Build 21502 is the most recent after 21501 that has been out for maybe 2.5 weeks or so.

I dont understund too much, apparently there is : 21500 - 21501 - 21502 -51215 and 21222 is last. Hard to understand, but final 6.5 version will resolve that

any announcement from Microsoft as to when 6.5 will go gold ?

it's all rumour for now. last rumour mentioned 11th May, but no official word yet.

there are two development trees under wm6.5 that MS releases. one is 21210,21215,21222 and other is going with 21500,21501,21502.
Da_G had explained alot of things that i don remember much but 21222 are development trees and 21502 ones are more close to final builds.
21502's are more stable and 21222are faster ones..
as said 212xx are on going experiments and 215xx are the ones more stable outcomes of experiments.
21222 is 22nd April Build.

Yes complete rumour. As i read the whole 11th may saga it it was a misunderstanding. 11th may i belive is microsoft's official press release announcing wm 6.5 and not the release date of the software itself. Will prob not come until 3rd quarter at least.

I have yet to see any 21502 builds for the diamond. Hopefully soon...

21222 is better and newer than 21502

One simple question: I've tried some older versions of 6.5 and they were really slow... are the newer ones ready for use or not yet?
Thanks

Yes, 21222 is pretty fast. For sure much faster that previous ones...

"much faster"?
I'm really curious how you came to that conclusion.
I doubt it that you performed any benchmarks.
Please enlighten us...

also, carrying on from adwinp's comment, compared to WM6.1 as well.
the older 6.5 ROMs are slow, the newer ones might be faster, but as fast as soem of the cooked 6.1 ROMs?

So... I guess the answer is no, for now?

Try it and see.
BsB 6D is very good.
adwinp I doubt they've benchmarked. I'd say it's more a case of the ROM may appear/feel faster but figures may not prove that same point.

Thanks, i can read, and did it. But, in fact, in the practice i want to know. The theory i can see...
Hmm, says June at the top and April at the bottom, or is the June date for operator releases and HTC will do their own release in April?
Looks like a full boar ROM will be available to the chefs dead easily now! though i suspect they probably already have them and are tweaking the hell out of them. The cooked roms will always be better as we already know.
And where we'll get it: on the support page of our models, on HTC?
Will Cingular void your warrenty if you download it from HTC and install it?

Yes, this is good news. However, we've heard this all before. New upgrades for WM5.0 in Q1 2007 -- still waiting. "Official" HTC WM5.0 AKU3.3.1 upgrade released by Leaf Wireless in SA that HTC Europe Tech Support knows absolutely nothing about. Personally, I'll believe it when I see it.
In the meantime, JJ, LVSW, et al, keep cooking those ROMs!!!
John
Here is the English version of the upgrades from Engadget, looks like it could be this month for me, but I won't hold my breath!

[NEWS] Hermes kernel 1413 is a FAKE!

A group of us at #xda-devs on freenode started looking at the crackberry hex edit's to the kernel to make bbconnect work, and in the process noticed some strangeness in the disassembly. It appears the 1413 hermes kernel going around is in fact nothing more than build 1236. We have proven this now in assembly, the getversion function returns the value of 1236, not 1413. We are currently unsure how or where the patch occurs to visually show the faked version ID.
Midget's rom on the universal however, is truely 1413, with the same test his rom passed the correct version back.
Figured someone might like this update...
Midgets: MOVL R3, 0x585
Hermes: MOVL R3, 0x4D4
585 = 1413 decimal
4D4 = 1236 decimal
confirmed, and mine is the real deal
confirmed...it did not take long...ehehe....i compared to the real one this afternoon,it is endeed a fake... the kernel files/modules dont even match.but let not blame anyone...i belive this was done for a specific reason.
Would someone please elaborate on these implications? Does this mean that any ROM advertised in the Hermes section as CE 5.2.1413 actually is not?
Correct, 1413 does not exist for the hermes, although it's completely possible for a hybrid kernel to exist, but I for one would not think that to be very "stable". That's not to say a future kernel couldn't be legit, but if you want to be sure, drop by the irc chat and we'll help you pull apart a rom to see what it's made out of!
its really 1236 edited to 1413
similar to when that chick you've been hitting on turns out to ahve a c*ck, only not quite as bad
wow midget...I feel violated on so many different levels

if you talking about CE OS 5.2.1413 then you are incorrect....there is such rom native to the hermes.
regards....
I didn't say it doesn't exist, only that we have not seen it yet, the ones we have appear to all be the fake.
EDIT: I stand corrected, I did say that, but I later said it's highly possibly a future rom could be legit at that level...
Interesting.... Whatever the case, the current hermes WM6 build, v17913.0.3.0 has massive improvements on almost every front. Whether the kernel is patched to 5.2.1413 or not is irrelevant to this IMO. I'll leave my own ROM alone.
Hex editing the version number? That just seems wrong... but if it works then its a valid fix.

no problem ..eheh...
But please note that sometimes a cook changes such info for genuine reasons.
due to this kind of investigation some cooks may have to delay their releases for months or even not even release it till the rom becomes official...but by then who wants the cooked one when you can have the official one...i wonder what will be the consequences of posting such info....just an observation...
xda is becoming to smart for its own good.
I wonder if this was necessary to graft on the WM6 update...
All I can say is that the lvsw derivative I'm running is the most stable, fast and improved OS I've ever used on my TyTN. I can't even begin to list the improvements over the last build....
I'm certainly not saying anything about the rest of the OS build, my terminology might be misinterpreted by how new I am here. We only proved that the kernel is faked, and the coverup is not done at the kernel level. The kernel reports itself as 1236 just as it should.
I'll agree, lvsw's kernel (used in custel 2.5 also) is incredible...

well..depends what reasons are behind the fake... but in not saying it is aceptable if somone release a fake rom just to say i was the first or whatever ....remember this forum is being watched all the time.
I don't give a rat's ass considering it often ends up hex edited to support Crackberry, etc. anyway. An improvement is an improvement, no matter what the version says.
Now back to cooking, everyone!

Windows Mobile 6.5

I have seen many threads have been popping up with new 6.5 ROMS for other phones. While I know that these are NOT full versions of 6.5 they do have added features.
So my question is ... Are we (The Vogue users) going to get to see these updates.

it depends on if your chefs feel like going through the countless hours of building it and porting it to your phone. I'm sure they will eventually but it's not easy, trust me.
actually nfsfan has already been working on it. It doesn't work totally yet for the vogue (no calls and text issues) but it's on the way.
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=54245&page=2
Confilipper has already done it over at PPCGeeks. He has released a beta for Alltel users.
Pretty buggy but it's fast........
Sadly the WM6.5 build 21139 is a fake. The dsms are hexed, and so is the core. The CMHome plugin doesn't work, neither does any of the "new" addons. I ported CMHome which is supposedly a 6.5 component, however its only dependencies that are different from that of the 21014 build are XMLLite.dll and CCore.dll. Running it on 21014 build freezes the phone just like on the fake 21139 build.
Thanks anyways
sorry to hear that you waisted your time working on the 6-5 NFSMAN, thanks for doing your thing as usual.
So are all of these other 6.5 roms that we see all over the place fakes as well?
Im glad to see that we still have a group of good developers (like yourself) who are still dedicated towards bringing us the latest & greatest!
I flashed the so called 6.5 last night and it seemed fairly fast.

It isn't any faster than the 21014 at all. And nothing is new in it!! Many things are broken, because the build is a mix of a bunch of other older builds. The fileexplorer has different icons, but it doesn't look like anything MS would incorporate. Besides think about it... If this was real, MS would be all over it.
Thanks for Sprint 1.08. Works great

Do you think so? I mean, we already do SO much with the latest ROMs that's totally against warranty, contract, ect... Besides, we're all good beta testers!

rom?

is it possible to use other roms for like per say the touch pro or fuze on hermes
Short answer: No
They are designed for different hardware. Now, if you were to dump and rebuild. it can/has been done.
Why not try one of the roms here? Or even try cooking one of your own to fit your needs?
simply because i have no idea how to do that i was trying to get a wm 6.5 build 21193 for my hermes but i couldnt find one i liked
Josh will probably have 21193 soon...so, be cool & check out his latest in the mean time

Official WM 6.5 ROM - how soon to be released?

i have been using the 6.5 roms and find there are a lot of inconsistencies among the different roms. hence my question.
yes, the roms are pretty stable currently, but i would like to see a more consistent interface.
once the official version start being released on phones, how quickly will they turn up in a cooked form on xda, so that i can flash my diamond with one?
I think HTC will not be released WM 6.5 for old diamond at all

i meant an official 6.5 version converted for diamond (which would be just as good, if not better than an official diamond version)
Well the first devices to ship with 6.5 officially are the T-Mobile Wing II (Rhodium 100) and the Dopod Tachi (HTC Twin) and that is in July at some point. So expect something shortly after that.
The 21815 and 21820 prerelease builds are stable and fast!
However, WM6.5 release will leak soon, they're at the end of developing... and... in final 6.5 version I suppose that there'll be few minor changes, because latest builds are nearly perfect... so don't be anxious for final version..
And quoting incredulous, someday of July we'll have final 6.5!
