hi there,
has anyone heard of a tool, that switches the screen off, when the phone is active?
it could switch the screen off, as soon as the phone starts dialing, and as soon as you accept a call... and automatically turn on again after the call.
of course you should be able to turn on the screen with the powerbutton at any time, as usual.
this would save battery, and also prevent pressing something with your cheekbones... especially if you hand the phone to a non ppc person ;-)
unless there's such a tool or someone creates it, i will keep powering of the screen manually...
do you think, such a tool is useful?
Phonealarm from pocketmax.net can do it.
This will do it too. Just install the cab file and link it to a button and it will shut off the screen only.
How do you link it to a button?
hi there,
phonealarm can do it automatically? that's new to me, thanks for the information, i will try it later. i am curious to see, if it works too, when the PA today plugin (which i don't want) is disabled.
the other tool: i already tested that tool, and of course it works, but it doesn't really do what i want, because i still have to press a button, and it doesn't automatically shut the screen off, when something happens.
thanks for the answers!

Just go to start-->settings-->buttons and choose a button that you want it linked to.

Hi there,
I have TT7 installed and working fine.
I would like to use it in my pocket with headphones when riding my motorbike however for this to work reliably, I need to disable the touch screen.
So my question is, is it possible to blank/lock/disable the screen and keep TT running so I can hear the directions via my headphones?
Regards,
Richard
Pocket Shield might be able to do this. You'll probably have to live with the backlight being on but it'll protect it from accidental presses. The problem is that TomTom is far too aggressive at keeping itself on top so this might not even do it.
I have exactly the same question so any solutions would be greatly appreciated!
Can't you just swith of the screen using the power button?

Nope. That disables TT7 as does a long press on the Call hang-up button.
R.
how about s2u2 ..
Nope, S2U2 doesn't work any better than the builtin screen lock.

Richard

Can confirm my lights are OFF when charging via USB on PC. Win 7 x64 if you really care...
Edit: Assuming the screen is off. If screen on, lights are triggered by ambient light level. Try covering the earpiece to prove it.
HI All,
I broke the digitizer on my phone, is there anyway to get the data off of it at this point?
Thanks,
Tim
ADB in and control your device from that.

Does this require being in debug mode? I hooked it to my computer but only the camera showed up, none of the drives were present.
When you say broke the digitizer, can you see stuff and have no touch control, or it's just a black screen?

Yes, the screen is blank. All the buttons work and calls can be come in but there is no way to interact with the phone since the screen is blank and touch does not work.

Hello all,
I am using the original 5.1 ROM.
Now, I can turn on/off the screen by pressing the Power button, but that's it. The screen does not respond anymore to my touch . Then the screen is off automatically after timeout.
Could you give me some hints to fix?
Thanks

in my opinion, the touch screen is broken. try flashing different kernel, and see if u have the same probs.
Hard reset possibility...before concluding it's a touchscreen problem.
