Hi there,
Is there a really simple FREE low memory program that will allow you to assign a hardware button to toggle the device/key lock on & off?
i.e. pressing & holding the end call softkey rather than hitting the today screen plugin.
Thx,
GW
No-one have a solution for this?
If topic alady covered, apologies. Please direct to post if one is present
Hi Gulioth,
I've tested two solutions for your problem
1. is slide to unlock, also known as SU2
You can start his app by pressing a predefined key.
2. Install the htc home customizer plus htc home. On the tap apps, you can define a shortcut to lock your device. it is the simple WM lock.
For me the last solution appeared to be the best, although you have hit the screen.
If you can't find the apps, post again and I'll try to find the links
Thanks for feedback & suggestions.
I cannot use the htc home customizer plus htc home as it's causes the phone to lag & crash frequently.
Just looked at S2U2 & I think it would do the job however which version would work well with the Artemis/XDA Orbit?
Are there other alternatives?
Anyone help us out here? Just want to know if S2U2 would be the best solution for my query, and if so, which version would work best for this handset? Also any alternative recommended programs out there?
Cheers
hey,
I use S2U2 as screen locking. Currently have the latest version and works fine with the artemis, although sometimes when unlocking, the screen gets locked immediately again.
there are some other apps like throttle lock, but I don't know those can be hooked to a key like you say (i.e. pressing the red button two seconds or so)
such a key-hook would be great!
unfortunately I don't know about programming for WM

Ok thanks I'll give it a go.
One last thing - is it best to install the QVGA or VGA version for the Artemis??!
since the artemis screen is 320x240 which is a quarter of VGA (640x480), QVGA would be the choice

LOL I figured it out cheers
At the risk of being a smarta$$ - wouldn't a quarter of 640x480 be 160x120??!!
640 x 480 = 307 200 pxl
320 x 240 = 76 800 pxl
307 200 / 76 800 = 4
Here is the quarter
I'm seeing all kinds of stuff out there about full duplex capabilities on the TPII. Does this mean I can finally record all my conversations without having to go to speakerphone?
I would prefer to record all calls to businesses like Time Warner, ATT, Banks, and ESPECIALLY insurance companies....where just the threat of recalling (and playing for the insurance commission) a recorded conversation has yielded very positive results in the past. Neither my Tilt nor Fuze could do it and I'd love to upgrade with this feature in mind.

I´m sure it will
Even my Old Universal support 2 way recording perfect!
I would have assumed my Fuze would have had this feature given the fact that so many other handsets support it - but no dice. Good thing I was given the Fuze as a free replacement for my 3rd replaced Tilt so I will still qualify for upgrade when the TPII comes out.
I would just like to see if anyone can answer this conclusively - maybe I can call HTC and ask? Would they even know how to respond to such an inquiry?

Well....
Give it a try and let us all know!
Sent a support email to HTC...will post the results as soon as I receive a response.
In the meantime - if anybody knows for SURE, please let me know.
I never knew such a feature existed. Way to take the initiative js, I look forward to hearing what HTC says.
Can anyone confirm if there is support for call recording and any apps out there that will do it.
I was hoping to find a away of call recording and attaching it to a calender entry automatically.
Thanks
I'm confirming that the TP2 has 2 way call recording. I just used the notes application while in call and it records both me and the other side of the line.
Is there an application like those available on Symbian phones to automatically record conversations and after the call ask if you want to keep it?
I would suggest Resco Audio Recorder or Vito Audio Notes.
I can confirm TP2 supports 2-Way recording, but you have to make some chenges to the reg to enable it:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\AUDIOGAIN]
"AUDIO_DEBUG_FLAG"=dword:00000040
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL]
"RingingAddressId"=dword:00000000
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\WaveDev]
"VocRecPath"=dword:00000002
After this, perform a soft-reset, then you can use any In-Call recording software, like Vito Audio Notes.
This reg hack works on my Touch Pro2 Hong Kong Chinese Version.
Just wondering why you had to do the hack when whtrbt7 reported no issues recording?
Are both sides clear and have level volume? I'm guessing you don't have to use the speaker for this to work right (like I did with my TP and Tilt)?
It might depend on the ROM of your TP2. Mine came with 2 way recording and as I check the registry, it looks like the entries jzhok posted are on there already. Others may have to put the registry edits in for 2-way recording.

The Path or the actual key? You may have to make the key or part of the path if it's not present.

perfect, thanks. Did not knew that pressing OK in notes would take me to another sub menu.
Considering buying touch hd, but being able to use gpsdash2 is reasonably important for me. Does it work? If yes, does it work at full resolution? My present pda is a mio a701 and I use gpsdash2 with 1:25.000 maps for registrering botanical locations. Your feedback will be appreciated.

Ok, so nobody seems to know gpsdash2. Is there anybody out there who would be so fantastically kind as to download and install the program and give me some feedback (I know it is a lot to ask)?
Gpsdash2 can be found here:
http://wimobi.com/gpsdash/overview.ppc2.php
I bought this software what seems years ago for my HTC smartphone (qtek 8310). At that time, it was way ahead of its time. Then, after one update, the developer went offline and never reappeared ever since.
At the moment, I am using Oziexplorer which does the job even better and is supported. Obviously, I now have a ppc (touch HD) and no longer a smartphone.
Conclusion: stay clear of Gpsdash2. It's dead.
Thank you for answering. You are right, of course, gpsdash2 has not been developed for some time. However, I would still like to know how it performs on touch hd, as it it is the program I am used to.
I had a look at Oziexplorer and that will be my alternative, if I cannot use gpsdash2. Does Oziexplorer utilies the full resolution of touch hd?
Doesnt boot on mine sry

I am not sure. It does occupy the full size of the display but the templates you call upon are not 800x480. I don't think it makes a difference as you don't need this sort of resolution with oziexplorer. The maps are actually processed by the software in multiple resolutions, which allows to have crystal clear displays as you zoom in and out. Seing is believing: test it and you'll forget about gpsdash2.
Hope that helps.
ive just tried this on dutty 3.3 XT rom and i get FRamework error? sayin to reinstall.
any ideas why this wont work?
Let's have a look at
HTML:
http://www.vitotechnology.com/en/products/smartnavigator.html
VITO SmartNavigator works on Blackstone without problems and looks better than gpsdash2.
Problem solved
Thank you all for your replies. Did not get any real feedback on the functionality of gpsdash2, but you gave me some alternatives. Went ahead and bought the touch hd anyway (what an instrument!!!), and after trying both gpsdash2, your suggestions and a couple of other gpsprograms, I came to the following conclusions:
1. Gpsdash2 works to a certain degree if you change screen resolution to vga before installing and before using. However, I am not able to access all menus, so that dosen´t really work for me.
2. Tried Oziexplorer and it is obviosly a wonderfull program. For my needs it is overkill (I don´t need all those functions) and it costs real money. I´ll will certainly keep it in mind should my needs change.
3. Had a look at Vito Smartnavigator, and it would probably have done the job. However, it worries me that the program dosen´t figure on Vito homepage and I had to download from some random site. So what about development and even more important, where to buy a license?
4. Tried some freeware programs and ended up with Terracrosser, http://terracrosser.com, and it does excatly what I need and no more. I have to use sattelite photos instead of 1:25.000 maps, but the program downloads and saves them automatically from google with precise geographical calibration, and I can get the equivalent of 1:6.000 maps if I need it. So a lot less work for me.
Again, thank you all for your contributions.

Terracrosser
I have been using terracrosser and it is wonderful. Best thing is, it is a freeware and I can download goolge maps or yahoo maps (both map and satellite images). It is really easy and I can download selected region. I have maps of places I visit frequently and I add new maps if I am visiting new places. It also works with gps and also gives speed.
The user interface is not so touch screen user friendly when it comes to scrolling the maps. But not a big problem as map scrolling is seldom needed when you have gps. Also the program is under development so lot of new features are being added.
Is there any way to select the snooze interval on the pro2?
Right now, when I get a reminder, the snooze only has a duration of 5 minutes. There is no way to select a different interval.
On my Kaiser (and many other phones) I could select a snooze duration (ranging from a few minutes to a few days).
This one is driving me nuts. If I want a reminder a few days in advance, only being able to snooze for 5 minutes is ridiculous!

I miss this function too, i was using my kaiser as my morning alarm clock, and it was great to be able to sleep 15 more minutes or 1 hour if i was really tired just by snoozing it...
But now with the TP2, i cannot do this anymore (5 minutes is not enough, and then i dont want to be late for work )
If i recall correctly Windows Mobile 6.5 has functionality for setting the snooze time
This solution for the Blackstone works also fine on the Rhodium.
Thanx to CrAcKwHoRe
Sorry, but this solution still doesn't work for me... before (Ipaq 914c with WM6.1), if I received an alarm notification I could choose a time of 5-10-15-30-60 or som minutes for snoozing time... now I can only choose "snooze" (for 5 mins) or ignore...
DUTCH ROM
Try changing it manually:
Start a registry editor and navigate to key:
HKLM/System/Shell/Notification/OEM
Change the value of CustomUIDLL from NotificationLayout.dll to NotificationLayoutNew.dll
Just add New, it won't find that .dll and starts the old interface, with the snooze option.
Don't forget, after the registry change, turn the TP2 off and back on to activate.
Works for me like a charm (TP2 WWE, but should also work on a dutch machine)
Have you tried using gAlarm? www.ageye.de
It's pretty good! I also use gProfile to automatically switch the phones profile (silent, vibrate, etc.) depending on the time of day.
This fixed work perfectly with my TP2.....Thanks very much.

This helped a lot, thank you!
But, isn't there a way (registry?) in order to add custom values like 30mins, 2hrs, 4hrs, 8hrs?
Thank you!
Yup, confirmed working on TP2 :> Thanks!

I agree! I don't like the need to install separate programs while this functionality may as well be available out of the box!
I would love that too, but I'm afraid that's not a reg change, but build into a dll
If someone knows how to change that, please tell us!

Now, if only the TP2 had a scroll wheel....
Is there a way to add more snooze intervals: like 30 mins, 2 hours, 8 hours, 12 hours, 2 days...etc???
Coucou!
Once again, is there any way to customize snooze intervals???
Thanks for those who may have an idea...
cRaCKwHoRe's Snooze ...works, but...
it looks ugly - it introduces piece of old interface into new environment... it is not finger friendly...personally, I am pissed enough even to be reminded that to have to use this old ugly dialogue to get rid of it makes me feel even worse - it is hard to believe that there is no solution to this - mabe some app that would handle all alarms including the appointment and task ones...or at least dialogue (6.5 looking) with more times to select from...I spent literally ours googling it with no success - does anybody know some solution? Thanks in advance

I agree, I installed it thinking it would use the Touch Flow interface and allow me to set a longer snooze.
I like how Touch Flow lets you see the info if you have a con call number in the appointment, it makes it easy to dial.

Hi,
unfortunatedly my dialogue partners almost can't hear what I'm telling them via HTC Touch Pro 2 although I'm not whispering. Is there a way to improve the microphone sensivity?
Could it be a solution to change the AudioPara3.csv?
The parameters
B23,CE_REC_INC_MIC
B24,CE_REC_EXT_MIC
C8,CE_REC_INC_MIC
C9,CE_REC_EXT_MIC
F23,CE_REC_INC_MIC
F24,CE_REC_EXT_MIC
make me fell that they are related to the micro. Are they? What are they for?
A page with a closer description of the AudioPara3.csv might be helpfull to learn more about its functionality. Any link?
In addition I'd like to know, what the following files on my HTC Touch Pro 2 are for:
AudioPara.csv
AudioPara3_ATT.csv
AudioPara3_Boot.csv
AudioPara3_O2_V4.csv
AudioPara3_TMO.csv
AudioPreProcessTable.csv
Could it be, that they are called instead of the AudioPara3.csv? Is this the reason why my AudioPara3.csv-Modifications don't show any reaction, if I implement the modified AudioPara3.csv?
Thanks for any hints
