After purchasing the retail version of TomTom Navigator 7 preinstalled on 4 GB microSD card, I've found that it refuses to install on my Rhodium because the CAB gives the infamous "Not compatible with device" error... Any help about overriding the device ID control when trying to execute the installer? Unfortunately TomTom can't help because TP2 isn't on the official compatiblity list... Many thanks, in advance!!!
Hey Buddy
That is bad news. But you can always try, copying the contents of the SD to your own SD and then edit the CAB file witch CE CAB manager. By my knows, there is a config page witch allowed devices that you can edit, to fit your Own device.
Success
Hi!
same problem here.. there is a file on the sd called TomTom-cfg\release.nfo
and the contents are:
[ID]
LocalID = ['htc_diamond', 'htc_raphael']-7.910.9190_VERI_SIGNED-1OK0.054.01.TTN7_Western_Europe_8.15_AC
imageID = Western_Europe_1GB-815.2024
Birthday = Monday 16 March 2009, 14:59:33
Image type = ZIP
Item number = 1OK0.054.01
Item description = TTN7 Western Europe 8.15 AC
Changelist = 300942
Application version = 7.910
Application build = 9190_VERI_SIGNED
Map 1 name = Western Europe 1GB
Map 1 version = 815
Map 1 build = 2024
I tried changing htc_diamond to htc_rhodium no luck....
I downloaded the WinCE CAB Manager.. but didnt find any config files in the ttn.cab file either..
Having the same issue and tomtom support are no help. Finally offered me a refund. Would love to be able to get it to work. I love the TP2 otherwise. If you do find a solution please post it here. I'll do likewise.
Actually I "solved" the issue registering Copilot Europe, works fine and I'm happy with it... But thinking about my useless TT7 microSD I hope that someone will find a working solution editing the CAB in the proper way... After all, I can't understand why it refuses to install on TP2 while the same software runs on other devices with very similar hardware specs!
Last but not least: tried installing one of the TT7.9 CAB floating around the Web (after all, I legally own the software license!) and it runs, but cannot unlock the original Europe maps from the retail microSD, so seems like TT changed the map unlocking algorithm.
I'm on the same situation.
It's incredible like TOMTOM company encourage by itself illegal software.
Illegal software works and payed one NOT

Last Monday, Feb 7, I spoke with Wayne Achaka at Siemens North America in San Francisco. He assured me that they have a firmware update coming out by the end of this week (that would be Feb 18) for the SX66.
He stated that it fixes the Bluetooth issues, especially with the Jabra 250, and improved the Wi-fi support, as well as some other issues which he declined to elaborate on.
Now, I AM concerned that they are going to try some trick in disabling the use of the phone as a modem when connected with a laptop...that is the purported reason Cingular took it off the website for now. I don't use it that way, but I wonder if anyone else has, and how it can be done...!!!
I will post again as soon as I see the upgrade is available.
I dont use my phone that way - but lets see what happens. better WiFi is welcomed. This week the WiFi connects to my network but has trouble maintaining the connection. Odd
What intrigues me is that Siemens says they're coming out with an update, but isn't i-Mate or HTC really the ones who come out with an update first, then all the other "manufacturers" release theirs, possibly with Extended ROM updates? Wouldn't all other manufacturers or carriers be behind or at most up-to-par with i-Mate or HTC?
Food for thought
The siemens is a PH20B1 device thus not on par with the others PH2OB.
The version 1.22, 1.31, 1.35 upgrade is a conbination of the Windows version (CE) as well as patches that have been intergrated into the version.
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=BA_ERK_131vs122
Based on a user that tried to update the CE portion (only is what I understtod) of the 1.35 NZ Telcom (a non gsm system) and failed I feel it is safe to say that the major version also adds components (such as protocol) that are not seen in other version of the same number.

Thus as users all that we can realy do is cook our exteneded rom to the best know up to date postion which is why we have the kitchen.

I have found no infomation anywere that tells me what is infact in ms.ndf and we fail to have a tool that extracts that.

anyone brave enough to put on a pda2k?
Look closely at the 1.35 WWE thread... I'm that bumbling user! I tried it and thought I hosed my PDA2K entirely - it wouldn't boot past the first splash screen! Thank God I was able to access the bootloader (searched this site for some kind soul who provided the key combination: Power + Reset + Record) and reinstate the previous firmware.
So, I feel safer to give this Siemens upgrade a try on my PDA2K. I'll report back as soon as I have an update. Hopefully it'll fix my damn 05 text message issue for voicemail.
BeyondtheTech
I did, before I posted it!
If you get anywere can you do an install with a flushed rom.
Things I would like to know for the kitchen.
Camera, (is there or not) if so what does about report as version and build nr.
BT, What does about report and what do the modules report.
Protocol version
Wifi is it around.
What does windows version and build report.
Still have the q about how you did that intersting upgrade as it has been reported that the password did not work.
Beyond - I did see your post in the other thread yesterday. I'm glad, because you kept me from doing the same thing. A client has a 1.32 rom on a cdma audiovox 6600, and his bluetooth works great. (which is why I was sorely tempted!) Please let me know your findings on bluetooth and if it has wmp 10.
First country code error which was expected.
Then ran fixbat
Came up with header error
The ran for the fun of it BaUpgradeUt.exe
Came up with checksum error which was also expected.
Looks like we are all back to 1.31 Arabic with 1.06.00 FRA.
Would be nice if somebody would solve the password issues
The encryption method is definitely different. It may have been encrypted twice, or that there are two operations instead of just the XOR.
Here's what I know.
1.22's CE ROM password is 0x20040521. Looking into the HTCRUU.DLL file when you extract the self-executable upgrade utility, you can actually see all three passwords at offset 9F83h, 9F8Ah, and 9F91h. Funny thing is that the same passwords are in the RUU.DLL file of the SX66 Update.
A proper XOR decryption of 1.22 CE ROM will show the NK.NBA to have the NBF header and a near-full page of zeros. The corresponding NBF file will show the unXORed data of 21 05 04 20 21 05 04 20 .... Obviously XORing that value will bring back the zeros, as it's shown in the NBA file.
However, looking at the SX66's ROM file, the encrypted data shows 19 E8 7B B6 ... Performing an XOR will turn all those into zeros, but the header is still scrambled.
Also, the end of the SX66's encrypted ROM file, when unencrypted is supposed to be zeroes, just like the unencrypted 1.22 CE ROM file. However, at the end of the SX66's encrypted ROM file, it's 66 00 0B 20 ... Yes, XOR'ing that will result in zeros, but the start of the file is still garbage.
Anyone following me yet?
There's more to the decryption than just the XOR now.
BeyondtheTech
Now you are showing your true colors.
There is a thread on the encription that I dont have saved on this pc.
The xda3tool reports a not a valid header when run agaisnt the siemens 1.35 which could be due to a header change or a encription method. I pass on which one.
Given that you have found the password can you check it against the qtec 169 that always came up with a password error. May be a new one is also stored in the dll. DOwnload found on wiki. thread below.

Thanks Man, is not this suppose be available next week as per tommc4? or this is a different firmware?
Another CONCERN: Why is the firmware 37 M in size? does it mean it will replace the old one without using 37M or not?
thanks

If you change the those hex bytes in the DLL file, the upgrade utility will say the CE file is corrupt. So, I'm thinking it may be related, but it's only part of the algorithm.
I'm convinced there's a second mathematical operation but I don't know what it is. I haven't been able to decrypt the nk.nbf at all, and it's driving me nucking futs. I'm not a good mathematician, either. In either case, I think XDA3NBFTOOL.EXE is due for an upgrade. Who made it, anyhoo?
Anyone else notice that the latest NBF file is 44 bytes longer than the previous versions (1.22 and 1.31)?

The answer is YES. The upgrade is for the Siemens SX66 for use on Cingular's network.
It should be obvious, considering the picture of the unit and the model number and the fact that everyone including myself has been trying for the past week or so to find ways to make it work on all HTC BlueAngel GSM models, not just the SX66.
Thank you for your response, is this upgrade worthful? because, I have seen some people are saying they might disable using PocketpcPhone as wireless modem function.
Hi,
I recently bought a Dopod 900 from Taiwan and having read the entire upgrade forum I am still slightly unsure about the best way to switch to English. From my reading I see that O2 has issues with the extended ROM (although I'm unclear what extended ROM really means, my best guess so far is that its preloaded applications) and that the Jasjar suffers from system hangs and performance (speed).
I understand that there are two options readily available to me;
1) Use the O2 ROM located at http://www.my-xda.com/xdaexec_soft.html (since I'm in Australia I just copied their sample phone number into their form to continue on from page 2).
2) Or use the JasJar ROM located at ftp://ftp.xda-developers.com/../Uploads/Universal/Shipped ROM/JASJAR_WWE_11353_137_10301/
And if I'm correct, unzip and copy the modified ROM installer (located at ftp://ftp.xda-developers.com/../BlueAngel/Tools/) into the folder containing the un-zipped contents of the ROM archive and use MaUpgradeUt_noID to perform the ROM upgrade.
However, I've noticed in the signatures that people have all sorts of different versions of;
a) The OS ROM
b) The extended ROM
c) The radio ROM
I've found out that my Dopod has;
CE Image: 1.13.36
Ext Image: 1.13.134
Radio: 1.04.02
And that the Jasjar ROM image (JASJAR_WWE_11353_137_10301 - which has a filename of JASJAR WWE 11353 137 10402) located on this site is;
CE Image: 1.13.53
Ext Image: 1.13.137
Radio: 1.04.02
I guess the following questions are really targeted towards Australians, since the Jasjar has been available now for a short time and there would be some users downunder, I would like to know;
1) what versions are they running?
2) what provider/plan they are using?
3) what applications are they using (skype, pdf reader etc).
(I noticed on my Dopod, which still has the chinese OS on it, it is installed with KKBox, Pocket MSN, ClearVue PDF, Zip, and Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc).
I do not know what KKBox is. And what's funny is that with the Voice Commander, I happen to know that "saigen" is see-you-later in madarin which stops the Voice Commander application. However I'm not too keen on learning madarin just to run my PDA.
So before I take the plunge and convert to English I would like to get some feedback from locals as to what they are running.
One last point, I got quoted from PDA King in Taiwan (I used a phone card to call) NT$1200 to switch my PDA to English. When I asked them about getting a copy of the OS on CDROM for furture restores I was advised they don't use a CDROM before its burned onto the ROMs. I think they are having me on, considering the talk in these forums, but I'm curious if anyone in Taiwan has had an english conversion done for them by a retailer?
Regards
Michael
Hi,
I found a Dopod site at www.dopodasia.com that stated "In addition, new ROM can be downloaded in “Member” section if you subscribed as a Dopod member"
The membership registration page is located at http://210.64.124.195/Dopod_en/member/right.aspx
Unforuntately the registration page is rejecting my serial number, I'm at this moment calling them for help to login. In the meantime, has anyone sucessfully logged on, and what ROMs are available?
Regards
Michael
Hi,
The Dopod Asia site seems to have a good FAQ for the Dopod 900
http://210.64.124.195/Dopod/Singapore/En/Support/FAQ/3Gsubnote/?sm=Left1_pro_9_1_1

Michael,
Did you manage to register on the Dopod site? My Serial # was accepted but the next page with more detail got stuck on the Account field right after Nickname field. Any idea what you need to enter there?
Thanks for any help yo umight be able to provide. Regards
Hi,
Not yet, we caught them at the end of the business day. They advised us they would reply via email, but we're gunna call again tommorrow morning as a little reminder.
Are you able to paste a screen shot of the next page, that way I can see what's coming up and maybe ask them direct what they need (save me trying to work it out).
Michael
Hi,
I got in, this is what I did...
1) Selected "have not yet purchased" - this takes me directly to the account details page and bypasses the request for a valid serial number.
2) I thought "Account" was something to do with your provider, it isn't it is the name you want to call your membership account. You use the "account" name and "password" to login. So account can be anything.
3) Then you get sent an email confirmation with an activation link, just click the link and login.
I'm in at the moment the only thing I can see that can be downloaded is the user's manual, the "home page" in the member's area says...
Dear Client:
Thank you for purchasing Dopod products. To get the most enjoyment out of the products, we continue to cooperate with domestic and international companies to deliver updated services and downloadable programs for you.
Please click and download the program according to the description of Games or Application Programs. We will constantly provide work-related, modern living, games and other application programs for you. Thank you for your continuing feedback to us!
Dopod International Corp.
...I think I will still call them and ask them about where the ROMs can be downloaded from as stated in this quote, "In addition, new ROM can be downloaded in “Member” section if you subscribed as a Dopod member." and where the applications and games reside (or a timeline of when they are due).
Regards
Michael

First one kkbox is music box same as ipod, only can use in Taiwan others
place are useless.
2nd I don't think PDA king in Taiwan can give you any copy of ROM ,
because Dopod don't have any English ROM , they just flush I-mate
or O2 ROM for you,you can get ROM from here as you mention
before.
3th Dopod Taiwan didn't post any ROM upgrade for Dopod 900, I will try
to login Dopod Asia and post here.
Hi,
I've recieved the following response from Dopod Singapore (www.dopodasia.com). By the way I'm hoping that since the Singapore branch of Dopod is english speaking, that they will have an english version of the Dopod ROM.
Has anyone tried to register as a member with the other dopod sites?
Dear Sir:
1) Is there any difference in between logging in as a member who has purchased to one that has not?
A member who has purchased will see all the contents.
2) Where in the member area can I download the ROMs, which were referred to in this quote, "In addition, new ROM can be downloaded in “Member” section if you subscribed as a Dopod member.", located under the title trouble shooting on page, http://210.64.124.195/Dopod/Singapore/En/Support
Currently we don’t have any new ROMs for Dopod 838 and 900. if we release a ROM code, you will see it.
3) Where in the member area can I download the applications and games, which were referred to in this quote, "Please click and download the program according to the description of Games or Application Programs." located on the member home page, on page, http://210.64.124.195/Dopod_en/default.aspx
We will keep putting applications, games and ROM codes on our web site, if there any news will send a e-mail to u.

Hi, great great developers, i sucessfully upgraded my brand new 838 pro to wm 6 , but i dont have auto config for operators in asia or any where, can some one pls pls , post a cab for asia or indian operators, i have already searched this site, i coundnt get info or files.
Thanks for reading

Try HTC's local site for your region.
the autoconfig actually resides in the ext. rom. see can you find a cab file named similar to "p_netwiz_2.05_dopodasia_wwe_rtm_20060703".
somehow something is still not right in this version (perhaps it's not designed to work in wm6). you'll still need to touch up on the mms wap/mmsc configuration manually.
Its here: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index..._provider_cabs
tried it. Works for Starhub.
Hi,
Firstly if this is in the wrong forum - appologies.
I have TomTom 6 and maps which I originally installed on my iPaq 4700, which has now died due to the touchscreen failing. Recently purchased a Wizard (from a popular auction site) and installed TT6 and maps no problem.
With my purchase was another supposedly dead wizard which I have manged to reflash with WM6 ROM and all is working fine (thanks to all the invaluable advise in the Wizard/WM6 forums!) which I now want to install TT6 on and uninstall from the other Wizard with a view to selling it.
The problem - TTcode website will not accept another device code so cannot activate maps. Spoken to TT who want everying including my inside leg measurement to activate (which I can understand however i have little chance of finding the original receipt).
Does anyone know how the device code is forumlated - ie If i flash the vanilla Wizard to WM6 will it change the device code?
Any help appreciated.
Thx
PS my version of TT6 is totally original - no hacks copies or dodgy downloads.
My company got some phones to send to the people in China and I'm having some problems getting this Phone to install Windows Mobile 6 Chinese version. I was wonder if anyone could help me out. Here's where I'm at
Microsoft said the vendor HTC doesn't support it but this ROM should work.
Link To Rom:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Available Original Shipped WM6 ROM Versions
(I'm using the one that says Chinese Version (CHT))
This is what they sent. Well I've tried using this ROM and I'm getting an 264 Error (I can't read the rest cause its in chinese but it seems from doing some research that it says it can't connect to the Device.) Even though i have it plug in with a USB cable and its at the tri-color screen and says USB.
The Tri-Color Screen Says
Herm200
IPL-1.00
Herm200
SPL-1.10
MS internal use only (side note these were donated from Microsoft)
I've done the HERM_Unlock_v2a and it said success also did the Radio part no problem there either but I still got the same 264 error.
This is for a very very good cause and if I could get some help I'd be really thankful.
Also a stick would be nice
I'm a Chinese user from Hong Kong and I'll try my best to help you out. Just curious, which part of China are you sending the Hermes devices to? Only Hong Kong people use Traditional Chinese, the rest of China use Simplified Chinese.
Are you flashing it with Windows XP or Windows Vista? Have you tried flashing from a microSD card? What are the devices branded as? HTC TyTN, Dopod 838pro, Softbank X01HT or something else? Did you flash HardSPL onto them before flashing the ROM you want?

They are going to the CDC in China. I flashed them with HardSPL and managed to get the ROM to load. Is there a keyboard I can load to them if they want to type in Simplified? Other then CE-Star of course. Looking for something free. Or do you have a ROM that has simplified on it? I contacted microsoft and they said they didn't have it which I found strange the ROM i linked from earlier is the only one they know about. 10 bucks says I wasn't talking to the right person that would know.
The guys down here in Atlanta said that most people and China can read Traditional just most can't type it. So if I can find a keyboard to load on all these phones we should be okay. Sorry its taking me so long to respond I've been loading phones for 2 or 3 days now

In case you flashed CHT Rom, I suspect, simplified Chinese character set is not loaded at all. No matter what keyboard you use no way to show simplified characters, respectively the typing will be for traditional only.
There is a MS SIP for Chinese characters, but honestly I found it not that good as CE-Star. Dont have a link but believe you can find it on MS sites
There is another SIP named PlumSIP, which I use, but only the version for hardware keyboard. I found it very convenient. Search google and sure will find a link to dev page.
btw, I use english Rom with installed Chinese characters support - works very well for me - no probs with text, e-mails and surfing internet
If you can read chinese. go to this forum http://bbs.xbeta.cn there's a chinese rom for the hermes and has chinese read/write capability.
In this case, I suggest you go to the most popular PDA forum in the main land of China and the web site is bbs.pdafans.com. You can find all kinds of CHS roms for Hermes and most of them are very good.
I'm in China main land and I'm using Hermes as well, but I'm running WWE rom on my hermes as I prefer to official rom's I just replace the original file wince.nls with another one which Chinese is supported with and add Chinese fonts and tweak registry. As a result of all what I do, simply Chinese is supported very well in a WWE rom.
I'm hoping this helps.
I believe this is what you need. I think you need to register to view the post.

Hi, can you go into a little more detail about which replacement wince.nls you use and the other mods you do to increase your CHinese support? I currently run a wwe ROM with chinese fonts and input added by cab files (CE-Star sucks but it's all there is and I have no idea why there is nothing better when the market for something as good as the vista Chinese IME would be HUGE)

I'm a Traditional Chinese user so I can't help you with Simplified Chinese input right now.
I use WWE ROMs on my X01HT, replaced the wince.nls, installed "CHT_IME_QVGA_F.cab" ripped from a official ROM for Traditional Chinese input (Chu on/Changjie keyboard input, Handwriting recognition) and a 14MB Microsoft JhengHei Bold font. Now it is capable of writing Traditional Chinese and viewing both Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese, Japanese, and Korean.

Hi, can you go into a little more detail about which replacement wince.nls you use and the other mods you do to increase your CHinese support? I currently run a wwe ROM with chinese fonts and input added by cab files (CE-Star sucks but it's all there is and I have no idea why there is nothing better when the market for something as good as the vista Chinese IME would be HUGE)
thanks!

Hey, I'm not sure if you have got this issue resolved. Here the following is what I usually do after a hard reset or flashing a new WWE ROM.
1. Replace with the original wince.nls file in \windows wiuth the one attached below. You can do this with resco file explorer or other app.
2.Copy the Chinese font file to \windows.
http://rapidshare.com/files/121391687/msyh.ttf
3.Implement a registry import for the fonts as attached file Reg Fonts.zip to get a good look.
4.Tweak the registry as following:
add HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\GDI\FontLinkMethods=1(string)
Then Chinese performs perfect in a WWE ROM. And also you can choose Chinese PRC in Regional Setting page.

You should see the /windows folder with a file explorer, either the one in the ROM or the well known resco file explorer. But maybe you can not find the file wince.nls as it's hidden by default. You can unhidden all files with resco file explorer and then you can see it. Antually you don't need to see this file. Just put the wince.nls attached in /windows folder and press OK to replace the original file.
