Hero contact photos facebook

Is it possible to retrieve the Hero's contact phots that are connected to facebook?
With the android sdk and the function loadContactPhoto i only get the manually added photos ...
Where the facebook contact photos stored?
Is there any API in the Hero rom?
I hope anybody can help me...

yes that's possible.
Use the app "Facebook Sync" and it will do the rest

Thanks, but i need a program code not an app!
I want to read the already stored facebook photos (Hero do this) into my programmed app.
With the standard SDK from android i dont get the photos..

HTC overrides the normal contact photo with the facebook one, try to look at the contact database probably you find something

But curious why the loadContactPhoto only gets the manually added..
In case that HTC overrides the normal contact photo with the facebook photo, loadContactPhoto should get also the facebook photo...

loadContactPhoto will grab what *android* has set as the contact's photo. However, the facebook integration is an HTC addition, so there is no android API to grab it. An illustration of this: A contact in my phone has a facebook pic associated with it. I look at that same contact in my GMail's GTalk list, and it shows the manually set pic. So the HTC People app chooses its own pic from either Facebook or the Google Contact pic.
This may change in Eclair, as android 2.0 will have facebook integration included. HTC may have gone with the android API over their own, I'm not sure.

Thanks, i know, but i have seen other apps that are display the facebook photo on the HTC Hero on there app. For example Handcent SMS...
So there must be a way to grab this HTC facebook photo...

Does nobody knows how to get the HTC Hero Facebook photos?

I personally don't know. Try contacting the dev for ChompSMS or Handcent. I know those two pull the facebook pics.

Tool for Facebook pictures

Hi guys,
I am looking for an application that will allow me to do the following. As most of us know, Sense is saving the contact pictures from facebook to the contacts. Unfortunately, they are not saved in to windows mobile.
Is there any app that will take the pictures from Sense/Facebook and save them into the original windows contacts.

How to sync pictures? Not the usual question about facebook

So i have all of my contacts pictures synced through facebook and all of my contacts saved to my gmail. My question is how can i get the face book pictures to be saved on the g mail contact. Im trying to use youlu app from the market and only some of my pictures came over because the facebook pics are not saved on the gmail contact. Thanks for any help

Yeah so ive probably just been stupid and not thought of something here but anyways...
We cant sync facebook contacts anymore because facebook and google have had a lovers tiff.
I want my contacts to have pictures because it just looks lame without them.
Is there anyway of getting my facebook contacts pictures into my contact list any other without going round all my friends taking pictures of them and using photos from the gallery?
Google + is a no go because im the only god damn one that has it .
Oh and im completely stock 4.0.2 so any hax are are most likely out of the question.

Not a real good solution but you can grab each user's picture from FB or whatever and apply it to your contact within GMail. I didn't do it for everyone but I did do it for the people I contact the most.

I've heard HaxSync does that, havent tried it myself + it costs money...So...Here is a link to the app.

I use Friends Sync from the market works ok but you still need to add connection to each contact from your original contacts list bit of a pain I know

Google fix hi res contact image..!

Im sorry but did anyone else know that this has been fix for a while now? Pictures are crispy clear now! I just found out yesterday searching for something in another forum and well you just have to add the pictures to your contacts again and itll be perfect now, no more ugly blurriness! And what I notice is that its best to upload from your phone. I did a few on the laptop, and they were clear but somehow they came out way better when i edited the contacts picture through the phone..
