobile Dash" words from the ROM. is there a way to modify the ROM Name even temporarily so that the app will install.(crazy idea but thought i would ask)
any help would be greatly appreciated.
There's a text file: \Windows\ModelName.txt, that you can copy out of the handset, edit and drop back in. At the prompt to overwrite, say yes. Should take care of it.
~Cheers~
P.S. Here it is attached.
That's an excellent suggestion... but I how do i get the file deleted? it's read-only and it won't let me change that....
cgg
You just drag it into the window and click ok to overwrite it. It'll do it AND add the appropriate attributes automatically.
~Cheers~
P.S. By window, I mean, open up My Computer, open Mobile Device, and navigate to the Windows folder.
If it doesnt let you overwrite it from your desktop, try doing it on the device with a thirdparty file program, like totalcommander or similar, just put the edited file in the root directory, and copy it and paste it on the device itself.
I had to dl'd the TotalCommander to get the file changed. Thanks for the suggestion!
Still doesn't seem to solve the problem. The information being retrieved from the phone must still be returning something other than T-Mobile Dash
I was able to have it replaced without issue, and straight from the desktop. Weird how you guys had to use an app to do it.
~Cheers~
Did you ever get GOOD to work? I am on WM6 and can't get the OTS installer to work on my device. Do I need to go back to WM5? How do i do that?
i could be wrong but i don't think good officially supports WM6 yet.
Thanks for the tip about the file, now my phone has got it's original name.
Ka.
Yah GOOD does not work on WM6
I had to go back to WM5 for GOOD to work, and now it works great with my companies exchange server. There are some things i don't like, but i can live. Does anyone have any different themes or homepages that are compatible with the GOOD software?

A software that lock folders (password to open)?

Is their a software that I can get to lock any folders I want and it would need a password to open it? Tried the xda-wiki, but can't find anything.
Thanks!
Look here.
Resco Explorer has a folder encryption function as well...
Thanks a lot fam, I will try them out when I get home.

Remove "Today" from WM6.5 start menu

When pressing the start menu you obviously get a list of the shortcuts in the \windows\start menu\programs folder. However, where in the heck is the "Today" link coming from that seems to only close the start menu? I want that puppy gone Registry? I don't know where to even start looking there
Not sure how to get it gone but I think if you tap-N-hold you can send it to the bottom

yes i think i could do that, but what fun is that hehe. i wanna hack it out of there baby!!
I would like to remove it also. Completely useless when you have a home key.
have u tried going to /windows/startmenu looking for this icon with file explorer and choosing "read only" and "hidden" under properties?
Try going to HKLM\Security\Shell\StartInfo\Start and deleting the Today group of registry keys. Don't forget to soft reset.

Huh, I think it's impossible, but you can try to use one of the SPB softwares to make your Today screen more like your Start Menu

impossible is a pretty strong word Not going to use SPB, I don't dig it. Something is putting the icon there so I will be patient and see if anyone finds the answer

well i did look with the "show all files" checked. not sure what else you mean
ok found a work around use hcomber to change the icon to a transparent png LMAO. I know i know, not ideal but if you move it to the bottom of the start menu and make it invisible well.... out of sight out of mind. This isn't solved obviously, but its a start.
Hi Mallman
This is my workaround: there's more icons than the home that I don't want to see, so I added a folder in the start menu and I moved all of them to this folder I called Unused.
This way I don't remove or tamper with icons that I might need later, and I have a smaller menu.
By the way I didn't test the possibility to make this folder hidden, here's another possibility if you want to explore it...
Has a fix for this ever been found or is this a dead thread?

3. Save your modified file

Reason why i ask is because there is a program i have with a widget and that widget is configured with user name and password, now what i wanna do is have the same program installed twice so i can have the second widget on that second installed program, configured with a different user name and password.
Is this possible
Pretty sure that's a no, but I'd like to know if it is possible as it's be handy
Have you tried pulling the apk, changing the name with some apk editor (also the com.###.### stuff) and see if it installs next to the other app? I have no idea how to do this but it might work.
