hi all,
just want to know, after flashing a ROM (with HardSPL), my screen is flickering...
is it normal ?
(coz i never get this screen flicker after flashing with original ROM)
What HSPL are you using?
I'd start with changing HSPL version, I've heard some combinations of ROM and HSPL cause this problem.
unless a hardware issues that can be caused be some versions of HardSPL and newer models of the Diamond
What SPL do you have if 1.4 the n update to this 1.93
Err... I Have
SPL-1.40.0linex
is that means that i have the 1.4 version ?
so I should change the version of SPL right ?
and by the way, my hardare button doesn't work, except the action button, the other (home, back, call, and end call doesn't work) how can i fix that ?
Thanks for the answer...

First thing to do is change to the 1.93 SPL - should fix the flicker of screen.
Buttons not working could be ROM related - which are you using?
When you flash ROMs do you do another Hard reset before using?

Thanks, I just change the SPL with 1.93, and no more flickering...!
I've tried the V6.4 Full Org TFl...
Actually I'm not sure that it causes by the ROM, because it happen after I just apply the Mirror screen Guard on it, is the hard button have a sensor on it ?
Well, sometimes I forget doHard Reset before using it...

I have just joined the community and updated my TYTN to 4.31 ROM - look great
I was wondering if anyone is facing my problem:
I have set in the Pwer settings to "turn off the device after XX minutes"
The device does turn itslef off, but it seems that only soft reset can get it back on!
The hard buttons are not responding, the devce cannot even accept calls!
Did anyone face the same problem and manage to resolve it?
As a workaround, I am currenty using, Not to trun off the device, which probably consumes alot of battery!
no i don't have this problem it is working OK with me with same schaps rom 431
did you update your bootloader? I would hard reset again. If that doesn't work then try to reflash. Make sure your bootloader was updated first though.
Lets me see if I got this straight
When I load the RGB screen, I see this information in the RED block:
HREMES200
IPL-1.01
SPL-1.40.Olipro
The Device information shows
ROM Version: Schap's 4.31
ROM date: 10/03/07
Radio Version: 1.16.00.00
What is the bootloader exactly?
What should I select when I run the Schap's 4.31 ROM, there are several options there
BTW - the OS is SLOW, is that how it is with every wm 6.1 for Hermes devices?
I got confused when I first flashed a different rom (after installing HardSPL Olipro) - I just choose Safe SSPL as a tutorial recommended I do, and I've flashed three ROMs now without an issue just by using the Safe SSPL option.
After reflashing (and updating to hardSPL) I managed to find out the problem - it was the hebrew language by Orange which has casued this.
After removing it all worked well (almost)
Hi all,
My Diamond is acting weird lately; sometimes (so far it seems at random) when I turn on the device (from standby), the display is grey'ish / scrambled, and nothing works. I have to removed the battery to get it working again.
This happens with all ROMS found here (haven't tried stock rom yet).
Anyone know what this might cause?
I'm running dev. edition SPL from olinex...
Any tips would be greatly appreciated!
/edit; Could this be SPL related?
Maybe perform the hardSPL again?
Reform the battery for a minute. After this hard reset your device a few times.
If this doens't fix the problem use your original ROM and send the device back for repair.
Would be my solution
I have the same problem. Diamond swiches to standby mode and does not resume or just the light switches on and the screen is blank. Sometimes, it even switches off while booting. All the time, I have to remove the battery. And after some "battery remove resets", the error seems to occur more and more often. It also suddenly looses the phone signal but immediately finds a new one ofter 1-2 seconds.
I think it is somehow related to the phone chip-whatever. Because when I turn the phone of it seems to run more stable. Errors are not gone but at least I can use it as a mp3 player then.
I tried lots of roms but none of them worked fine. I even restored the original spl to make sure it is not the spl. But error is still there... stronger than ever
I will send it back to htc. This thing is obviously broken. Its one of the typical qualcomm errors. These chips are... what do you say in english... moody? My old polaris had a similar error. the 3g part of the phone went away.

Hi mikkelnl... from what you described, it seems to be a typical problems with the SPL you are using. Depending on which SPL that the original ROM that came with your device, you can resolve by installing the respective 1.37 OliNex HardSPL Unsigned or the 1.93 OliNex HardSPL Unsigned by cmonex.
Try to get it from the same thread that you got the 1.40 OliNex HardSPL-Developers Edition. There is also some explanation on the problems that you are experiencing.
One more thing, Radio 1.00.25.08 also appears to have some detrimental effects on some devices after some usage. And it has a lingering effects too. Try use Radio 07 if you are in Europe or Radio 05 if you ar in Asia...
Having said all these, I must state that these are purely my observations and you really need to try it out for yourselves to know whether it works for you. I have given the same advice to about 5 users experiencing these problems and it had worked for them so far.

Hi Swiftblade!
Thanks for the reply. I've read about those newer SPL versions, but I didn't think it was the reason for my problems, since I have one of the first Diamonds (can't remember the spl version ). And; the thread mentions "fuzziness issues on some newer diamonds", my screen is not 'fuzzy', it simply is scrambled and the device completely hangs. So I didn't figure that would be the problem
Anyways; I am a bit reluctant to install a new SPL, never did that before...

Hi mikkelnl.. It's really worth a try. the description on the thread is of course vague. It is actually to deal with some discrepancy issues between SPL and the device's specification.
Doing a HardSPL will not affect your rom but it will hard reset it so you get a fresh clean rom. Do perform a backup before you do a HardSPL though. My best bet is 1.37 OliNex HardSPL Unsigned.. Cheerz
Edited: If this HardSPLs can't solve your problems then it might be a hardware issue that you are facing...
Well, I just installed 1.37 olinex, let's see if this helps
Thanks for the input Swiftblade! Now I'll just have to re-setup your 7.0 rom

You may also want to try buying a new battery if your device is old. I've seen Wizards act wierd when the batteries go bad. But they usually get swollen - battery pushes out the battery cover.
Also, have you opened your device lately? I had a problem with my reception after I changed my housing. There are small connectors that have to be bent out to touch their corrasponding spots on the circuit board for FM Radio, GPS, Wifi, ect. Have to make sure they touch the right spot.
And of course, it could just be a bad flash. Reflash and try different radios. That's all I can think of.
my wifi is not working too. After manila 2D, and i try old rom, new roms, the newest radio but not working.
Dont know why but there is a problem with my phone and i cant figure it out. Most of the time i can dial out , but there are instances where i begin to dial out, and im just waiting, and i try to end call but i cant. The phone does NOT hang or freeze, i can still go through tabs, but if i got to the call page, its still hung uo on that last call i cannot end. Hope this makes sense. Im using Dutty`s Newest rom with 2.03, tried other roms and same turnout. Hope someone can help!
Please provide detail ...
WHen did it last work fine and back step to trace what u did that might have caused a change.
Example:
• flash new rom or radio
• flash system with Hard SPL
Im using HardSpl Olinex 1.4
1.09.25.23 Radio
Dutty V4
I think its happened after my provider gave me free internet or when i went from 1.93 to 2.+ roms.
the only sw i have is tomtom and musicId.
This is really ticking me off
When u flashed your rom, did u do a Hard Reset?
if you didn't hard-reset your phone after flashing a new ROM there tends to be minor bugs..
i just had to hard-reset my phone again after trying on different radios.. it freezes my phone whenever i hit volumn button. After the hard-reset.. everything is fine now
My ATT 8525 is running
ROM version 2.15.502.3
ROM Date 04/09/07
Radio version 1.40.30.00
protocal version 32.73.7020.16H
I've been having problems with my screen fading out to white, physical send and recieve buttons not always working, and alarms that restart after every on/off cycle of my phone. Despite unchecking all the alarm boxes. I've done soft resets, to no avail. Have not done a hard reset yet.
I downloaded the WM 6 file from the ATT site back when it was available, but never installed it.
My question, Is this SW or HW trouble and might an upgrade to WM 6 fix these problems? I'm trying to keep this unit running until I can get hold of the Touch Pro 2, or whatever ATT is going to call it.
hmm.. normally a default rom would fix most software issues.. its unsure if your problem is due to hardware issues..
from my point of view.. it seems like a hardware issue.
flash out the AT&T striped without the radio and try it out.. if its software issues.. most probably its gonna be fixed.
well if it doesnt fix.. tat should mean a hardware issue.
jus keep flashing rom until u find the right one.
Thanks for the reply
