First of all, what device you have?
What version of opera?
I had it installed and works perfect!

you'd better upgrade it to the latest version at opera.com
can you confirm that this version also crashes here?

9.62 here... and working fine for me

http://www.talkandroid.com/22912-how-to-install-the-android-2-3-gingerbread-keyboard-on-your-rooted-device/
Hi Just found this can anyone Brave enought confirm it works for our Hero
I am too nooby to even try it without some nice Dev telling us that its ok to flash it
EDIT 07/12/10
courtsey of macaronymax.. I tried the bottom link and flashed the zip file on my gsm hero with ele's rom and it installed fine.
Find It a bit laggy and the auto correct doesn't seem to work that well..I suggest a nand backup just incase
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=9640812&postcount=44
EDIT 08/12/10
courtesy Mdon 874 This Link seems to work better on my gsm hero with Ele's Rom
http://www.4shared.com/file/qvWU6Obi/Fabolous_GBKB_Fix-signed.html
EDIT 14/12/2010
Hi Guys Just a Note that Elelinux's Special Edition Rom with His Private THeme has the Gingerbread Keyboard Preinstalled which is nice of Him..
And you can Even alternate between the Gingerbread Keyboard and Htc Keyboard
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=767886
Tried it, but it says error while flashing :/
are you running a 2.2 rom or 2.1 cause it says it will only run on a 2.2 rom.
I do hope one of the devs can sort it out for us or include it in their roms
elelinus.. erasmux .. anyone?
Does not work on HTC Hero and HTC Wildfire.

yea I've discovered that this version (in post I quoted) works great! for anyone who says no dictionary is included with it, that's not true. in catch notes, gtalk, and certain other apps I see a dictionary/prediction row that works great.
cheers,
Don
Thanks marconymax! Works great, using it as i type!
So confirmed for latest Elelinux special Edition 2.2.1 .

Anyone have a download link for 9.6.12.0 China Stable?

I am on a newer version and want to try to go back to 9.6.6.0 global stable and I need 9.6.12.0 fastboot image to flash first before going backwards because of ARB..
Thanks!

As far as i know 9.6.12.0 has ARB and if you flash it you will brick your phone if you flash global 9.6.6.0 over it because 9.6.6.0 dosn't have ARB
Perfect, thank you guys!
Yes, I already am on an ARB rom, so in order to go backwards I have to follow the guide which has me putting on 9.6.12.0 first and then doing some special tricks so I don't trip ARB while going backwards.
Just trying different options to get a working phone here, nothing I have flashed yet has the 2 things I need working (Android Auto and Video Chat)
That Fastboot link on that pages keep timing out, I can never download it. Strange...

Use advanced download manager from the playstore (best download manager for Android) - it captures it without issue.

I'm doing it right from my computer on hard wired internet. I think it might be just an issue with the source.
I was able to pull down the Recovery version, so I think that should work as well.

I hate Chrome with a passion. Biggest resource hog to date. Unless, they've really updated it.

My machines have plenty of resources available and i'm also not the type of person that has 10+ tabs open at once. It has always worked well for me, until now
But yes, recent updates have addressed resource issues if that's a problem for you.

Haha, same here, brother. I've used Firefox forever without issues. If it's not broken, why fix it. I feel you. :highfive:
