@collins, thanks m8
no, it isnt, ESPECIALLY under ANY of the flavors of 6.1, it hangs your phone ALL THE DAMN TIME!! Stick with RC08 for the best compatability.
Here ya go... I have 08 as well...

So should I download rc08 for my Dash or rc09.
I'm gonna go with rc08 first cause then I can just upgrade.
RC09 works fine for me...i have it on smarttoolkit startmenu so the right softkey changes
I found that if you turn off global skinning it doesn't lock up any more. Hope this helps...

hey wheres this located at if you dont mind? Thanx in advance
I'd be curious to find this setting too...
I've had lock up issues with RC09, RC08, and still even on RC07.
Nothing like having to tear through my hard case, and remove the battery to end a phone call....
Not sure what version this one is, but under settings>general>options
there is a check box for global system skinning. I turn this off and its way more stable.
I am having a problem however with settings and sync under control panel not being mapped properly, it was the same in rc08. Anyone know how to remap them to the correct location?
In order to do that.... look for "settings.lnk" and "activesync.lnk" under /windows/start menu/ and copy them to /windows on your phone. Rename "activesync" to just "sync.lnk" and you'll be golden.

There 's also a regedit option to solve this as well. (but its six & one-half dozen in the other)
edit: If you're interested in doing the regedit ...do this:
Navigate to HKCU-->Software-->e-Natives-->SmartToolkit-->edit the key "cpanel_items"
the original will look like this: \windows\settings.lnk[]\windows\profiles.exe[]\windows\sync.lnk
you'd change it to this: \windows\start menu\settings.lnk[]\windows\profiles.exe[]\windows\start menu\ActiveSync.lnk[]
.........changes are in BOLD

I find non BS is faster when you LOAD it like what I do on mine, I find with most non BS is the same! IF you like your PDA loaded, go the non BS way as BS is good when you don't load your phone but once you loaded it goes slow.
PS: in other words, you have to download each one and try for yourself, as I have ALWAYS BEEN SAYING!

Yeah well when you load programs to your hermes, I find the BS ones are good to begin with but once you load it up with programs it gets quite slow, I have
HTC Home
Yahoo Go!
HTC Audio Manager
SPB Phone suite
SPB mobile shell
Palringo
HTC X button
Windows Live Mobile no IM
Push email with server 2003
Forgot to add Opera 9.5 beta ala josskosh
And when I loaded all that the BS version gets real loaded and just feels a lot slower after loading all that.

I also donno. But logically, when u gain some; u'll lose some.
Could also be because the memory of the pda is not used the same way. The area used by NBS is perhaps "easier to access" than when the full available memory is used. (boundaries management,...)

I think it doesnt matter if it is BS or not. if you load more programs, then it automatically slows everything down! we just need a better OS LOL
Hi all, just got my second dash, and wanna flash to wm6.1. Main reason, I want threaded SMS, that's really all I want out of it. I will mainly be using my phone as an mp3 player (with a2dp headphones), for texting, email, internet surfing, and gaming (pocketNester )
I was trying to follow the directions here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=415225 But the following link won't let me download the sim application unlocker, it keeps saying page not found
http://www.mediafire.com/?egm0z1vnbh0
Any ideas? My phone is a Rogers locked s621, not sure if that makes a difference.
Also, I know there are the main 4 6.1 Roms, I read what they offered, and they all seemed like they would work for me. One I saw had an app in it for overclocking, which may be nice to speed up my phone for pocketnester, but from what I can recall, this app can be installed to any ROM.
From the pics, the Rose rom by Ricky and Stylez seems the coolest looking, I guess because of the chrome theme. Anyways, any suggestions as to my rom choice are greatly appreciated, and a solution for the app unlocker. I would go with what ever rom was easiest, as this will be my first time doing this. Hope to be able to do this by tomorrow evenign, thanks a lot everyone

Take the battery out and restart the phone.
1 - Install SP_AllowcertificateInstall
2 - Install SDA_ApllicationUnlock
3 - Run Uspl.bat
4 - When the screen turned white you can install every rom you want
5 - Good luck
installed the kavana revamped with opera. Found the install opera icon in the extras folder.
I open it, it asks if I want to "Intsall Opera". I click ok, and nothing happens. So I tried going to the opera site and installing it from there. It worked great. Fast, and really an impressive program.
Problem is that once I closed it down it was nowhere to be found.
I had tweaked things around quite a bit, and changed some stuff up trying to get used to the kavana.
So i went ahead and did a "master reset". Figured I'd start fresh (on the second day" and ask for a little help.
I found a few threads concerning making opera the default browser, but none on the install.
oh yeah. on a side note. how do I turn off the xt9 predictive text? I hate it. I'm kinda old fashoned, I type everything out, periods, comma's, etc. lol wtf
Opera Mini will be under Java or Jbed? can't mem what in the ROM.
Turn off predictive in an input boix FN+Space choose ABC
What I did for Opera Mini was create a shortcut on my internet panels using chome configurator, so all I got to do is click on it from the panel to open java/jbed and I launch it from there.

Make a shortcut the post above may work but will depend on the Java Jbed? in ROM.
Hi,
I was wondering if there is a ROM out there that offers a tweak that allows the Zoom bar to be used to scroll thru lists like the old TP1. So it will save time with File explore and other apps. Thanks, and i am sorry if i posted this in the wrong place.
Also if there is anyother tweaks for the Zoom bar

The zip contains a reg file only, simply import it with any reg tool, the scrolling function works.

Which rom are you using... if the chef is using a smarttouch.dll from another phone ext like leo it will not work... if you open opera or IE it should allow you to zoom in using the phone zoom bar.. the registry containes allot of entries so it should support allot of different applications....
edit: may need a reboot to take effect.

im using fusion rom v5.1 and zoom already works on opera,
will it work on scrolling through contacts on beejive im ?
Ive just started using this tweak and its pretty nice, but im wondering if its possible to reverse the setting. I would rather sliding to the right mean scrolling upward (up dpad) than what it is now. Also take into account that when i expose the keyboard and attempt to to slide to scroll up, i actually have to slide down to scroll up!
can u guys can make 2 work with iris browser that would by nice
Am I missing something, I installed the cab and restarted the phone. Nothing. Soft reset, still nothing. Do I then have to enable something? Using a TP2 on Verizon. Is this GSM only?
Thanks
Really the only app I'd need for this is MICROSOFT READER so I can slide right to turn a page and slide left to go back.
I see the reg hacks, but am unsure what to use for ClassName for Reader..
can you help?
Thanks,
Rick
works great
on my tmobile tp2 flashed to 6.5 European rom...
Works somewhat on stock sprint rom only a few apps actually work but hey I like thanks
Any chance it works on Topaz?
