Hi everybody
I´ve upgraded from 1.93 to 2.03 official DAN ROM and after the flashing I used sprite backup 6.5.4. to make a level 1 restore so all my programs and settings would be intact.
I it worked out quite well, all is good except one thing in the touchflo music tab. I cant seem to start any music, I can browse in the library and also choose next or prior song (up and down) on the play button just wont start playing.
Has anybody a solution so I wont have to build/install everything up from scratch?

Touchflo sees the folder /storage/music and also lets me navigate in all the tabs when entering left library button. The problem is getting selected folder/number to play. Button just dont react, normaly the timebar starts moving and one can se the lenght of the song. Mine is 0.00 in both ends...and the songs is not corrupt, can play them both from a usb conected PC and before the merging/level 1 restore.

Just got hold my new Orbit and I must say I'm very impressed. I've had just about every xda released over the years and I would never have dreamed of having so many features packed into such a small package a few years ago.
Anyway, I have a couple of questions which I'm hoping someone can help me with.
Something that has always bugged me about transfering files onto the device is that using USB via activesync seems about 10 times slower than using a memory card reader. Now that the memory card is not easily accessed is there a faster way to transfer files from pc to memory card? Is there a setting somewhere in Activesync to speed things up or some other faster way (bluetooth, wifi etc?)
Secondly, is there an easy way to key/screen lock this phone and/or turn the screen off while playing mp3's?
Assuming I'm playing a few mp3's in MediaPlayer or TCPMP, I want to be able to put it in my pocket right? So far the only method I've found is to close the player and hit the "lock device" on the today screen. Two problems with this though... Every time the mouse is touched (constant movment in my pocket) the backlight comes on. To then pause the music, adjust the volume or change track I have to first unlock it, reopen the player and hit the button, then go through the whole rigmarole again.
Why can't it just keep playing after switch off like the radio
bump.
Anyone?
USB transfers are always slow.
Try deltalock (freeware) for the screen problem - assign it to a key.
Mortsaver is also pretty good for the screen issue.
This may solve the screen off while playing MP3s as it has a screen off button built in
Today Player is a cool mp3 player on today screen, only takes up one line, also shows battery & memory bars when not playing music, and equaliser bars when it is, free download at http://www.pocketpcfreewares.com/en/index.php?soft=811
I've been on the forum as a 'casual browser' for sometime now but I'm pretty sure this is my first post on here, so 'Hello' everyone out there.
I've just recently upgraded my vario II to WM6. I first tried Black Satin then thought I'd have a dabble at cooking my own ROM image. I've been playing around with the Pandora kitchen over the last week, creating various images with ROM versions 3.61 and 3.62. Last night I flashed what I thought was going to be my final build. However, I've noticed something strange with the audio playback in standby mode.
The image I have flashed at the moment I created using the 3.62 ROM (CE 5.2.1622 | Build 18125.0.4.2). I added the HTC Kaiser 6 button home plugin and HTC Audio Manager from the touch. When I play music through the home plugin if I put the device into standby/sleep mode by pressing the power button the music will continue to play as it should but stops when it gets to the end of the track and won't continue to the next track in my playlist. When I take the phone out of standby/sleep it'll continue to the next track. Only solution at the moment is to just use the 'device lock' shortcut on the home plugin but the this means the screen won't turn off while the device is in my pocket.
The thing thats really bugging me is that, if I remember correctly, this functionality was working correctly on the build I had flashed on my vario II yesterday. that was created with the 3.61 Rom from the pandora thread. the only other differences in the build as far as i can remember is that yesterdays image didn't have GSFinder installed and todays does.
Unfortunately I didn't keep the build i used yesterday but I'll have ago at creating another image tonight and confirm that it was working correctly with the 3.61 Rom. I really don't want to go back to that Rom version though just to get this working. With the 3.61 Rom my vario seemed to be using up alot more memory than it does with the newer one.
Has anyone else noticed this behaviour with any of the roms they've tried?
Thanks,
Hif

Yes Audio Manger sucks in this respect. I simply use the HTC Home configuration tool to set WMP as player instead. Problem solved. There is also some nice skins that gives WMP big buttons and looking more like Audio Manager. I don't think changing rom will make any difference.

I wasn't able to configure the HTC Home plugin to work with Windows Media Player as i didn't have the HTC Home configuration tool but I got the other Music Plugin to work with both Media player and Audio Manager. Both of there have the same problem when startd from the Music plugin too, i.e. music stops after the track finishes in sleep mode. So it seems its not specific to just the Audio Manager app or the HTC Home plugin.
Any other suggestions anyone?
File caching causing problem
I had a play around with some ROMs last night I managed to work out what was causing the problem for Windows Media Player but not for Audio Manager. By disabling file caching using the Advanced Configuration tool I managed to get Media Player to play the next track but this doesn't seem to fix Audio Manager. Does audio manager use its own file caching?
Anyone???
Surely there's some techie person out there who knows whats going on under the hood???

Probably you start the program whith your ear.
Try to put the phone in sleep mode during call, probabbly your problem will be gone.
I always push the power button on the right top corner of the HD when I start calling or am being called.
Good luck!
You haven't mapped the call/answer button with aeb or mobilemagic to start tomtom have you?
I am also getting this on a Tytn II/Kaiser
Definately not hitting buttons or anything - it's really annoying.
Me too. Even more strangely, it opened a TomTom screen from a trip I made before getting this Touch HD, and I'm using new Tom Tom version and new map. So it must have accessed a file on the storage card copied over from my Diamond. Then put this into its Start list.
Sanitising the Start list, and then using Memmaid and cleaning everything out in Protected mode solved the problem. Good luck.
Tom Tom
Hi All,
Not 100% sure why but this is my experience:
When tomtom is closed by holding down the end key or from the application switcher, some tomtom process still remains open in the background (you can see this by going in to task manager).
Then for some reason, when on a phone call tomtom starts running again.
Solution: End tomtom properly by pressing "Exit Application".

Great info mike, thankyou. Will give it a go soon but I just got back from hols.
Greetings all!
This is the weirdest problem ever. When I purchased my X1i, I purchased iGo8 along with the map of Egypt. I set it up, then moved the files installed to my phone memory to the memory card; i.e. all related files were stored at “Storage Card/iGo8”. It worked like a charm! I flashed my phone several times afterwards for all different reasons and every time I would just run iGo8 from the memory card without having to re-install it. Simply I would copy the “iGo8.exe” file and paste a shortcut to it in the “/Windows/Start Menu/Programs” folder.
A few weeks ago, I decided to build everything from scratch again since I was going through a complete data migration on my home network. I backed up everything, formatted the memory card and flashed the phone. I installed everything from scratch including iGo8. Now I have files on the phone memory, which I didn’t move this time, and others on the memory card including the map, the 3D buildings file, and other resources such as help, voice, etc…
For the sake of safe driving, I enabled the “iGo8 Today Plug-in” on the “Microsoft Today” Panel so that I can start the program without having to touch the screen or take out my stylus; just scroll down and click to load. Afterwards, I noticed this weird behavior: after a few times of switching panels, or either after approximately an hour or so, if I clicked on the X Panel button, it would wait for 3 seconds before illuminating the LED (usually it illuminates the LED almost instantaneously) and then nothing happens! The panel I am on would freeze and if I waited for 5 seconds or so it would resume normal operation. If I got a little pushy and pressed the X Panel button again or tried clicking on the d-pad in any direction then clicking on the centre button (thinking I might be able to blindly choose another panel) I would get the message "We’re sorry! PanelManager.exe crashed/send error report".
I unchecked the "Today Timeout" option but the problem persisted. Next I unchecked the iGo8 Today plug-in and ever since PanelManager.exe has never crashed, not even once! The phone has been running for two weeks straight now without turning it off or soft-resetting it, with me switching panels all the time! I just don't understand why anything like that would happen! I can’t find any logical reason for it! Do I need an edit to the “sys” file?! That glitch and the fact that iGo8 doesn't display properly in landscape mode are really pissing me off! Now, every time I want to start iGo8 for car navigation I either have to pull over or fiddle with my phone while driving, which I really don't like.
Any one encountered the same problem? Should I try to add a plug-in key to the registry and have it point to a certain iGo8 DLL file instead of using the available “Today” plug-in option? I found this registry edit where you can add a Wireless Manager and I fell in love with it ever since. Any feedback would be seriously appreciated! If you ever come to Egypt I will take you to the Giza Pyramids free of charge!
Some useful data:
-----------------
- X1i, Black, Production: Week 17/2009
- Firmware: R3AA - Generic UK
- Phone Lock: Set to 60 minutes, simple PIN code
- Panels: Today, SBP MS 3.0.1, PointUI Home2, On-the-Road, Media-Xperiance, Radio, Skype 2.5, CNN, 3D Fish
- Apps: Bing, Communicator Mobile, Garmin Mobile XT, iGo8(obviously!), MS NewsBreak, MS Reader, Registry Editor, SkyFire, YouTube Client
- System Packages: .Net Compact Framework 3.5, Sony Ericsson ActiveX deployment, SDKCerts
- Registry Tweaks: Today Wireless Manger, Hide Plug-in Separators
?!
217 views and not a single reply? Is it a stupid question? No one has ever encountered that problem?!
I found a fix!
Navigate to the following reg key:
[HKLM]\Software\Microsoft\Today\Items\iGO8
Delete the value:
Enabled_save [DWord] =1
Now you can have an iGo8 Today plugin (the one automatically created during the installation or a manually-added-to-the-registry one) without impacting Panel Manager in any way. I tried enabling all of plugins (Windows Live, Live Search, Skyfire, Skype, etc...) and the phone has been working well for 6 days now. Cheers!
Problem prevails!
The problem still exists! Deleting a registry entry at:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Today\Items\iGO8
Flags[DWORD]=1
Solves the problem for a while. However, the entry is recreated and the flag is set to 0. After a while it is set to 1 and Panel Manager crashes! This is seriously driving me crazy!
not similar to yours but i also have the same problem my panels are just not coming into play when i press the panel button on my x1i the screen goes blank for a while then the previous screen appears the panel manager doesn't even shows up...help me out....
Problem disappeared!
Months later, I flashed the phone, reinstalled everything! Panel Manager is yet to fail!
Hi,after I search through the forum,I realised that there are no thread here is regarding the problem I have discovered and experience. So,i hope people here can help me test it out.
the device I using is HTC mozart
1)unable to play/pause the music on lockscreen, but able to skip song or jump back to the previous one.
-to test it,plug in your headphone to the device and play any song you want, then off the screen. Now,try to adjust the volume(up or down),then press the power button to wake the screen. After that, try to pause the song from the drop down menu.
-another situation, just try to start any music from the drop down menu.Adjsut the volume on the lockscreen and then hit PLAY button.see whether it is working.
2)Marketplace won't check for updates until i connect my device to the pc and open zune software.
-I have totally no idea why this could happen.I left my phone connected to WIFI and opening the marketplace for about 10minutes,no update has found. However, when I connected to the PC and Zune software. The live tile has indicates that I have 9 updates available.
3)after you deleted a contact from people hub,it'll jump to the very bottom of the list.
Thanks hope people here can test it out and maybe provide the solutions.
