Dear All,
I just manage to change the casing/housing for my prophet.
Now I my speaker (the one located with the green & blue LED) didn't work when make/receive call. But could only hear when I activate loudspeaker. Maybe I placed the speaker wrongly. Need help on the speaker correct position/orientation.
Another thing, I accidentally drop one button (I suspect it was the reset button) and I didn't know where should I place it. Could anybody provide a photo of a location of the reset button. Do I need to solder it or something?
Thanks in advance.
Best regards

try to slide down the "button" while talking (the sliding one on the side)
I think what he means is that everytime he makes a call, it is always on the loudspeaker and not the normal speaker used for calls.

i have similar problem also , but last time it was on and off thing but now everytime i make or receive a call it goes loud even though i didn't turn the loudspeaker on, and also if i connect the wired headset and soft reset i can't use any speaker while making or receive a call , have to use the headset. need to know whether it's a hardware or software problem
My Dopod M700 also experienced this problem before, I try so many ways but didn't work. Finally, I bring my device to HTC service center, luckily still under warranty. They said the problem is due to the mainboard is faulty and they change the mainboard and everything goes normal again.
Hello!
I have a strange problem. I can't turn off the rear (loud) speaker on the phone, when making a call... It is always on, even when turn off the "speaker on" button...
I made a soft, hard reset, and i was installing another OS, but nothing, the speaker is always on when making a call...
What can be the problem?
edit:
all the tones are a bit higher frequency sounds...
Thx
Hello man i've the same probléme everything was fine with my artemis P3300 and Boom yesterday when i've tried to make a call Loudspeaker always On,Soft reset Hard reset Try another ROM but still no result it just Booring Please if anyone have an idea on how to fix this thank's a Lot Wish we could find a way out CheeseE
I have also this problem. Is there any way to disable the speaker completely? This will always be better.
Thanks.
Anybody?
It is very annoying
problem turning off the speaker.
I've had the same problem.
The problem is that the phone ear speaker can't contact the circuit board.
Search the forum - there is a theme for this or go to the nearest gsm service or if you want you can find here how to disassemble the gsm.
I disasambled my artemis, and cleaned the contacts, but the prblem isnt solved...
The ear speaker is good, i tested it...so i dont know what to do
Or I need a hard reset?
Hi guys,
First of all, many thanks to all the contributors of this forum !
I'm always impressed by the tons of info I can find ... and that I use
I was wondering, I wanted to do a soft reset,
So I "naturally" inserted a pin inside the small hole on the right side of the phone.
I know I'm stupid ... but I used to have a wizard before, and that's exactly how it was (you did not need to remove the cover to do the soft reset)
Well, I'm not sure I damaged the microphone ... and I would like to test it !
Could someone let me know how to test this microphone only ? what is it used for ?
Thanks a lot !
Hmm, I was going to suggest that it's used in speakerphone mode, but I just did a test and it seems like it just uses the normal calling mic at the bottom for that.
Maybe it's used for the sound when recording video?
it is used for noise and interference reduction
Right, here’s the situation, I replaced the screen on my HTC Desire HD a few days ago and literally the first boot since there was a Wifi notification of a ROM update also, so I did it... (Orange UK Software number 3.13.61.5) anyway, since replacing the screen / updating the ROM, the Microphone has gone ridiculously quiet when making or receiving a phone call and if I open the Voice recorder, I can barely hear my recorded voice back, and the only way people can hear me when I call them is if they put it on loudspeaker and still put the phone to their ear...
Ok so initially I thought that this might be a hardware issue as I have been in the phone, however, given the fact that I can hear some playback via voice recorder, this means that the Microphone is working..?
So after a bit more investigation, I found that if I remove the bottom panel that covers the SD Card and Sim Card slots, then Voice recorder works perfectly (but my signal drops off completely so I can't test a phone call... *Are the 2 little gold contacts to do with the antenna?*) So I have come to the conclusion that it must be software? As obviously when these 2 little gold contacts make connection with the phone again, ye it enables me to make a phone call, but wrecks the microphone...
On a side note, I have checked the little Microphone hole on that bottom panel and shoved a pin through it and it’s as clean as a whistle so it can't be a blockage of any sort...
So something is happening when the bottom panel is on the phone, those 2 gold contacts tell the phone to do something? Provide an antenna for it but in doing so almost muting the microphone at the same time..?
Any ideas on how I can fix this or where shall I start? Could this still be a hardware issue? Shall I strip the phone down again and pay special attention to a specific part? :S
Please Help!?
Thanks in advance!
Adam.
which rom are you using? if that's a stock rom, it is highly recommended that you try one of the custom ones from development section (sense 3.5 roms)
Yes, its a stock ROM that was pushed OTA... It's a friends phone, I have a HD2 so I'm very familiar with flashing roms etc... but I'm going through the custom roms section and I can't seem to be able to find a good guide as a starting point..? I see a lot about Downgrading? and S-Off..? (Does that mean Signature Off?)
Thanks very much for the reply though!
Ok... I've flashed a custom ROM now, and a different radio '[ROM] Android Revolution HD 7.0.3 | High Quality & Performance | O/C | Legendary' is the rom I used...
Exactly the same... It's as if the microphone level is right down when the phone has signal/network as if I shout the voice recorder picks stuff up then...
Is there an App I can use to tweak the gain or something on the Mic levels?
I've had the phone in bits again and cleaned out everywhere, theres no dust build up or anything of the sort so I'm sure its not hardware related... but then if the ROM is completely different then it can't be software either can it..? :S
Cheers, Adam.

I'm no expert on electricity and all that but can it be possible that the power input onto the mic is being too low so that it is not functioning properly due to a newer screen sucking up a higher power? but then you mentioned that by removing those plates, it works fine...
I couldn't come across a fix as it seems that not many people had this problem so it seems that it is more of a hardware problem but i'll post asap i find something
EDIT: maybe this
Thanks for the reply! I can't understand what it could be... I have figured out though that if I hold the phone horizontally in front of my mouth and talk then it works... so I'm completely stumped as to what it could be...
Is there no way I can edit some sensitivity figure somewhere? :S
Cheers, Adam.
No mic issue continued

Hi All
I have had the same issue with no mic imput when calling someone on a HTC Desire 500 phone.
My problem started when I paired a plantronics bluetooth hands free device to my phone and started to use it.
While using the PK100 device all was perfect and no issues, but when I turned off the hands free device I now have the same issue no one can her me through the phone mic, no sound at all. I believe this issue is both software and hardware the software needs to switch the hardware (mic) on and off
It is as if the mic has been switched off by the (PK100) bluetooth hands free but the software on the phone is not re-enabling the phone mic so now I am in a situation where i can only use my phone via a diferent mic headphones or PK100 hands free.
I can also add that while in a call I have the option to switch from the hands free on the phone, or to use the phone or to use the PK100 from an in call option all works ok but the mic on the phone will not reactivate. this seems to be an issue with the software not activating the mic.
If anyone has any idea I would like to here...
Hello, i have microphone problem on my M8.
HTC One M8 has 2 microphone you know. On the front( Main microphone ) and at back.
My microphone which on the front isn't working but my second microphone which on the back is working properly.
If i open the speaker, my second microphone which is on back is working during the calling.
So i have a question for you... Can i solve this problem without repair my microphone?
I have a suggestion for developers. Can you change the main microphone with a software or some special settings ?
If we make the main microphone the second one (on the back), we can solve this i think.
So, thanks for everything...

Not sure that's possible mate the back mic is used for noise cancellation during a call afaik , I'm not aware of any mod to accomplish what your asking, unless mixerpaths has anything in it that may bypass the main mic, i can ask around to see if something might be possible for you but i can't promise anything unfortunately a repair might be your only option, although a Bluetooth earpiece might suffice it would be an easier option for you mate.
