Uninstalled Programs In All Programs List - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Windows Mobile General

After I uninstall a program, it still is in the All Programs list.
How do I delete the dead shortcut?

try this:
open file explorer, go to windows/startmenu and see if theres still a shortcut for that program there. if there is then delete it

This is odd...
I did what you suggested and didn't see it.
Then I went back to All Programs and it was no longer there either

maybe tf3d has some cache and what you saw in the all programs list was a cached version...

Location: Icons for the Programs Menu

Upon install some third party applications, two icons for a program will install in the programs menu instead of just one (not talking Start Menu). These are not two separate installs, but two shortcuts to the same program. Under Remove Programs there is only one program instance.
On a related note, I had switched phones and had installed Beta player on my SD card..it was still there, of course, but now an icon does not appear in the Programs folder.
1. Where do I go to remove or add shortcuts into the Programs Menu?
2. How do I do so? (if it is too long to type out, where can I read about doing so?)
Thanks,
First a real file explorer then find the links here....
Get a real file explorer first. The Windows standard one is terrible and you can not see many files that savy users need to see (such as the shortcuts I mention below). RESCO is a good and popular one. Then you can find the program shortcuts in Windows\Start Menu\Programs. These are just links to the actual executables and if you get the file properties you can see where they link to.
Alt file explorers
Ah...I figured it was something simple like that. I will download some file explorers and try them out.
Thanks ;-)
Resco Fixed it
Once I could see and read everything on the pda, everything was a breeze. Thanks again.
Hey is there a way to show the programs as a list when you go through the menu or does it have to show the full icons?

How to remove icon in program screen.

I installed a program called feather weather on my HD. It didn't install correctly so I reinstalled it.
Both times, it didn't work so I uninstalled it using "Remove Programs" in settings.
The problem is, it didn't remove the icons (there are two of them... the original one I installed and a copy)
I used a registry cleaner to no avail and went line by line through my registry editor but can't find anywhere anything about feather weather.
Where would I find the icons for them?
Thanks,
Mark

Just to expand upon dreshah's post, use File Explorer to access those folders and just delete the .ico files.
Thanks guys.... I didn't know where the icon files were kept. Now I feel stupid.
MUCH APPRECIATED.

in explorer i go to windows start menu programs

You did soft reset or hard reset?
Doing soft reset shouldn't cause that problem.
Anyway here is path to access program launcher in Touch FLO (reg)
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\Manila\ProgramLanucher
it was a softreset first , then i had to take the battery out
i found the solution
To create a short cut for program in your start menu or programs menu of device.
in your device - using file explorer, find "your program".exe - you should know where it is cos you created this folder remeber!
copy this file (shortcut)
now in your device using file exlorer navigate to the windows folder. open it. you will see a folder called start menu or if u like programs menu - simply paste the shortcut here, DO NOT PASTE THE FILE- IT MUST BE THE SHORTCUT!!!

Adding programs installed on storage card to touchflo 3d programs?

Hi guys...
I have several programs installed onto my 8gb storage card..like Tomtom and Need 4 Speed...however they do NOT show up in the Programs menu or even in the all programs menu...
The only way i can launch the apps is by going to file explorer, navigating to them and then executing the files...
is there an easier way to creat a shortcut or something? So that they show up in the programs list in touch flo???

you need to create a shortcut to these apps and then place the shortcut in \windows\start menu\programs folder
Thanks man worked like a charm!!! Finally got Tomtom in my programs list

[Q] Adding new programs from .cab files into Start Menu folders?

Hello, I just had a question about adding new programs on my Rhodium. Whenever I install a new program over active sync, or through a .cab file, it places the link to the program (the icon) right in my start menu (Using a Rom that has WM 6.5 with the new start page)
But, in my start page, there are folders like "Internet," "Tools," and "Multimedia" that I would like to add my new programs into. For example, I want my Slacker Radio app I just installed to show up in the Multimedia folder instead of just thrown at the end of my start menu.
I was wondering if there's any tweaks or anything to get my new programs to be installed to one of these folders instead of just the start menu.
You can use Total Commander or JSPA Program Manager to move the shortcuts to the desired folder. JSPA is the easiest to use and is free.

Thank you, I'll give JSPA a try right now!
