... which way round to you put your TP2 in it? Do you have it screen facing the magnetic flap or battery?
I don't know if it matters if it does in not in respect of the screen however, it does where the power button is (for me any way).
If it's facing the magnetic flap, can't get the phone out of the wallet without hitting the power button so will have it screen away.
I hold the case in my left hand, phone in my right, & slide it in (screen facing me). The power button is at the bottom of the case, not near the opening, so i don't press it when i take it out.

Hello.
I removed the back cover to clear my tablet from dust, and when I assembled the device I found that power button had become lower in cover's body than volume buttons are, and now it has worse push feedback (less significant click and no click at all when I press it near to its edge). Taking cover off and back on changed nothing. Have I done something wrong and break or lose something while putting the cover back on the device?
Some M8 phones have the problem of the power button getting stuck in the plastic around it and thus keeping itself pressed.
In this case you see this on the screen: "to restart your phone press and hold the power and volume up buttons for 10 seconds."
OF COURSE you can get this fixed through warranty.
If you don't want to do that cause you don't want to wait, you can do what I did.
(I am not responsible if this doesn't work well for you and I guess that after this procedure they won't replace the button for free anymore)
Steps:
1. Get a flat screwdriver. Heat it over stove, but not until it.s red, just until it is a little hot. It's better to heat it a little, try it, if it doesn't work heat a little more and so on. Otherwise, if it's too hot, when you touch the button it will melt everything around it and way too far into the button.
2. Put the screwdriver on some surface and keep it steady with the end sticking out. Hold the opposite side of the button a little pressed so that the part of the button that catches on the plastic sticks out.
3. Bring the phone towards the screwdriver carefully so that you melt that edge of the power button just a little bit. Just melt the edge, so you give it a slope like this / , not the entire side of the button.
Finally, you should get the same results as you can see in my pics. It's barely visible that the button has been tampered with and for me it's way better than waiting for weeks for the warranty to repair it.
Cheers and be careful not to get that screw driver too hot or too far into the button.
LE: be careful that the IR blaster is on the left side of the button, if you look at the phone from the front. In my case I had to melt the right side which is about 3/4 lengths away from the IR blaster. If you melt the side of the button that has the IR blaster in it, I'm not sure what would happen. The IR blaster should be fine, but the curvature of the button that you add by melting might deflect the light. Not sure.

And your IR is still in order no damage from heat etc?
The IR is fine. It's on the other side of the button. It's about 1/4 th of the button. so 3/4 distance away from the melted part.
Not sure why this is a problem as the button doesn't seem to go far enough in to cause this problem, however it's not something I would do. I would have just got a small thin implement and just added a little Vaseline or Petroleum jelly around the sides of the button, making sure to work it down the sides of the button. That should be enough.

Here is the real question. Why does this suddenly start happening after owning the phone for 2.5 months and it never being dropped. What has changed is I started using the Dot View Case right before this started happening.
please help I scrubbed the power button

What do you mean by "scrubbed"? Not much information in your post
Hi! I would like to ask everyone if you got a home button that is not level, that is somewhat slight depressed towards the Left or Right Side? Mine is just like that, though the full-function of the home button is not affected. I noticed that you can actually apply a bit of pressure and the home button will actually move. And there are times that the home button would feel like it wiggle but only very slightly, which is strange to me.
Am I alone or does anyone have the same issue?

Not alone. I feel it randomly as well.
Mine is slightly lower on the right side and if you look at it side on and press it with a nail the whole button depresses. Maybe it was originally designed to press?
I have this as well, I didn't bother RMA'ing my phone as it doesn't bother me almost at all.
No, it's not designed to "press"..
It's happening because either the left or the right side of your glass around the button isn't seating properly to the frame.
Look closely at the button and clamp the glass down against the frame. See how the gap get's smaller?
The way the button is secured in place is the rear of it resting against the internal frame and with the glass on top locking it down in place.
8:45 onwards for the innards

Edit: And if you clamp the glass down, when you release the pressure the glass rises back up again slightly and so does the button thanks to the small amount of adhesive around it. Now the button appears to be level, well it is level with the glass but when you press the button it's going to "fall" back down to the place it belongs: against the frame and appears to not be level but it's the glass that's not level.
What do?
a) deal with it
b) RMA and hope the replacement is better

Ok. So what about it moving/wiggling so slightly at times? I tried leveling the button by applying a little bit of pressure on the other side but it quickly returns back to it's original place, which is slightly depressed towards the right side.
Double Post, sorry
I'm finding that my phone will wake if I barely touch the power button.
If this happens while my phone is in my pocket, the screen is so sensitive too, that my pocket lining will unlock the screen and then start pressing buttons and turning off alarms or doing other odd stuff.
I do have "pocket mode" enabled. Any suggestions on how to prevent accidental unlocking?
I'm using the Spigen Rugged Armor case right now, which does cover the power button. Have a Trudia DualShield case on the way and hopefully that makes the power button less sensitive.
Turn display away from your body.
If the power button is defective, replace as an unexpected failure will prove very inconvenient.

Then you should put on a case which will prevent from switching on the power button.
Hi! I faced the exact same issue for some reason. I initially thought it was my case because I removed and placed my phone in it a couple of times. Was super annoying. I ended up removing my case and flashed Oxygen OS on my phone (coming from Evolution X). Faced the same thing on Oxygen OS as well initially, but later it settled after a while. Safe to say the issue resolved itself on its own, and I haven't faced it again.
Had problem with sensitive power button. Almost every time I was putting my phone to sleep it went double press and opened the camera.
Had this on stock kernel, Omega, but with arter's the issue is gone.
Maybe the app Double Tap would be helpful...
blow it out with air. i think it's because everything it so "tight" because of the waterproofing, but mine constantly opens the camera when i press unlock until i blow it out

I be careful with that. Using high pressure air inappropriately can have unforeseen consequences...
ask the victims of shop pranks
I went from CRDroid back to stock ROM and have not had the issue one single time over the last two-three weeks on stock ROM (with arter kernel).
Could be coincidence.
Or could be that custom ROM does not have finely tuned pocket sensors?
Hello guys.
I bought a new LCD assembled with frame, and new power button/fingerprint sensor.
All components are back in place and seem to work, but the power button does not always return in its position, especially when pressed on the side and not perfectly in the center. Sometimes it remains pressed causing reboot and bootloops. I had exactly the same issue with the previous frame and button, so I think the new components are not defective.
I think instead that the metal clip that holds the button in place and makes the spring effect for returning it in position (see pics) has lost elasticity.
What do you think about it?
I couldn't find the spare part. Could you point me to some dealer (maybe on Aliexpress/ebay)?
Thanks
