I'm looking for keyboard that makes it easier for me to type with no mistakes.
I've come to the Desire from the Dream, and it's taking me a while to adjust to virtual keyboard. The HTC Touch Input is ok, better than the standard Android, but still not as good/accurate as the iPhone.
Is it true that the Android keyboards cannot do proper multi-touch?
I'm currently downloading every keyboard I can find to try & find a better match for me, but would appreciate some suggestions.
I found smart keyboard pro to be the best do far. I also can from the g1 and using smart pro, I don't miss my old hard keyboard at all.
Smart keyboard also does predicted text in the search bar. Very good.
Hi
I am planning on getting an HTC Desire as soon as O2 get their finger out and release it.
But I have a question regarding the keyboards.
I do plan on trying Swype, however, I think I would only like to use Sywpe while the device is in Landscape mode. I would like to use the standard phone keypad (buttons 1-9) with T9 predictive text input?
Is this possible, or do you need to use the same in each orientation?
I gather there is a multi touch problem when changing keyboards, but it can be solved by a reboot?
Thanks
Stu
Pretty sure it's the same both ways - I don't use Swype as the Desire keyboard is good enough to be quick
It's the same in both ways but it's not like it's hard, or long to change the keyboard type.
Just my two cents: Had a HD2 which I felt it was necessary to install Swype on due to the keyboard being jumpy and prone to double-entry.
The desire's keyboard is ridiculously impressive. Haven't found myself wanting Swype as the correction and capacitive detection are fantastic.
Is this possible at all? I've been trying to find out how to do it but I get way too many results about other keyboards or other iterations of HTC's keyboard...
Anyway, I can't seem to figure out how to do it on my EVO, kind of indispensable since I switch a lot from English to Spanish mid-message (and vice versa)... Whenever I type anything in Spanish I end up inadvertently adding words to the dictionary, and the alternative would be to have no auto-correction which would suck.
So can anybody help an Android noobie out? I've been meaning to try Swype (which I'm told has a key for language switching) but I wanted to have the option of using either keyboard anyway.
Hi
If somebody has physical keyboard connected via Bluetooth to XOOM please check is it possible somehow to use 2 different languages on it. And how to switch between it.
Normally I use 2 virtual keyboard English and Russian one, but I'm thinking to buy Motorola Bluetooth keyboard to type letter and etc. I know that on Moto keyboard only English alphabet, but it's easy to make engraving on it to have 2 languages, so I need only to check is it working or not.
As I know original Moto keyboard somehow could have only English language (even when you set language strictly to russian. The on screen keyboard will show Russian keyboard, but when you will touch the physical keyboard it automatically just types the English letters). So is it possible to change somehow?
Which virtual keyboard you're using for Russian? I've tried SmartKeyboard Pro, but the layout is not that good...

I use standard virtual Honeycomb keyboard)) But know I prefer to use bluetooth keyboard
I figured out how to use native keyboard after posting
I believe the regular keyboard will work once we figure out how to set Locale to Russian as well. I know Russian is supported by Honeycomb, but by default only English and Spanish are the options. Anyone knows how to enable other locales?
Tablet keyboard
i use an on screen r virtual kwyboard on my zoom that i downloaded from the market. it is call "Tablet Keyboard" made by "Pretty Easy" ther isa free onethat i tested out and it was great. it has an option to use a full keyboard or it split the keyboad in half with one half on the left for the left tumb, and the other half on the right. it also works in connection with the build in keyboard onmy zoom. so there always the option in th lower right hand near the time where you can switch between the two keyboards if you like. you do have to check the boxx in keyboard setting to make it active. i think they even have a paid version for only ¢99.

I know such app, but I'm trying to find answer is it possible to connect Bluetooth keyboard to Motorola XOOM and use it with 2 languages. Like it's possible in virtual. Right know I got answer from Motorola support that their Bluetooth keyboard support only English language, also I got the same reply form one of the owner of such keyboard.
Now I'm trying to find solution to print on 2 languages English and Russia from any Bluetooth keyboard that could be connect to Motorola XOOM.

Try this:
Select Russian virtual keyboard as input and start typing on Bluetooth keyboard. I think it should type in Russian... But I don't have a keyboard to try it. Mine should be here in a few days, I'll give it a shot.

One owner of Moto keyboard and XOOM tired and told. Even if you have only one language Russian, the Moto Bluetooth keyboard still type on the English language(
But if you will get it, try to click SHIFT+CTRL or SHIFT+ALT (if you have such keys on the keyboard), may be it will recognize it. I read somewhere that Moto keyboard support hot command like CTRL+C or V to copy and past command. So may be it will change language of keyboard like a normal PC.
Thank you in advance.
It's, for sure, the best ROM for ARC S, but the lacking of this feature is really driving me crazy. I HATE the qwerty keyboard.
I've looked for an option to activate the T9 keyboard, but I didn't find it in AKOP 39. Does anybody knows how to do it?
Sorry for my English, I'm from Brazil. Thanks!
solved the problem partially by installing smart keyboard pro with portuguese dictionary. I'd say partially cause it's not good as the stock keyboard, but it's better than the f*cking qwert.
