fast and light rom, which one to use? - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV ROM Development

I'm looking for a fast and light cooked rom for my diamond, but I can't decide between them
I found morna to be good looking and comes with many programs, it's ok but sometimes slow... is there any other rom fast in internet browsing and email?

You DO know that "fast" is relative.
How fast your internet conn. will be depends a lot on the GSM reception too.

Again, this thread is gonna be closed soon.

there's only one truely fast ROM... Nataly Beta2

The best is too try as many Roms and judge for yourself.
Requesting which is the best or fastest ROM can stir up problems and in a way is disrespectful to other chefs not mentioned.
Please follow the Rules.....

which wm6 is the best? most oem"ish"

So I have a bone stock 8525, well its been unlocked, but thats it. Ive been told the actual phone control on wm6 is better than wm5. Which in your opinion is the best? Most non programer friendly and is oemish in other words stable. Im not looking to hot rod it just basic apps.
Thanks in advanced!!
they are all good in their own right. you will have to try them out for yourself to see which one you like. As many will tell you here. before you go doing anything, read the whole thread for that rom. then read the guides and wiki. Then you will be ready to try them out! good luck and enjoy. i m sure you will love whichever rom you choose!
Black Shadow is very good for me (Vario II, T-Mobile UK). Very stable and reasonably fast.

Black Majik, the most stable and fast-responsive ROM, with HTC Home plug-in.
wow some of you guys are pretty harsh. Thanks to the others for there in site. I did do a search of words like best and favorite and stable and I didnt come up with much. Im new to the board so just a few days ago was non existent to me.
I figured they did have pros and cons hence asking which were like oem and stable.
If you are on Cingular VP3gs rom is outstanding. Otherwise read all the threads a few times and do about a few days of research before upgrading. If you don't follow the instructions properly don't be surpised if you brick your phone. Follow them and you shouldn't have any problems.
Thanks Aridon thats the first one I will start with.
Buth VP3G and Custel do awesome ROMs for Cingular, they are both very stable, and really comes down to personal preference between the two. If you're going to be using bluetooth devices I would look at VP3G's 2.0h which is a hybrid of other ROMs to incorporate better bluetooth performance.

Suggest some speedy ROMs for my new Diamond

I've been using SwiftBL 7.5 Full and I must say I like that ROM a little more than Dutty 3.2. I got Dutty's ROM so far and I don't know where to start to look for some speedy ROMs. I'm not talking lite only, I mean anything as long as it isn't too stripped down. Let me start the specifics...
1. Full Bluetooth Functionality especially A2DP, Headset, AVRCP, and OBEX
2. Stripped to the bare minimum but functional as in no Getting Started BS, no T9 correction (it gets annoying when you do everything DIY), Help Center since this is the great and only source to come for help , Live this and that, and if possible PIE unless it will conflict with the whole deal like in regular Windows
3. Allow access to some of the most deepest settings around
4. Leaving the HTC stuff in, maybe tweaking TouchFlo a little more if possible.
I might seem to be too strict so tell me these things and the pros and cons relating to what I want in the ROM you suggest. Thanks and I'm glad to be a member here, hopefully not just a one-post wonder Keep up the great work guys.
i know the purrrrr-fect ROM for you!!!
its called...search_button.nbh
seriously just read some threads and test the ROMS yourself. Nobody is going to care about what you want and find you a ROM to suit your picky list of requests.
everybody has different views on different ROMS, so what people think maybe fast, steady and perfect may not be in your case.

best and only way to see what rom is best is to start flashing
good luck and all the best with you diamond
You can start here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=406640 , the benchmark of benchmarks... hihi
u've tried swift's and duttys... which are one of the better ones out there...
if u prefer swifts (as i do) you should stick to it...
as above no absolute 1 rom is miles ahead of another... what suits A will not always suit B and C etc...
I've been told udK isn't bad, I"m giving it a try now.
Dia Duit ROM v07
But seriously, you should try it yourself. Only you know what is the best for you

Most popular WM6+ rom?

I been browsing the forum for quite a few days, but I'm stuck on choosing a good rom one to try out. There is A TON of them here and I can't seem to choose just one. I need a recommendation for a rom that is highly stable, but not OEM.
Any help is appreciated. A personal top 5 would be cool.
Thanks,
welcome to the forum. all the chefs have great roms! try joshkosh, tae_sw, CRCinAU, kareem9nba or others. Read there threads & look at the rom pic's...only u can decide what looks good to u. Make sure u have hardspl...read the stickys! happy flashing...
CRC's rom is the one I've used the longest.. just trying out TAI_sw's Manila2D rom, but I definitely recommend CRC's.
hmm you'll get more confused with the same question that has been asked hundreds of times.
The point I am trying to make, is that each chef has got a different type of hermes, may be a 100, 200 and some even 300. So ...
For example me, I like chefs with dopod 838 pros, since they understand that they have a front camera to look after on the dialer side of things.
for ME
PDA Corner's V25, CRCinAU V13.2, and recently JLA's and Tai's and currently I am not flashing, the latest is not always the greatest, and don't flash for the sake of flashing! My 2c
I'd say try this guys ROM out...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=387990
But I might be a big biased

CRC your great man!! haha
CRC's is a great rom indeed! Clean, fast, and the Device Update is nice to install only software you want.
The answer is so subjective that the best answer is to read the threads and use number of replies as a rough estimate for traffic generated for a given Rom.
Closing this thread as redundant.

What is the best ROM!?

Nice job here, what can i say : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=470757
But, i hope to not be miss understanded, all users need something like a 1-10 number of every rom.
For me , for example Natay 2.2 is counted like 10+ ( rapid, light ( 140/60 Mb free) from me, best battery life time > 3days , with radio DiamondRadio 1.09.25.23 ).
Hope down , it will be opinions for all the roms, from different users.
Have a nice day all, who read this.
Shaks.P v4.10 UC 5.2.21042 Light
i think it will be udk's and NATALY's rom
before this thread is locked, wanted to say It's this one:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=498873
hands down
First a couple of guys will say "there's no best, dude, you have to try all by yourself", then a moderator or admin will pop out saying the same and lock the thread.
Cloudy v1.0 is very good. Stable and fast !!
For me it are AZATOR and NATALY.
The others are too far away from stock.
Dutty
Hi, I have tried some, but Dutty's latest is the one I settled with.
It's proven, reliable, and stable. From the numbers of replies and view on Dutty's thread, I am guessing it's the most used ROM. I am sure there are faster ones, but I got many programes on my device already, I am too lazy to switch now.
It would be gerat if we could take a poll. It shouldn't say WHAT IS THE BEST ROM? but WHAT ROM DO YOU LIKE (or USE)? is enough.

Thats where the UC roms come in. Flashing a new ROM doesnt get any easier with restoring everything in the process.
New roms are what keeo the Diamond alive, why would u not want to keep something fresh and updated?
Im takin bets on how long b4 this thread is closed :d
PEOPLE USE THERE DIAMONDS FOR DIFFENT THINGS SO OBVIOUSLY PEOPLE OPINIONS ARE GUNNA DIFFER, THERE ARE A FEW ROMS I LIKE, SWTOS'S NAKED ROMS ARE GREAT AND SO IT UdK'S R4 ROM, makeveral'S BsB 6.5 ROM HAS ALL THE MARKINGS OF BEING THE FIRST GR8 WINMOB 6.5 ROM ON THE DIAMOND
The best rom for me to take the manila and menus rhodium, so for me the best have not yet released, if itje fixes bugs your rom 4.3 will undoubtedly be the best.
Very Stupid!
Hi all....
I just want to say that there is a reason why you all think this thread is going be closed, and so it should be!
There is NO BEST ROM! If you named the thread: 'Which ROM do you prefer and why', then you may get some good replies and some good pointers as to why people prefer certain ROMS - Speed, reliability...etc...
This thread is pointless!! I hate it when there is a reply saying 'Duttys ROM is the best' - How does this help anyone???
Why do you think it's the best? If people gave a decent reply then it would be much better.
nataly 2.5 ftw
simple, fast, best battery, lots of space and ram, customizable

I agree. I like the Xbmod Manila, and the Touch-it 4.3 is super fast and stable. If all the small bugs can be fixed in the next release, it would be my favorite ROM for sure.

Whats the Best TP2 6.5 Rom In YOUR OPINION?

Hey, Im coming from a CDMA TP1 and Now of course have a Tmobile TP2. Ive been holding off on flashing as Ive been waiting for the Official 6.5 to come out, But the more research I do the less I feel Tmobile will get one anytime soon, Please correct me if Im wrong!
SO Ive decided to take the plunge again and Flash this bad boy, Now coming from a tp1 Ive flashed my fair share and enjoy it very Much, except one thing, bugs, There always seems to be many bugs in Custom roms and fixes are always being made. I want a lite 6.5 rom that has the least amount of bugs, I have plenty cab files to get it how I want but once again I want a rom with the least bugs, great battery and a eyecandy dont matter.
So, Whats the best Tmobile TP2 rom out right now in your opinion??????
To tell you the truth all is great! All is the same, but just look different in visuals, builds, some programs, and features. Each chef has their own style so I would say flash them all and make a decision.
I can't tell you which one is better, but I can tell you the one in my sig is awesome!
Long time i don´t see one of this.
Keep questioning away my friend.

ROMeOS ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=567161
In before LOCK in 3, 2, 1....
i have to say that i have dl many roms here and i love the new EnergyRom "Photon" (23016) with manilla 2.1 as it works better for t-mobile US, very smooth and stable good battery life no freezes, landscape works the only problem is youtube is not working but i dont really use that so its not an issue for me. this is by fay my Favorite ROM right now.
just my 2 cents!!
Dont waste your time
They are all rubbish mate, dont waste your time, wait until HTC release theirs, will happen THIS WEEK!
Are you kidding (whoever said they're rubbish), custom ROM's are 3x (at least) better than Official ROM's!
But to the original poster, you have to find your own that fits you. There is no answer, your question doesn't belong in this section, and it will only spawn battles over which ROM is best.
But you'll find all the WM6.5 ROM's here: http://thewingster.com/wm65tp2.aspx Enjoy!
Disagree
I tend to disagree with most, Including the mods, in that this is a valid question that can be asked. It is not 'rubbish to flash' and 'everyone finding their own by testing' is not good advice in my opinion. Their are two, count them 2, roms that fit the above criterion for a cooked rom. One has 1 TRUE bug... Youtube freezes the phone. Biggie or small depending. The other is the one I currently am running and believe I will stick with because it has NO bugs. Zero, Zilch, Nada! Alot needs to be said for that.
I found the first and was singing its praises when I noticed a new rom posting stating the ideal rom in my opinion. I flashed it just this morning and aftera days heavy use with all the normal trouble shooting I find it to be 100% bug free. YOU WILL FIND BUGS WITH 99% of roms. This is the exception.
The first, my second favorite, was Miris 3.0 rom running manilla 2.1, and windows 6.5.
The second, my favorite, is A.Z.T.O.R. by alphazero. It runs manilla 2.0 and windows 6.5.
any questions feel free to pm me or post here unless it gets closed. If it does, like I said, pm me.
Please keep non-development questions out of the development forums.
I moved the thread to the general thread.
The best ROM?
This has been discussed so many times before.
There is no such "Best ROM"
What´s best for me can´t be best for you.
It´s matter of tastes, what you need on a ROM and what not.
The best way is to test severals till you get your personal "Best"
The best ROM?
Sorry double post...
Nice rom.
Mosess, Dude, thanks for suggesting the rom you did. I agree 100 % this is a very stable and great rom. Im gonna mess with it for a while and see how everything agrees with me. So far so good. thanks again.
I agree with Orb! There is no such thing as best cooked ROM. Its just matter of personal preference when it comes to flashing ROM's.
If you are really looking for a stable ROM, then stick with stock ROM.
Per greedydog:
Stop "Flaming" a member on XDA.
If you happen to not like his/her/it's rom..............switch to a different one.
As for this thread..............everyone is different in likings for a rom, experiment with installing some and making your own decision.
