Hi,
I am unable to find the XDA Flame forum on this site. Is here one or what is the XDA Flame name as HTC?
my quesiton is this:
Hi,
My relative gave me their XDA Flame - they bought it in summer 2007 and used it till summer 2008. They said they never had any problems with it. It was boxed since July 2008 till December 2008, when he gave it to me, to replace my XDAII!
Now the main issue is:
XDA Flame is not usable to turn on via the "turn on/off" swtich on the top left - screen stays blank - only by soft reset then it comes on and all is ok then. Why is this? This is a constant problem!
When after some time - i am so far seeing over an hour - I am not using the XDA flame - when i want to and press the on button - it does not come on. I press all the buttons, it does not work. I have to soft re-set to be able to use it. If ater 10-20 minutes i press the turn on button (on the top left), it comes on. If like I go to sleep and wake up, or after a one hour lunch (and no call received or sent), then the XDA Flame does not turn on - will see the green light flashing all the time indicating the phone is on, and that is it. Last night someone called me when the fone was on vibration at 20.30..but I noticed it at 21.00 and the phone was constantly vibrating with a BLANK screen as usual.
i tried with the old battery (which after fully recharging to 100% drains to 10% in 10-30 minutes - any ideas why?) - and that was the same problem.
Any ideas?
Doesn't answer your question but there is an XDA Flame specific forum elsewhere.
Thanks!
Thanks!
why does XDA Flame has its own specific forum from the rest of the XDA models? Is it not a true XDA phone, or a very unique special phone to be not here but on another website of its own?
I have had XDAII since 2004 summer , till I got the XDA Flame and found XDAII v.good (besided crashing every 6-30 weeks), but XDA Flame 1. battery runs down big time and 2. have to soft-reset it to use it, as screen is blank and buttons are non responsive. very strange.
Hi,
The Flame isn't made by HTC so there won't be a forum on here any time soon.
The orginal request for the forum was here.
With Flar (Site Admin)'s final word on the matter in post #27

i would create in my forum but i cant think of enough users to post there iytll get a bit rubbish if a make a forum and then have no posters

Flashed O2 ROM to unlock, didn't work as still asked for GID code.
Re-installed xda developers ROM, still asked for GID code, just for the hell of it I typed in 4 zeroes and was very supprised to see popup box appear at the top of phone screen saying T-mobile  so phone now works...almost. All the external buttons don't work.
Only way to switch xda on is to put it into its cradle, only then do the buttons work.
If I remove power cable from cradle xda stays on with the green LED flashing.(all buttons still working). If I then remove xda from cradle and start to use programs etc, it shuts down only to be restarted in cradle again.
Thought it may be a battery problem but the battery power bar in settings says it's fully charged.
Does anyone out there have any ideas about this please.
Cheers Guys

Did you carry out a hard reset after burning the new rom? You can sometimes get weird problems if you only do a soft reset. It may also be that you have a button stuck in the down position. Also check setting under settings/personal/buttons.
Cheers, but I did do a hard reset.
I've now re-installed Rom 3 times with same result, although with the last one, xda stayed on a bit longer before it crashed.
Thanks

Hi, new to the site but already got loads of tips and adice, thanks. Wonder if someone could help me with this one. I have recently purchased an XDA IIs, everything was woking fine untill I tried to update the software from the O2 website, now my device is dead, even with the battery off (for 4 hours now) it says SERIAL at the top of the screen and v2. 02 at the bottom. The device now will not sync with my computer, will not turn on, charge or respond in any way, I have reset using the button along with pressing the on/off button, what else can I do or is it now shagged.
Thank you in advanse..
Regards
Paul

i have xda orbit I since 2007. never had problem with it until last week.
My phone turned off, so i turn it on for 1 minute and again turned off iitself. after few days of testing and flashing, hard resetting, now it only turns on rarely for 5 sec and the screen gets white from bootscreen. i've tried all types of roms.
when i plug charger, the led won't turn on, only when i take the AC plug, green and red light appears for a moment. also sometimes red light (upper right) blinks randomly, but now it is even hard to turn on. chances to turn on is like 1:100.
what can i do? throw through the window?
I have this exact same problem
Hi there,
I was just looking through the threads to find a solution to this exact same problem - it's been happening for about 3 days now
Anyone got any suggestions please......
Thanks
anyone? where are experts? if it's only for rom development, it's useless, everyone could make rom...

pff lol cry me a river. a lot of experts of Artemis moved on to new HTC phones or other stuff.
Hello people I am desperate with my HOX.
After spending one month in service my HOX returned to me with new board and new battery last Friday of September.
One week later I already had 2 problems.
At first battery didnt last longer than 5 hours.
After a few full charges over the days this was fixed as the phone lasted at least 14 to 15 hours which is fine by me.
Today I turned it on in the morning and everything was fine.
Due to excessive work load I did even touched my phone for the next 8 hours.
After finishing work I tried to check if I had any calls or anything but to my surprise the HOX was off !!!!!!!!!!
I tried turning it off but it was dead.
I performed a full charge and this time the phone made the sound of the turning on but only the menu buttons turned on but the screen remained black.
Is there something I can do about this?
Your help will be very much appreciated.
sounds like your board has screwed up again, mine was same issue

Well it shouldnt be the board because the phone is working behind the screen. I reboot holding the power button down and the phone vibrates and makes the htc sound turning on.The screen came up once or twice but it was unresponsive. The clock and weather was right on but the phone also showed that it was on airplane mod.Pushing all around I even heard the navigation welcoming me.
Its really bizzare.I cant understand what is causing this and I suspect it should be pretty simple.....

Tried every trick and gimmick I read about from a dozen forums but nothing worked. All of the sudden at some point the screen appeared and it even let me unlock but trying to bring up the htc clock and apps got stuck in the middle of the screen and hitting the power button dissapered and went to black again.Off to service it goes on Monday for the 3rd time since May and the 2nd for the last month.I hope they will accept to replace it this time......

Hi all,
First post here and unfortunately not a nice one. I picked up a new HTC 10 on my way through Dubai the other day and its not a happy phone.
Every now and then when I unlock the device it starts registering touches at the top middle of the screen in a very straight line without any input from me. This drags down the notification tray and starts causing havoc. Basically the phone becomes useless and has mind of it own. Turning the screen on and off a few times returns the phone back to normal again. Then a when I unlock the phone again a few minutes later it starts up again. I have tried wiping and resetting the device but nothing.
I have a screen shot of it happening but cant seem to upload it: "To prevent spam on the XDA forums, ALL new users prevented from posting outside links in their messages"
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Sounds like you got a messed up phone. The touch panel is super sensitive in the 10.
