Hi All,
I just wanted to say a BIG THANKS to all on this site that produce tutorials, help, new ROMS , and advice...
I was one of the first to own an M700 3 years ago - I loved it then - even though all my mates were getting Nokia 95s etc...I went for the trinity...im glad i did.
In my opinion, its still a pretty good phone - and with a new 6.5 rom - looks and acts even better than ever!.
I had a prob where i actually bricked it yesterday partially but with posts on here, i was able to put it right...
Ive got the fingerkeypad working today and im absolutely made up with how the device looks (software wise)...
Im gonna get a new black case off ebay over Xmas and thatll top it off - itll feel brand new.
Again, a big thanks to all....
its a good site..

Hello all,
My girlfriend is still using a really old flip phone and her phone company will only let her upgrade to equally crappy newer phones.
I found the unlocked 621 for ~$290 and am considering getting it for her. I know its almost two years old now but do any of you think it is still worth its weight?
As well, I've read in a few places about an alarm issue that is extremely annoying apparently. How prevalent is this "phantom alarm?"
Thanks in advance!
290 is way too much for one, but if your part of the world that's normal.. then hey. The "phantom alarm" only applied to the older WM6 ROMs. I havent heard of a 6.1 ROM to have that problem.
Yah you can probably get it cheaper on ebay, and no alarm problem in the 6.1 rom or the Rose Rom... So I would definitely reflash the phone with the new rom if you do end up getting the phone.
dash/excalibur
You can definately get one for cheaper, even a used one , ebay , also try www.craigslist.org. From there you can check depending on where you live, look at this for an example http://orlando.craigslist.org/ele/944565416.html
dash
See how much he wants.http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=456615
I ordered it on Wednesday, and I got it Friday! Yippee!!
I love this phone! So much nicer then my old Wizard! I thought it would be bigger then the wizard, but it isn't really. And, actually, it is a good bit thinner!
Any how, I am working through the settings, and am trying to resist installing any software on the phone until I have used it for a day or so. Just until I have a feel for the phone at factory specs.
Later
Enjoy your TP2, but you should of posted here:

I have a chance to trade my Ooka 3vo 2.0 rom Dash for a mint Samsung Behold........should i?
i got til tonight to decide.
i wouldnt, my dad has a behold, its not that great of a phone, and you cant customize it very much.
What??
Are you talking of getting rid of Excalibur to get another brand?
The model looks good but remember: You won't have the great support of this site with any other than HTC devices
Good luck on your decision
thanks smjfosho.......i just finished looking at the behold forum.looks like you can customize alot.....but thanks for your reply

I think if you really want a behold, get one when you can afford to buy it, and keep the dash, you won't regret it. I got a htc Tilt now and wouldn't think of getting rid of my dash, ever since I bought it , it has had a case, screen protector, it's been over a year, never seen the floor, and it still looks brand new. I still think that the dash is a bada$$ phone.
Don't do it!
the reason I got a Dash as my replacement phone is because of the helpful people on this forum!

You are right.I do love my Dash. It`s badass looking thanks to Ooka and everyone here who helped me.I just thought a Behold would be an upgrade,a step up.......but, i`m keeping my Dash.
Thanks guys.....
Great decision!
As rolo said, when you got some extra $, buy another device and do the upgrade but keep your Excalibur!
the only downfall of the dash is the camera (wish you could upgrade it somehow LOL), but i know its an old phone.
i love the dash's simplicity yet being able to do everything.
Well i'm just hopeing that the time of the advertised swap is over and you didn't do it
Just gonna echo other users i use Tilt as main device yet sat next to me on the trusty computer table is teh Dash still looking the same as it did when turned up oh except the OS.
I'm looking into a Tornado but not gonna sell the Dash
Didn`t do it.....
I kept my Dash. You all are right......Save $ and get another phone, but keep the Dash...It`s like family here!......Since we all are family, who wants to borrow me some money?
Take care y`all.

HTC The Only Way Too Be
A somewhat diffrent post =) but i need to say it. Just a basic huge thnx to the dedicated BA developers and programers. You seem to be in control here, and maybe its a good thing to have a phone that not to many uses nowadays (Less crowded) Thnx D-Two and Chef Tony for your never ending dedication. Made my starting point as a new user on BA forum very easy. Tonys guide how to flash this phone is just great and to the letter. Only wish you could elaborate more on radio flashing since i cant for some reason upgrade just as easy as the rom (wont accept the radio on second screen its no info at all) .. i have 1.12 and thought 1.15 could help issues i had on 6.1. Luckly i have no issues on 6.5 so far with dropped GPRS connection (weeeee).
Picked up my my old Qtek 9090 and flashed with 6.1 and then to the current 6.5 and though scary, it worked (Phew). Many years since i used a old WM device and having a Leo today, this is scary compared in flashing proceedings.
I installed some basic need apps according to me, and Opera 10 is really best on a BA in comparison to the HD2 and other new phones i used/tryed. The possibility to use buttons and arrow keys really makes for smooth surfing and next to non movment of fingures (and mouse arrow!!!). I just saw, what a breeze, a true one-man-hand surfin experience...now if i only had 3G =)
I loved my BA when it came out, and only reason i droped it for a new device was that it broke down. So why not get a new one then? Well here in Sweden phones came and went fast and when i was hoping for a replacment, it turned out they stopped importing it since they claimed it to be a device with a lot of problems ... so i had to upgrade =( (Cant say i hated my HTC Universial thou)
But 1 year ago, i helped a friend moving and guess what fell out of a box, a Qtek 9090 model of BA and since he didnt use it he gave it to me. With 6.5 now onboard my love continues. If it only had the 3 swedish letters on the hardware keyboard ... or the possibility to hold down a, and o to get alternetive letters it would be turnd in to my nr1 daylie driver.
I am thinking of scraping up some money to buy a mint condition one even. I see them on our eqviliant to e-bay here now and hen and its itchy. So thnx BA community for restoring my love for this device.
If people never scratches the surface of there WM devices they can surely miss a lot. Thnx to the dedicated work of the likes like my fav rom chef D-Two and master mind Chef Tony i now enjoy a Blue Angel that feels great and is up to date. Though i belive the HTC HD2 to be the best phone ever made, i must say, all modernazation is not of good. BA suprised me a lot in usability, and there is only 3 factors to really make it a dated phone today, despite a great dev community.
1. Screen: Man its lovly to look at with modern software but it wont help the fact that brightness and resolution and the good old angle problems is there. Its barly usble in daylight.
2. 3G radio. Being a media monster as it is, it still suffers in my point the fast internet usabillity. While still very usable as it is, if in a thight spot it takes to long to make things happen.
3. Storage space, 4GB is little for a media consumer like me. 8GB would have made it ok atleast, but 4GB just dont cut it anymore for me on a device like this.
So, there i said it. But it still dont stop me from loving this phone, and as it is, its my second daylie driver since i use 2 phones a lot. And all the Iphone users etc, they just cant get there head around what this is (there too young to remember prolly).... shall they fear it, laught at it ... they dont get it, and that is a fun disraction in everyday life. Only wish i have left was a way to boost the CPU. Remember xpuScalar and ....1 moe, cant remember the name, to do the trick. But they where pay software and apperently my key has expired at Handango (lol its only ...what, 6-7 years ago =). Prolly wont work with 6.5 anyway, wich is a shame. Btw, can you restore a 60MB made 6.5 device to original rom? Guess my Swedish rom is gone forever =( If i get a second BA i think of having this restored to original just for kicks.
Anyways, a long post for a short word, thnx once again all Blue Angel lovers.
Hey everyone, although I really love my captivate glide, I'm sad to say that it is time for me to get a new phone. Since I first got the phone, I've flashed about 10 different ROMs on it, had three different batteries, an external battery charger (fried the charger on the actual phone from overheating), and even cracked the top of the screen. Although the phone has been through a lot, it is still going strong, except quite a bit slower than when I first got it. Nevertheless, as I have grown to love the XDA forums, and rooting, flashing ROMs, etc., I am going to be buying a OnePlus One. If you haven't heard of it, the OnePlus One is a phone that just came out about a month ago that comes pre-loaded with Cyanogenmod. However, the phone is not readily available for anyone to buy it. It requires an invite to be purchased for its high demand as it has flagship specs for only $300. Regardless, I feel that I will be receiving an invite for the phone soon as I have been on their forums for quite a while as well. My question is, Have any of you heard of this phone or are trying to get it? If so, please inform me as when I get my invitations to give out, the first people I would give them to are the members in this forum Although I haven't been very active on here, I still do appreciate all the work being done to keep this phone alive. And even when I get the OnePlus One, I will still keep my good old captivate glide to test out new ROMs. That's all. Thanks.
