kaspersky mobile and barcleys - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Windows Mobile General

If you are in the UK. And bank with Barclays. You can get kaspersky for free.
https://activation.kaspersky.com/en/barclays_protection/
I have kaspersky mobile on my touch pro 2. Don’t think it affects performance, but I’m happier with it on.
As well as the mobile version, you can get the full kaspersky internet security suite.
For 3 pcs.
If you get it, but was not aware of it. Please say.

T-Mobile Name ID

This app seems pretty useful- it has a 7 day free trial period. But I am sure not going to pay $3.99/month to tmobile to continue service. Anyone have other recommendations for similar functionality. I'm guessing there's a lot of apps on the market that could replace this.

I think that's the one that instead of showing a unknown number calling you, it somehow looks up their billing name of what they are using to call you and displays that.
Precisely, it shows name, city, state
You should try truecaller app available at truecaller.com. This is ~$5 one time but does it's job. Very much same as T-mobile ID. This does show up even when dialing an unsaved contact number. I love this app and good thing is you can search for any unknown numbers. A must have app.
Cheers

I bought this long time back. I have been using this for past 6 months and worked 8 out of 10 times. truecaller.com/?p=price_plans, paid version gives you additional features.

Thanks everyone. Truecaller seems to be the way to go. I feel sorry for the people that actually get suckered into the bloatware. $3.99/month for this service is ridiculous.

USB to LAN for S2

Hi guys,
i am in the need of having a lan port on my S2. i found these
http://www.hitechleague.com/android-tablets-accessories/usb-2-0-ethernet-adapter-rj-45
and
http://www.euogo.com/usb-lan-adapte...to-rj45-adapter-for-android-tablets_p420.html
but i don't know if they are going to work. Anyone have any opinions on this?
Interested too!
Well I've read somewhere that in theory it is possible. The only problem is you'd have to write a driver for the phone which isn't very easy.
Maybe you already know it, but if you have a laptop available you can share the lan connection via wifi with Connectify.
If you have windows 7 (vista I'm not sure of) you don't even have to use a third party program. But your wireless card should support packet injection. Sadly enough mine doesn't.
Nevertheless LAN to USB can be useful. A few weeks ago I was staying in a hotel that said it had wifi. But it didn't only via cable. I only brought my phone. So there I was alone in an alley hogging of somebodies wifi in the rain trying to congratulate my girlfriend on here graduation.
I'm really looking into a travel router now. D-link's dap 1350 for example.

I only use it to stream music from my Netbook which is running iTunes but I believe it will act as a wifi hotspot and is not much bigger than a mains adaptor. If you plug it into the network then it should pick up an IP and if you have configured it at home then it will act as a normal wifi router.

App Refund

Hi all.
I would like to know how to get refund from Windows Phone Marketplace?
I've found some old instructions, but they are not working anymore and I can't find it anywhere on their site.
Please help...
I don't think it's possible. Before buying app, you should saw the warning: something like "That purchase is non-refundable and can not ... blah-blah-blah". By pressing "Buy" button you've agreed with these terms & conditions.

See the Terms of use:
6.9. Refund Policies.
All sales are final and nonrefundable unless otherwise provided by law or by a particular Service offer.
Provided you have extenuating circumstances, a refund is very possible. You'll need to chat with a representative:
https://support.live.com/default.aspx?productkey=oepwp7cf&brand=oepwp7&mkt=en-ww&
For example... I downloaded Bullet Asylum about an hour before it became available in the Marketplace on my phone. I found it on the Marketplace via my web browser and made the purchase, cuz I was so excited to play the game. A week later, I was fiddling around with my phone and looked up BA in the Marketplace. I had the option to buy it, but it wanted to charge my account again. From the game that was already on my phone, it wasn't showing as updatable AND I wasn't able to send a reinstall link from the website. This was forcing me to purchase the game a 2nd time if I wanted to reinstall it... all due to a small glitch.
So, I got on with a rep via chat, explained everything and had the email purchase confirmations to prove it. Rep had to call me to verify my account/identity. Great conversation, understood the problem, and provided a refund.
So... yes... if the circumstances are right, and a refund is warranted, then it can be obtained. Chat support has been very helpful both times I've used them.
Just curious: how much you evaluate your time? Hmm, spending so much time for $0.99 or even $2.99 is too expensive for me, for example

Yes a refund is possible! I was refunded already because I was charged twice by the same app I contacted Zune support and they emailed me in my language Portuguese and saw the problem and refunded me! I was refunded too once because I bought one app and now it's not anymore on marketplace its name is perfectscan i reseted my phone and wanted to install the app and couldn't because the app wasn't available anymore.

So the refunds are only available for errors, not for those who find out that the app doesn't work correctly and just want money back.
Sent from my XT910 using XDA
Too bad....it doesn't work like that....
They won't refund you for such a reason...
I purchased a game on my phone, got double billed (billed twice for the same game).
I just fired up a "Zune marketplace Chat support session". Explained what happened, refunded immediately!

No unfortunately not. Because, most apps and games come with trial mode. So you could try before you buy. However, for apps that don't offer trials modes, if the reviews and screenshots don't justify value of it, then I don't buy it.

offline navigation app for use on my multiple devices simultaneously any suggestions?

looking for the best offline navi app for my note 2. i'm willing to pay for one license but i would like to use them across 2 devices at the same time.
i was looking into sygic but seems that the software is only good for one device at a time. is that still true? this is for north america.
any other suggestions ?

I use to drive a ambulance, this worked great for a year for me, very accurate, no need for data plan. the best one to use is route 66, there is a yearly fee. They have like a 15 day trial, download map and try it, the offline navigation is the yearly fee... I tried them all, and this was the best one if you have no data plan.....it take a little to get use to entering address, but is highly accurate...nevrmind the re iews, the dont know jack...jack.
Oh, route 66 is only good for one device license tho, still best offline navigation bar none.

Are the N930FD battery issues-free?

Today I ordered N930FD and it will come tomorrow.
Are the duos phones with no battery issues or they are also prone to blowing up.
I suppose that this phone might come from a new batch and it will be good, but will the IMEI checking websites show me if there is an issue?

I like to think my battery battery is safe. I've not run into any problems since August 15th when I received the device. I don't plan on exchanging it either until I see the slightest hiccup if any kind. Goes to show how good the FD version is.
ANY device may have an affected batt, go safe, exchange
I ordered it from a local store and canceled the order because I checked the IMEI before purchase and it was from the affected ones :/

You won't see any "hiccups". Having your Note 7 run hot isn't a sign the battery may be bad, nor is battery drain (Unless it's draining at like 1%/Minute or something).
As soon as the battery develops an internal short through the separator (if that truly is the issue) it'll rapidly heat, develop more shorts and catch fire internally. Despite what I keep reading there's not going to be any signs, the batteries aren't overheating at all, and they can operate normally up to like 50*c or something. They will overheat once they've caught fire though. So suck it up and go and replace it. You cannot know if yours is bad.
