RCA video out instead of HDMI out

I saw another thread on this issue but its old so i'm not sure if its closed. Here is my issue.
I had the touch pro and bought the factory wire that was usb to RCA (red, white, yellow). I have the evo now and need a similar wire. Reason being is i have my car navigation modified to accept a video source, but its input is the yellow RCA, not HDMI. Does anyone know if they will make a cable similar to the touch pro or if there is some kind of dongle or converter piece that can be used.
Thanks
probably gotta buy a converter box that converts between digital(hdmi) and analog(RCA) signals.
I have not been able to find one as I would like to have this as well. *BUMP*
A cable can't simply convert the digital HDMI signal into an analog composite one. You need to buy a converter such as this one:
http://www.amazon.com/GefenTV-HDMI-to-Composite-Scaler/dp/B0013LTNF8
Converting HDMI to composite unfortunately takes more than a simple adapter. You can find a scaler/scan converter that will do it but they are not cheap.

edit: Oh snap! I was too slow
thanks for the quick replies...ya, if it requires a converter that expensive, probably not worth it...that sux...
I guess your intention is to feed a larger screen with the video from your Evo? Might be better to just get a small LCD panel that accepts HDMI in at that point.
ya, that was my original intention...ya, getting an LCD screen is def. the better option than paying for an expensive converter.

Any non hdmi cables out there ie. rca??

Hi everyone
Is there any cables out there that either fit directly into the phone or through the dock thar output to rca or similar, as most tv's on the road or b&bs don't have a hdmi port.
Seen a mini hdmi to rca cable, but is the port on the atrix/dock a mini hdmi or some moto hybrid port.
Any info sure would make trips on the road better than STD tv rubbish.
Thanks.
I purchased an hdmi to dvi+1 connector. maybe you can get a dvi to vga than to rca and so fourth. Just trying to help. I know its a little extra but hey.

wont work without a box to convert the digital to analogue, the reson dvi-vga works on pcs is because dvi can also carry an analogue signal, but that wont help in this case
HDMI is digital, RCA is analogue. You cannot feed a digital signal into something that's analogue. You need some sort of a converter box. Too expensive of a process in my opinion.
Its easier for digital gadgets to produce HDMI signals because the signal is decoded in the device that's receiving it. Analogue signals require an output with some strength to be able to make it to the receiving end----requires more power and hardware.

correct. you could go with a MicroHDMI to HDMI, connect an HDMI to DVI+ adapter, and a headphone jack to RCA or headphone jack to headphone jack for audio, as DVI+ does not carry audio like HDMI does.
There are small portable DAC converters. they cost about $100. i have 2 for different studio equipment, but i would never use it for something like this.

Thanks for the replies guys, so I am guessing this item wouldnt have done the job ??

What is the conector on the Atrix that outputs to hdmi ?
Thanks
I would settle for HDMI -> Fiber Optic Audio
I don't know if that is possible... cause the audio out on HDMI is only triggered most likely by video out. I have an HDMI to DVI converter, and it puts out video, but doesn't put out sound since DVI can't handle sound. The video pinout is the same. The sound plays through the phone. Which makes me think that audio only would not trigger HDMI.
Yeah, I understand what you're saying, they sell black box type of deals but would like a solution cheaper than the phone itself. Not supremely important, would just be nice.

Would love to just use hdmi but most tv in hotels/b&B's are just scart & rca. Is the output a mini hdmi or something else on the atrix, if it is I'll buy one just to try.

looking for a cable

I'm looking to go from the Xoom to my truck head unit. So HDMI mini to composite, do they make this cable and which HDMI mini is on the Xoom?
There is no such thing as this cable you ask. HDMI is digital, composite is analog. I assume this is a DVD player or something...long story short, it's not gonna happen. If you wanted to throw down a ton of money you could get a transcoder (possibly).
this could be something for you

The main purpose for the HDMI-COMPONENT is to allow you to connect equipment that has HDMI output (such as laptops, game consoles and Digital-SLR cameras) to televisions or other equipment (such as DVD recorders) that have component video and stereo audio inputs. Supports the following resolutions:
- HDMI Input resolutions:
[email protected], [email protected], [email protected]/60Hz, [email protected]/60Hz

Amazing new Raspberry Pi enclosure; check out piServer

Hello Everyone, We're introducing the piServer. piServer is a sleek enclosure for the Raspberry Pi equipped with an integrated power source, a powered USB hub, high-definition optical audio output, an internal hard drive, a case fan, and an intelligent power switch. The piServer harnesses the power of the Raspberry Pi, transforming it into a stand-alone appliance ready for almost any application.
The piServer has the appearance of a set-top-box that could rival any of today’s most popular consumer products. Inside the fit and finish of this enclosure is custom-engineered, digital circuitry that expounds upon the features of the Raspberry Pi. It nearly doubles the number of USB peripherals that can be connected to the Raspberry Pi and boosts the power supplied to each of these peripherals to the full USB 2.0 specification. Furthermore, the piServer equips the Raspberry Pi with a 1TB or 2TB internal hard drive. This enormous data storage can be used to store an entire movie and music collection or create a network file storage device. To complete your multimedia experience, the piServer enables the Raspberry Pi to output high definition digital audio through optical S/PDIF or HDMI. Finally, a PWM controlled fan, a heat sink, full access to the 40-pin GPIO header earn piServer the title of Ultimate Raspberry Pi Enclosure.
Please visit the NightShade Electronics campaign on Indiegogo to purchase a piServer or at the ns-electric website - they are ready to produce the piServer and have it to you in December 2016! (sorry I can't give links yet). Thanks for your time and your help to spread the word!

[REVIEW] Smart Stereo 'Hi Rio' Olympics theme edition HDMI cable

I received this item in exchange for a fair and unbiased review.
Upon receipt I unpackaged the cable. Pretty basic packaging, nothing fancy just a plastic baggy indicating what was in it.
The link below to a shared Google Photos folder has all the photos I took while unpackaging.
https://goo.gl/photos/ryfL9euY28BHwviF6
The cable is wrapped in a mesh shielding that prevents snagging and pinching of the cable. In my household the blue accents on the cable go nicely with everything my A/V setup in the livingroom.
The connectors are touted to be 24k gold plated – I am no jeweler so I can’t verify this, so lets see if it can handle 4K !
My previous HDMI cable was unable to be used at 4k resolutions, the best I could get was 1080p/1080i, so changing the resolution was the big test.
I used the cable to connect my HTPC (Home Theater PC) to my Vizio 4k TV – I had no problems getting full 4k resolution out of it! I watched some 4k videos off of YouTube, and then played some video off of the PC via KODI (aka XBMC) – WOW – what a big difference over the 1080p I was used to! Everything was so real looking it was like looking out of a window into another world! Seriously, it looked like those TVs you see as demos at your local big-box retail stores!
It’s available on Amazon – here’s the link! Current pricing at the time of me writing this is $10.99 – less than most of the cheap HDMI cables you find at your local stores, with all the benefits of the high-dollar cables!
