Hero's!
I've recently upgraded to WM6 (Australian ROM) and what I found is that sometimes (yes, sometimes... sigh....) when I close the Phone tab after I have made/received a call, the top of my screen still shows "Phone" next to the windows start logo, and my start menu is closed and freezed. So I can see the today screen, the only part of the phone tab that remains and cannot be closed is the bar at the top. Ihave to perform a soft reset to "fix" it.
I have some 3rd party stuff installed on my device:
Spb Pocket Plus and Spb GPRS Monitor.
Anyone has/had the same issue and has a solution?
Thnx in advance.
Cheers. Arend
What I noticed is that it doens't just concern my phone tab. It happened to my settings - and programs tab to.
And I do not need to make a softreboot. Just turning the device off and on using the powerbutton is enough.
Still, issue remains, any takers on this subject?
Sounds like a screen refresh problem. i would try uninstalling the additional software one at a time to see if the problem stops when you have removed something.

Thanks.
Deinstalled the 3rd party software. Issue remains. Still, it's not a real big deal. I mean, I will get by. I will just have to hit the powerbutton once in a while.
Still, maybe I will give device a hard reset and use it without any modifications. See if that works.
Any other suggestions.
Go for the hard reset, if that fails to fix the problem I would reflash the ROM. If that doesn't fix it, it might be the AUS ROM that is causing the issue with your network.

I agree with all above expect the part of "it might be the AUS ROM that is causing the issue with your network".
What i think might be possible is that the ROM conflicts with my P3600, since it isn't a Dopod.
But as you suggested, I'm going to give it a hard reset.
Hello.
Since yesterday, I encounter a very annoying problem : when I exit Opera, and come back on the TouchFLO interface, the phone freezes completely. Not completely actually, since when I press the "hard" buttons on the bottom of the phone, they vibrate. But anyway, I can't do anything else but soft reseting it.
I flashed it two days ago with the last FR Dutty ROM, and it was working fine. This issue occured for the first time yesterday, when I installed the two last HTC hotfixes (one for the slide-to-answer thing, the other one to fix the top curtain). However, I don't see why they would be a relation between these two fixes and the fact that the phone freezes when I quit Opera.
Even more, the freezes doesn't occure every time, but I'd say something like 8 or 9/10. I tried to install the latest build of Opera (AFTER the first time the freeze occured), and it didn't change anything.
So, am I the only one ? Does anybody encounters the same problem ?
Not the only one

I have the same problem.
Like you say, not all the time.
Don't remember when it started
Have the fixes and Opera update installed.
I hate that reboot button under the backside cover.
For the rest I still like my HD a lot.
Any help is more than welcome.
same here, except that i have original rom and opera version and the freezes started before i installed the hot fixes
Heey,
I have the same problem.
But it only freeze the phone when i exit Opera when a page is still loading/downloading.
If i exit Opera when the page is loaded/downloaded is works perfect.
I haven't installed any fixes.
Can you confirm if you have the same situation?
Thanks, Daniel
Opera Mobile has in opera:config an entry with the name "Automatic RAM Cache" (afaik).
If this is enabled, Opera will write the whole cache from the RAM into the storage memory when you close it.
Do you have this option turned on?
i have the problem too, but the option in opera:config is not enabled in my config.
i think the problem started after the hotfix of htc to improve response. i have no idea what caused this problem, because in the beginning everything worked fine. Now i'm even afraid to start opera, afraid the phone will freeze......... The stupid reset button is also behind the cover. A lot of things to do to reset the phone. take cover off, pull stylus out, press the reset button, put stylus in, place cover back, input code, wait wait wait.......
This option is disabled in the config of Opera.
And this ****er just freezed one more time :/
Mine started freezing when I started using Dutty's ROMs. It only freezes for me when I minimise it though. I prefer having the X button close an app so I've changed that and now no more freezes when closing.
I have exactly the same problem, is very annoying, any solution??

Maybe .this is a reason
I installed the D3D driver, however I already installed it before flashing to Dutty 1.5 (I was on 1.1 at this time), and I never noticed any freeze.
still no fix for this? or even an idea what causes this? I really don't want to do a hard reset, cuz i need to reinstall all the crap and still risk getting the same situation...
Had the same problem, in my case it was clearly related to the Ati 3d driver, it's fine again after I uninstalled it.
I have the same problem. i didn't install any 3d driver and i am using the starbase64 V2 rom [GER].
just deinstalled the 3d driver and the hologram thingie and rebooted. it seems the problem is gone....... i will update here if the problem comes back

If we check the feature list of the rom you are using, what do we find: enable ATI D3D Driver...so yeah, it might be related to the ATI 3D driver.
I unistalled the 3D ATI driver and now after I use Opera, the HD doesn't block
But It shows a closing problem, but not a big deal... thanks'¡¡¡¡¡
same here, uninstalled the 3d driver and problem was gone, but now in games i notice a big difference in speed. For example in archibalds adventures, moving makes the framerate drop and the game stutters............ sigh.........
Dear Friends,
My brand new Pro2 is always reseting itself while it's battery level is over %75, sometimes even less than %75 level. I have upgraded to 6.5 Rom but it did not change, it's always reseting itself.
Can anybody help me?
Regards
I have a Tilt 2 and haven't experienced this. However, a few things to look at..
1. Does this happen after a hard reset at all without any apps installed etc?
2. Have you noticed if it happens after a certain action ie. launching an app etc

This is happening individually, sometimes when idling, sometime when new incoming call is coming, when i am at msn... I took out sdcard, now it did not reset itself but i am not sure whether it will repeat again...
I was wondering if anyone else has seen any of these 2 issues with their tilt 2. One of them is a problem, the other may just be normal.
1. Text messaging - Text messaging, as i've learned to deal with on all the winmo phones i've owned is sluggish. But this particular problem I haven't seen before. The problem is when I close out a text message and the screen goes back to the inbox. The screen freezes for a few seconds (sometimes longer than others) before I can do anything else. It's really annoying. I have attached screenshots of this. I know it's frozen because the top of the screen has not redrawn, as you can see in the screenshot.
2. It seems that there must be a memory leak somewhere as my memory usage keeps increasing, yet no programs are open or running. I have attached a screen shot of the task manager as well. As you can see it's at 86% and nothing is open.
If you have experienced this and know of a way to fix either of these, please share. By the way, i'm using a stock ROM. Thanks everyone for your help.
Normally the stock ROM´s are full of crappy apps installed by the cell providers.
Normally I reflash inmediately to a cooked ROM from the great Chefs we have here at XDA!
Those ROM¨s nomrally perform better, of course it affects the apps installed by you at the end
Has anybody experienced the text messaging issue in any of the cooked ROMS?
maybe

i have an at&t branded tp2 and i am running an older leo from ngrz28 (thanks by the way) and yes i stay between 59% lowest i've ever seen and 84% with nothing open. i is probably cuz the good cooks from xda shoved an elephant of a rom (really made for snapdragon prosseser with twice the speed) into the tp2 (minus all the bloatware and other crud). oh well do a lot of reading and try a few different roms to find the right one for you. good luck bro.
Thanks for the replies!
Well, it looks like I may have found a solution to both of my problems. I figured out how to get rid of the text messaging issue...for the most part. I figured out that if I leave text messaging running, once all my conversations are opened once, the lag isn't there when I close out a conversation. This lag happened to me constantly because I have my phone set to close programs completely when I tap the "X" (as opposed to minimizing...I do it so I don't end up with 10 different programs running and crashing my phone). I figured out that if I just minimize text messaging and never close it out, the lag isn't there. Must be a caching thing or something with the sms conversations.
As far as the memory issue goes I gave spb mobile shell a shot and installed the trial version. So far my memory usage has stayed at about 69%. Looks like tf3d is a memory hog.
Anyways, thanks for the replies and hopefully this information helps someone.

Memory usage / leaks depend a lot on your ROM built
I found out the same for SMS. However opening / closing a contact in the contact list takes even longer than the SMS issue and for this I havent found any solution yet
Try disabling XT9 and all the other Xt9 and predictive word settings.
This worked for me when Landscape mode and typing emails..
Hi
I've on my ARC S ICS 4.0.4 ver .587. What I observed, that in 95% after phone call phone opened the mobile network settings.
Is any reason why phone is doing something like that.
On ICS ver .431 was the same situation
thanks in advance for any help.
P.S. additional I've installed XS Lockscreen Aeon but before instillation the situation was the same.
regards
R.
I'm on the same ROM, and I never had the situation you explained... Please check that some application you recently installed is not making this bug. Some applications are requesting weird permissions, therefore they could affect some things not related to application purpose/task at all.
Example: 5 or 6 months ago, there was a weird bug in GO SMS Pro (you probably know about that app), which forced your every phone call to go through loud speaker, no matter if you turn it of every time it turns itself on. And also that is example of how weird permissions are some apps requesting. They fixed it in short time, but the point is, there is real possibility that there is some application responsible for that weird bug you have.
Because noone else is reporting similar bug (at least till now), so it is 99% related to concretely your phone/apps/activities.

I checked and found out that if I had in QP "Toggle Network Mode" enabled this problem occurred. So after several combination I uninstall "QuickPanelSettings" and install once again and problem disappear (different file: QuickPanelSettings.apk).
