My Vodafone TP2 arrived today at work, and after reading everything on this forum, I was surprised to find there IS an FM Radio. It's not listed on the Start menu, but if you go into 'Other Programs' it's definitely there....
Has Vodafone reinstalled it if the unbranded versions come without?
The Vodafone radio has been mentioned on here.
As the Vodafone ROM has an older number on it than the HTC ones, even tho the date is newer, I wonder if HTC disabling the radio was a late decision
the fm radio is not in the italian version...

I am an Orange UK SPV M3100 (HERM100) user. My radio stack was originally whatever was in the AKU3 update for WM5.
After doing the HardSPL V7 flashing, I upgraded my radio stack to the 1.50.00 version which said GSM only.
Then I upgraded to 1.51.00 which sucked so I downgraded back to 1.50.00
Now I assume that GSM only means GSM/GPRS/Edge/UMTS/HSDPA and excludes WIFI/Bluetooth.
So my question is has there been any radio upgrades to the non-gsm parts of the radio stack since the WM5 AKU3 update that Orange UK released in April?

All the Radios only affect the calls/GPRS/3G etc. part of the phone. I'm not sure why 1.50 has GSM in the title as it's fundamentally the same as all the other Radio's, albeit a different version. Bluetooth and WiFi are always controlled from the actual ROM - in your case Scahps' excellent one (from your sig). I'm not sure how frequently the bits of the ROM controlling Bluetooth and WiFi are updated, but I'm sure the Chefs here have the very latest ones built in!

"GSM Only" refers to the fact that it's only a radio update.

My new phone is roaming all the time, and previous HTC Hermes didn´t with same operator. And thats why I would like to chance just Radio version.
How can I chance the radio version form my phone, what do I need to do before I can do it?.

Rom date: 8.4.2009
Radio Version: 1.07.9235
Protocol: DV3.0
My Issue is that I cannot find enough info for it. That same radio version is used by HTC in other phones like HTC Touch diamond2.
I did find HTC hermes Finnish Radio version, does that help?

I just received an update for my Desire over the air. The new version number is 1.20.207.3. Does anybody know what is contained within, or where I can find details on it? HTC.com doesn't seem to have anything.

Seems to be, thanks for point that our to me ritdaw. Interestingly enough I am not an O2 customer, although this seems to be an unlocked O2 phone. I bought it direct from a shop without a contract, and originally though it was just an HTC Desire, not an O2 HTC Desire.
However, my provider is a mvno who piggy-backs on the O2 network. Maybe this explains how the phone was able to contact the O2 update server?
I bought a sim-free desire and put an o2 simplicity card in it. Not had any update though

That's cause the update isn't for your unit - it's likely to be an o2 FW update
EDIT: also has the current radio as well...there is a 1.21 WWE ROM out now for generic handsets and is also the base for MoDaCo's ROMs (which I'm using)
Had a search of the forum and couldn't find anything.
Has anybody flashed the new (leaked) radio on a Telstra phone? I'm wondering if it is only meant for 8181 (900/2100mhz) phones and if NextG still works.

I installed it anyway so I'm now running OpenDesire 1.6a
NextG definately works, as it was happy to go and sync everything I needed over 3G.
Well, I would like to know if there are differences in the different radios of firmware versions.
See, my device originally came with O2 firmware. Now It's S-Off and I don't have any O2 software on it.
Now would it result in better calling quality, sound etc. when flashing the o2 radio over some custom variant ?
