Looking For:Custom Rom with quad band feature for Diamond - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV ROM Development

Is there are any custom rom out there that have quad band feature and also save battery power and memory size?
I have flash my diamond with the Stock Rom from HTC site and had enable the 850 band, and it works well, but the problem is that it does draw quite a lot of memory, If someone can provide me with some assistance, i would greatly appreciated!!!

Most of these cooked ROMs don't include the Radio for good reason. It's left up to the user. Radios react differently from one location to another. You can flash Quad band Radios from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=470306.
Flash a Radio can be done before or after you flashed your cooked Rom.

Questions about phone types/models/ROMS/flashing (newbie) - please help if you can

Hello , I got an HTC Touch (Sprint) two weeks ago and I have been reading this site and ppcgeeks.com and have a few questions and hoping someone can help me out (please and thank you in advance)
I have a black phone which looks like an Elf but the Model No is VOGU100 - are Vogues always green? Does the model number or phone color indicate what type of phone I have?
The ROM Version is 1.12.651.1 (Date: 09/18/07). Is that old? Does it mean the phone is not new and might have been used? Should I update it?
I went to the HTC and Sprint sites but no upgrades are available.
If I choose to try a new ROM how can I copy my original ROM before trying a new one?
My Radio version is 2.13.00. What is the Radio and why is it important?
Are there any browser applications available so surfing the Internet is easier (ie, closer to surfing on the ipod)?
For hardware what does Flash size 256 MB and RAM size 128 MB and 400 MHz mean and are they good?
What does a Touch Enhanced mean and how do you know if you have one?
What is flashing and how does one do it?
To any responders, THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!
First of all, yes, you are in the right place and your phone is a Vogue which is the CDMA version of a Touch. The color has nothing to do with it.
Moving right along to flashing your rom, don't take offense, but if you gotta ask, you don't need to be flashing your device. There's lots of reading to do (on this and the other forums) that will answer your questions/give you a better understanding. Another great source of info for CDMA phones complete with detailed FAQ is ppcgeeks dot com (although they are currently down).
With where you are in your understanding of PPCs, you're better off playing with add-on applications until you get a better understanding of the O/S and the whole concept of flashing. To get you started, take a look at the NetFront 3.5 and Opera 8.65 Mobile browsers. You can find them on the web (ie google), and they are huge improvements to the Pocket Internet Explorer (PIE) that came with your phone.
Welcome to the wonderful world of phone customization where there's always something new to learn, and someone pushing the envelope!
opera mini is also available, which is quite nice, fast, and FREE
that rom and radio version are both the latest, they are not old.
the vogue has a fairly fast processor (and it is also a dual-core, but is supposedly slower than its predecessors), and more ram than most of the devices out there, so yes, that is pretty good.
though i would not call the touch fast by any means. there are performance reg hacks, supposedly htc is coming out with some performance improvements, you can change the page pool, and wizcode is supposedly close to coming up with a new version of PocketHackMaster that will work with the msm 72/7500 chipset.
the long and short of the above paragraph translates too...out of the box with a few custom apps installed, i would definitely call the vogue slow. but flash it with a clean custom rom, with a page pool of say 24 mb, wait for htc's performance improvements, and wizcodes overclocking and...this baby should move right along.
touch (elf) enhanced - i believe this simply refers to the second implementation of the touch in the gsm world. the first release of the device had only half the ram, and (correct me if im wrong cuz im unsure about this) i think that the enhanced simply has double the ram/rom of the original gsm touch -- still not as good of specs as our vogue though.
as to what is flashing, read the first 5 or so pages of all the stickies in the vogue forum over at ppcgeeks, and read a few threads such as "dereks vogue rom v6" (or something like that) for a much better grasp on what flashing is, how to do it, and lots of other things.
good luck!

as for this, the radio is merely the version of the software on your device that runs and controls your phones radio. and your version is up-to-date.

Tilt 2 Radio Rom

Does anyone know the highest radio Rom that improves the Tilt 2
The highest? Some people have different experiences with the same radio leading others to believe that their performance is a bit based on location.
So a radio taken from a European TP2 would work well for some people, but others in the US wouldn't see such good performance.
See this radio thread for a list of radios and ask radio related questions there.
I currently have 4.49.25.88 on my tilt 2 in central texas and dont have any issues.
Going to try out the latest released radio later on.
Also flashing a radio doesn't take long at all and doesn't erase any of your information (not like a rom update/flash) so dont be scared to flash one, use it for a couple days, then flash another to compare the performance between a couple radios so you know which one will work best for you.

[Q] Core Droid - Weak Signal Reception

Hi,
First: THANKS to whoever developed CoreDroid!!!
It's an AMAZING ROM - the best I tried by a looooooooooooooong way: sleek, fast(er), almost as tweakable as Cyanogen7 but much more usable and very friendly UI.
I find only one area of probles: signal strength.
Where I have clear reception with my Nokia N8, I have no signal with my DHD running CoreDroid. In all honesty, other 2 ROMs had the same problem so I am curious to ask other forum members if this is known HWare problem or if it is a ROM problem.
Japan, Softbank, rooted DHD, CoreDroid, Android 2.3.3
Any idea how to improve signal reception?
Thanks for any help!
Have you tried flashing another radio?
Flashing guide
Radio thread
I don't know if there's any different recommendations in Japan, someone else will have to help you with that.
Edit: Maybe the radio radio that came with the gingerbread leak could help.
@ Hawk,
Thanks, but I am using that very radio...! (BTW, who developed CoreDroid? It's a really cool ROM).
Japan has a bit of a tricky situation with the carrier's frequencies etc... and before blaming the ROM I was wondering if anyone has had any experince with flashed ROMs signal weakness in this country or... I is anyone aware of reported issues with this specific new CoreDroid 4.8 on Sense 2.1 (signal levels)?
Sam? Others?
TIA for any help... would be much appreciated...

Whatever you do, stay away from CoreDroid V5. Personalize button does not work! I read it somewhere in the forum, but wanted to try it by myself, and found the fact.
Regarding the Radio, I never faced any big signal problem with the LeeDroid recommended Radio, but battery life issue was something I was waiting to be developed by some guru someday. Now, running CoreDroid V4.8 (over a week), and Radio 12.35d.60.140fU_26.08.03.07_M (since last night) I'll be watching for a few days before feeling any difference between the two Radios. I already got a feeling with better battery life with the new Radio.
Sam,
Instead of "feeling" how about "measuring" the signal strength and batt life?

best radio(baseband) for signal power

what's the best radio(baseband)for the most powerful signal???
in my work place i have no signal but all my coworkers with cheap cell phones have full signal
I would check and see which provider they use. They might be closer to a transmission tower for that network.
They might be operating on 2g. I'm no rocket scientist, but seems to me, hardware requirements are less for 2g, thus, maybe they are a touch stronger.
Also (what the dealers don't tell you) is that a european ph has more reception power than a US spec ph. (no FCC restrictions). Guess I'll cook my brains a little faster. Mine is manufactured in China, so I'm on hi-power.
It's like a can full of nuts. But if you think it's a big issue, swap out phones.
I assume you are not rooted, and running stock ROM.

Hi!
I tried the same ROM (rcmixhd 3.6. d2sd) and with this radio signal is powerfull...
RADIO: 32.56.00.32U_5.17.05.08 U can find it at Leedroid,s latest post with 3.0.2 GB Rom.
If it's not prob tell me are U satisfied with rcmixhd 3.6. D2SD? For me it was great, but I wanted GB instead of FROYO... so i flashed RcmixHD v8.0 A2SD GB. And still cant decide between those 2 ROMs...
agree with this....very powerful

cdma sense 3.0 rom?

are there any roms with sense 3.0 or better that are for the cdma devices?
Check dev section.
been there and checked it out but not sure what roms will work with the cmda uscc version of the desire?
If it's not explictly written in the rom's thread, then it's not supported.
I was looking into this as well. It seems all support is for the GSM version of the phone, but much of the US, aside from those on AT&T and T-Mobile, use CDMA phones. I'm currently using CyanogenMod, but I'd also be interested in an upgraded Sense ROM.
There are ROMs in the dev section here that claim to have CDMA support via a CDMA patch, but I've tried all of them, and in most cases my phone will boot, but certain features won't work. I've even had everything work except for wi-fi, which is rather important. For now, I guess there's no Sense 3.0 or 3.5 support for the CDMA Desire.
Yep, Wifi, accelerometer and some other stuff isn't working. It probably never will. Thats what we get for having a phone that isn't a flagship on sprint/verizon
coolexe did a CDMA version i think called cooldroid... but it wasnt bang up to date with sense 3.0/3.5 - think it only had 2.1
