activate "lock all buttons except power button"
As a former HTC Hero user i really miss the option to wake the screen using the bottom hardware buttons.
On the Desire you have to use the power button, but i hate the placement of that button.
Is there a way to use the "menu" or any other bottom hardware button to wake the screen?
BUT i still want to have the lockscreen, so the app which is mentioned in the tricks section on this board isn't cutting it for me since it will deactivate the lockscreen in order to let you use other hardware buttons to wake the screen.
Any other solutions? Isn't there some kind of "hardware button mapper" available like on windows mobile devices?
Just got my Desire today, so I am actually curious about this also.

Yes, but only possible on rooted handsets, no?
Probably :/
damn, don't want to root my desire as i have heard of random bricks.
another question:
is there an app to lock the screen using a widget?
so after i'm done with the current action, i don't want to use the power button to lock the screen, but a widget or a shortcut.
Is there a widget available for that? Or even better a widget to turn of the screen?
I have Lockbot Pro installed and I can wake the screen with any of the buttons at the bottom. Pressing Menu then gives me an 'unlock' bar on the screen which I can press to unlock (or I can swipe the screen in the standard way). Allows you to unlock without pressing the power button at all.
thanks for the hint. the app looks quite nice, but it seems to be very slow.
When waking the screen it takes very long until the lockscreen is shown, and it always shows a different lockscreen?!
also is the an option in the pro version to define a key to lock the screen?
So i.e. i wake the screen using the center navigation pad button, can i define that pressig the button again should turn the screen off again?

Hello,
I'm currently using http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1426339
AN-Droid 2.0.0. It is a great rom, but I have one problem. If i press navigation
button once the screen turns on and another press unlocks it (the defult power
button unlocks it as well). How can I reset this feature, so only power button will
unlock the screen?
Thank you
I am having Phantom issues on my note 2 4.1.2 When it goes on lock screen and I press the home key it will not be locked and the task manager will appear. If I lock my phone and press the home key it will work correctly.
Hi, how do I disable the long press action on the home screen? I accidently long-press it all the time, so I often return to my phone and find it in settings instead of my home screen.
Don't think you can do that!
