How do i trick the internet nto thinking my hermes is a normal crappy phone?

Basically im going to the carling reading festival on thursday, nd nokia offer a wap sevice which gives you all the stage info, timetables maps and such via a link they send to you. When i first signed up, i put my phone as other, and it wasnt recognised. Then i signed up as another user (as the site didnt seem to have an option to change your details) and i put my phone as K800i which is my other phone. The thing is, they sent the link ok, but when i click on it in either opera or IE it says your phone isnt compatible. Which is id say outrageous, as its wap and i ahve proper internet..
So i was wondering if there is a hack or reg tweak or program which will tirck the site into thinking im on a phone thats supported.
And by the way i ahve tried changing my opera settings to handheld device, btu it seems tht meand windows device rather then phone lo

find out the user agent string u want to emulate and change it to that via the registry

im kindof a noob

the thing is..
cant you just tell me what to change, or how to get the user agent string i need (which is from any ucrrent nokia or sony ericsson as they are the supported phones) and how to change tht in the registry.

i have got the user agent string for the N80 (which is a supported phone)

Now what do i do? change a registry key?

I did that on mine and there are still a few sites that pick up that it's a mobile phone and show me their mobile version of their website, specifically myspace. I hate the mobile version.
I remember seeing a post once where there were registry settings you can change to make the browser emulate a desktop, but I can't seem to find it in the search function for the forums.
Anyone else remember or know how?

It would be nice if someone could tweak this to have more than three tabs and cab it back up...

to make it more than 3 tabs all you need is just go to opera:config ; there is an option in there to increase tabs if i remember correctly

Right, I know, but I've seen plenty of tweaked Opera cabs as well as copies included in roms like ROMeOS that have minor tweaks like that already done. I was just curious if anyone here knew how to modify and repackage something like that for redistribution purposes.

to answer myself... youtube flash video is working (embedded in the page) !!! but flash on other pages not (e.g. youporn (just for testing purposes ;-) ) ) the web pages sais sth. like "flash player necessary to display the video... don't know why, as in youtube it's working...

I need flash for opera, please

on the toch hd i've got the problem with that version that after softreset opera starts automatically... i couldn't find any autostard or registry entry on that...
anybody else got that problem, and maybe a solution?

edit: in addition, it seems like it's impossible to uninstall... it's not listed in the "installed programs" list...

According to Conflipper himself (over here):
Fixed the Resoultion Issues.
Changed the following
Max tabs to 10
Homepage google (loads up correct from opera in programs, having troulbes wiht manila lauch)
Not autolauching on me at this time
Turbo mode is enabled
Special effects is enabled
Automatic RAM cache
Streaming Player is default media viewer
enabled MMS support
Updated maximum server connections for faster performance

small problem on this end.after unstalling seems it also deleted some of my default opera files.now my default opera is not working again...lol is there anyway i can restore the origional? help please....i'm going insane using explorer i need opera back baby!

try the vga version for wvga. compared to the last version 331 i think, changes on this version are zoom is on the right side. smoother browsing & faster load now with max connections set to 6. problem however is the title bar tends to pop up when you scroll & the page is not fully loaded. alse works find. for flash support look for a jaggalo_X official flash lite cab file....should be able to get it on google

btw alpha fennec is out....have the file but am not brave eough to install it yet

Any suggestions? Is it possible someone can send me the origional opera files from there touch hd?

If I don't like the new opera, is there a possibilty to get the old one back?

few questions.. installing opera mini, and xt9

installed the kavana revamped with opera. Found the install opera icon in the extras folder.
I open it, it asks if I want to "Intsall Opera". I click ok, and nothing happens. So I tried going to the opera site and installing it from there. It worked great. Fast, and really an impressive program.
Problem is that once I closed it down it was nowhere to be found.
I had tweaked things around quite a bit, and changed some stuff up trying to get used to the kavana.
So i went ahead and did a "master reset". Figured I'd start fresh (on the second day" and ask for a little help.
I found a few threads concerning making opera the default browser, but none on the install.
oh yeah. on a side note. how do I turn off the xt9 predictive text? I hate it. I'm kinda old fashoned, I type everything out, periods, comma's, etc. lol wtf

Opera Mini will be under Java or Jbed? can't mem what in the ROM.
Turn off predictive in an input boix FN+Space choose ABC

What I did for Opera Mini was create a shortcut on my internet panels using chome configurator, so all I got to do is click on it from the panel to open java/jbed and I launch it from there.

like the idea! much smoother than going all the way to the java/jbed! should be a little quicker too! now i just gotta play with the configurator and get a better feel for how it works.

Wow got online place the .dll in the Windows Directory, Place the shortcut in Windows Start Menu, soft-reset phone

I was Wondering... Is there anyway I can have opera mini as a shortcut in the start menu using WM6. If so, How?

Make a shortcut the post above may work but will depend on the Java Jbed? in ROM.

How to navigate to non-mobile sites?

Anyone have a way to get to the regular versions of sites? There is no links to get to the regular version of the sites I am talking about, and they always boot me to the crappy mobile version of the site.
Im using Opera Mini.
It may have to do with the WAP settings im thinking... but i am not sure if they can even be changed.
Anyone know of some kind of work around?

Must be a config on your Opera Mini in order to make all pages look in nomral way

The only setting in there I see is "Mobile View" and I have it turned off.
I am pretty sure it has to do with the site it self seeing you are connecting through a WAP and forwarding you to their mobile version of the site automatically. I could be wrong tho, I dont know too much about it.

Don´t think so, is more related to the browser I think
Have you tried to type in Opera
Opera:config
Because in there you can change a lot of parameters including the one to surf the sites as normal computer
If not working I´m sure my dear friend Stylez should have another solution

I use skyfire and I see sites how they are on the desktop. Maybe you should change your settings to Connects to the Internet?

Phoneblock and more Tabs Opera mobile

Hi there, I'm very happy with my HTC pro2! It's a very cool device. But there are a few little things I want to adjust. The first thing I'm not happy with is the digital phonepath when I want to text/sms. It's a bit small. Last week I've seen the digital phonepath on the HTC Touch HD and that's much more basic and therefor much more easier to handle when texting/ smsing (at first sight).
The second thing I regret is that opera mobile only has two tabs.. I borrowed a Samsung Omnia a few weeks ago and on that device I could use three of more tabs.
Does anybody know how to chage / adjust this thing on the Pro2?
Oh, I've got a Dutch version of the Rhodium.

To adjust tab count in Opera, in the Opera address bar type opera:config
Once in the configuration editor, scroll down to 'User Prefs', expand it, and look for 'Maximum Allowed Tabs'. Change the number as required. Reboot browser, or reboot phone if Opera's stuck in memory and you don't know how to kill it.

Thanks a lot!! But I tried and I tried, but when I change 'Maximum Allowed Tabs' in another number and saved it, it will not take effect. I rebooted the browser and also the device, but it won't work...
When I reboot the Browser and then check opera:config, it shows my adjustment in 'Maximum Allowed Tabs' (from 2 to 5 tabs), but it still doesn't work...
Anyone?
UPDATE: I did it! I changed the opera.ini file.

copy with pc from ppc \windows\opera\opera.ini to pc
change with any editor and copy back
max i found is 17
then cache runs out?!
