How to set my GPRS manually? - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV ROM Development

Does anybody know?

not sure what you mean .. how to set it up ? "Connections" maybe ?

start->settings->connections->connections->advanced->select networks
here you could add a new connection, settings are carrier specific
this question is not for Diamond ROM development Forum, should be in the Diamond->Diamond Forum
if you read the rules properly, you might get better and quicker answers to questions!
good luck!

Sticky suggestion

We should have a stickied thread that has GPRS settings for different networks.

Good idea!
Let´s start with this thread and if a lot of people participate then you can ask Mods to make it a sticky
Just takes someone to update the WIKI? Then for the Flashin ROMs for noobs to have a link to WIKI connection settings as soon if more STICKYs we won't have a front page.
I'd update WIKI but just get in a loop when do, next week when back on Broadband i'll get around to it if provided with info, know tmo & BT are there...
Just as an idea i'd drop the general forum sticky, put the stippin Dash up there & i'll put the 270 fix in with Bootloader & Hard-Reset.
Then just as above things need interlinking. Maybe even an FAQ to answer all the questions @ once blah blah?
i like the idea of a all-in-ones noob guide to the dash.
could include all kinds of things from how to set up data connections, how to flash, how to recover from failed flash, my guide to take the dash apart , and just links to all kinds of useful things
i know theres a wiki but this could be on the excalibur page

[Q] Should each 'Cook/ROM' have its own section

I think each ROM should have its own section not just a thread. I find searching through 1000+ posts for one bit of info very hard work, and I bet others do as well. Search is good but unless you know the exact wording its not always the best option.
With each ROM having its own section each question will be in its own thread, making finding the answers to repeated questions much easier.
What say the masses ?
Thanks
interesting idea...but think not possible or..?
You know requesting new sections every day would be pain in the arse for moderators?
It's good as it is now.
When you have one sub-forum for each rom then you have a loooooooong list ... and thats not better then so
Questions shouldnt be in dev section - so there are only dev threads -> done
Question about an spezific rom can be posted in the rom thread.
I think this can be achieved through "Related Threads" (With some modification). So that once u open a thread from one developer all this threads in the same section apear at the bottom.
Just a wild idea
Maybe the mods can make the most useful/best roms sticky...
agree! very hard and sometimes slow to search through 10,000 posts .. it 's often a nightmare to follow the thread

even with search button.. e.g. you search for an issue on battery.. you see someone who asked the question... then i must scroll down(or move next page) to search if someone actually replied and gave a solution to the issue (assuming a there's a reply or solution to the question)... in between you have tons of other unrelated questions/replies/opinions/thanks etc... lol i think you know what i mean

The masses say no. We like asking the same questions all over again, or even better opening the new threads for every query we have.
Your idea is good but what you propose can't be done. It can't be avoided as it would be a forum utopia sort off. Google is more powerful than forum search. Good info doesn't necessarily have to come from XDA.
And for starters this thread is in totally wrong section.
How about a section for roms with sense and a section for roms without sense? or maybe section for ports from other devices and a section for "almost" stock roms. Mabye 2 - 4 subcategories would be a good idea. Another good idea would be that the cooks would use a specific format for the thread names like "Update/Date - Rom name - Version - Cook".
just my two cents in some bad english ^^

[Q] Registry key for Always On WiFi?

Has anyone been able to find the registry key that makes WiFi turn off when it's locked and not plugged in?
I think no one could find that till now, but you can research a little bit in the phone's regeditor and tell us if you can find something.. I searched, but couldn't find in my HD7..
coulndt find any but some of the clue point towards a D state type of thing
A) This post is a question and this forum is not for questions.
B) This question has been asked many, MANY times before (seriously, use search)!
C) There is already a thread for this kind of topic (registry tweaks).

3G not working after rooting with cyanogenmod7

Hello All,
Last Saturday I rooted my Wildfire and installed Cyanogenmod7. Its brilliant and super fast now. But I found that 3g is not working. Anybody do have a solution?
Asking because I do have a good 3G plan and I dont want to waste it. Also as a techy I do have to check my emails time to time

Any fix for SMS sending/recieving failure on CM9/10 derivatives?

I wont post this in General thread coz almost all of the LU6200 specifics arent resolved there or with either poor hints.
I have tried a variety of PAC-JB/CNA/PA 4.1.x roms from develoid and all of them have one common issue i-e. not working SMS service. (even after putting the smsc# in *#*#4636#*#* menu). GSM calling works fine.
So if any of you knows a work around for this kindly come up. I am talking about the only roms I have tried with baseband 8660/9200 since its the same baseband provided with Bell_v20e rom by wflsl. Specifically SangROM's PAC and PA on develoid. It will be a day or two before I move to another phone and give up on the 10hr backup with barely a gsm support at all.
I humbly request not to move this thread to general/q&a section coz hardly any devs read threads there I might get a skim or two here in Dev catagory.
Thank You!

Sorry, but if we allowed that to happen there would be no need for separate forums. We have specific sections for specific reasons.
