In the BIOS of your laptop disable boot options so it can't be triggered by a USB device?

I have a 3rd party charger purchased from Korea that triggers ADB whenever I connect my phone to it, and somehow, I do not get the sudden % drop if I disconnect my phone after it's been done charging for a while.
I've done this a few times with the HTC charger included, and I always get that quick drop, but not with this 3rd party charger. Anyone has any idea what triggers that ADB mode?
ADB? Can you deabbreviate?
I presume you mean that the phone just flashes up a notification that USB debugging is enabled? Normally, you shouldn't see this when plugged into a charger, and I presume that it has something to do with how the cable is wired up.

Anyways, just wanted to share this funny one with you guys, and have it here for REFerence
so most my morning was all fine and normal, phone was plugged into my laptop USB port, just charging, not doing anything.
comes the the IT guys and push a new version of Norton Antivirus Corporate of course
after the update is done, now every time my phone is plugged into the USB port of the laptop, it will cause the T989 to reboot
if i plug it into a wall charger, or any other PC without the new updated Norton, then it works fine.
it only started after the annoying new feature of norton "Network Threat Protection" kicked in.
if that is disabled then it seems to be fine, no reboot
but the feature is locked on the Admin side... so no way to legally disable it without too many questions

I used the corp version of Norton briefly but had to stop using it because it was causing my wireless router to reboot.
Try setting the phone to "charge only" mode , usb debug off, plug it in see if it triggers, then turn USB debugging back on without unplugging it ....

First, are you charging your phone via USB or through the wall charger? I have found on some phones if they are completely dead, USB wont charge them at all. So plug it into the wall. When you plug it into the wall do you get the Charge animation? Let it charge for awhile before attempting anything else, i would say at least 45 mins.
If you let it charge and it still wont turn on, you need to attempt to get into download mode. First, pull the battery and sim and let the phone sit for about 5 minutes just to be safe. Reinstall battery and DO NOT push the power button. Instead hold the Vol + and insert your USB cable that should be plugged into the computer as well. The good news is if you can get download mode, i think you can pretty much always save this phone. You just need to refer to one of the threads that guide you through it.
moved to general
not see a battery animation when i plug in the wall charger.
if i connect to computer and push + computer lost a connection to phone and see nothing. when i release botton see a qualcomm modem
Hello to all!!
Let me describe the problem...
The tablet needs to be repeatedly plugged and unplugged for about 10min to start charging...the charger is detected as a USB device.
When I connect the tablet to the PC nothing happens, sometimes, just sometimes the tablet displays "High-power usb device connected", but if I put the tablet in download mode the connection always works, also if I connect the USB-flash device to the tablet the tablet recognise it.
The problem is the charger an the PC...the tablet just don't recognise them...!
I also tried *#0808# ... now I have the USB setting on MTP+ADB .... and I also tried different roms and the problem is always the same.
If anyone know what is going on, please let me know!
Thanks!
Hello guys, I'm having some problems with my Samsung S4 mini i9195. I was changing sd card to try to see a video shot with my Xiaomi Yi, since the phone boot I had some lag problems when suddenly it turned off. I'm not able to charge it, boot, go on recovery or download mode. When I plug it to my charger it vibrates, and battery logo shows up for a few seconds the it disappear and the screen goes black. When I plug it to my pc it says "unknown device" and try to download drivers, but I hear the usb device sound like the usb is connected and disconnected continuously. Today I tried my friends' battery(charged to 70% at least) and as soon as I plugged it the phone turns on and the samsung logo shows up, then suddenly shuts down. After this try, my friend pugged his battery in his phone and after booting battery was 0%, then he rebooted again and the correct percentage was shown. I was thinking it was something like a dead eMMC, but not anymore I believe it's a bad power management problem. What do you think? Can you guys say if this is a motherboard problem or only something related to the charging board?
Thanks a lot for your help.
