Vogue (VZW) Radios??? - Touch CDMA Windows Mobile ROM Development

Ok, I have looked for an hour. Where are the radios for Verizon's XV6900?

4G Development / Roaming...

I live in Augusta, GA which Sprint currently does not have any 4G towers in the
area. The two closest are in Milledgeville, GA (over an hour away) and Atlanta, GA
(over two hours away).

*techknowfile's* - Hack the HTC EVO - 3G w/o Sprint EVDO coverage!
To my understanding the above mentioned thread forces the Evo to roam onto a
Verizon 3G tower...what i'm wondering is there possibility in development of them
doing this for roaming to a Verizon 4G tower. Is this something that is being pursued?
Highly impossible?
I love my Evo and consider to be a real POWER USER when it comes to all the
features but not having 4G sucks, especially when it's in a town half the size of
mine in the same state.
I've tried searching for threads about this topic and haven't really turned up.
Verizon is using LTE not wimax so no, it is not possible two different technologies.

So in other words someone would have to make a ROM/kernel that supported LTE
and not WiMax in order for me to do this...i.e. NOT PROBABLE.
Not to sure on this but I think it would be a Hardware difference not just software.
unless another carrier starts using the same type of wimax as sprint (that would not be a good decision) or sprint changes to lte or another technology (pleeeease?) it wont happen. hardware.

[Q] Sprint to switch to LTE

I read an article on engadget that said it was a possibility that sprint would be switching to LTE because of Clears(Clearwires) financial problems. Anyone have anymore info on this ?? Will our EVOs work on LTE? IS there a special radio required for that or just software?
There is a thread on this in the general section. And I would say no, as it would be GSM and requires a simcard, and the Evo radio can't access it. But it won't happen immediately.
LTE is not even related to GSM.
I have been reading different theories. One is that our current 4g antenna can handle LTE with an update, but I am not sure I buy that one.
Well I never claimed to have all the answer. But as to your second point, I don't buy it either doubt the evo would be able to support it.
Verizon uses LTE on cdma (same as Sprint). As for LTE being compatible I've heard rumors an update to the radio is all that's needed.
I assume if its not they will keep us wimaxers on clear and in 2 years or so we will all be upgraded anyway (new phones)

ok to clear this up since everyone seems to be misunderstanding everything with this.
The WiMax radio and the LTE radio are very different. As far as I am aware, LTE requires a sim card. WiMax does not. The Towers that sprint has put up for WiMax can apparently be converted to LTE towers by changing one piece of hardware and issuing a software upgrade.
Your Evo will not be able to access LTE. It does not have an LTE card in it, it has a WiMax chip.
in the real world, LTE is the faster network than WiMax is. The downside is they can control what you do or don't do. What websites you go to, etc.
in my experience I have seen LTE do 15-20 down and 2 up on a broadband card. Wimax I have never seen past 10 (due to sprint limiting this anyway) and it is usually around 4-5 on average.

ACTUALLY, wimax end of life is suposed to be able to hit 140 mb/s and LTE end of life is only looking at 100 MAX... so in the long term wimax is much faster, most people have said that it's mearly the way clear rolled it out that makes it so unreliable and slow.

[Q] Best radio to use with Galaxy Nexus on T-Mobile USA

So the official GSM version of the Galaxy Nexus (http://code.google.com/android/nexus/images.html)
is supposed to have xxkk6 radio (radio-maguro-i9250xxkk6.img)
I read in another place that the Asian varian has a different radio, and the canadian varians also have different radios. So being that the GSM Galaxy Nexus is not officially in the US on ATT or T-Mobile I was wondering wich radio is best to use on the T-Mobile network?
North American code is UG, I think UGKL01 is the newest released radio.

I am using ugkk7. Look in dev section to see if there are any updates.
Sent from my Nexus in Texas.
I'm using XXKK6 - it's been working fairly well for me. Probably gonna try out one of the UG roms.
i'm currently on UGKL1, live in denver colorado (where t-mobile has 4G coverage) and i dont get any type of HSPA+ speeds, on a good day my down is only 5891kbps and my up is a mere 1243kbps (same speeds as my Nexus S).
maybe US radios are optimized for CDMA networks, i'll switch to XXKK1 later and see if it helps - anyone actually get 4G speeds yet? if so, which radio are you on?
Probably best to use a UG based radio if you're in NA. I'm on UGKL1 and it's fine. I accidentally flashed an XX radio before and data would cut out a lot...
i updated to stock 4.0.2 for tmo and i'm getting 10mps down and 2 up around my area of the woods.
kk6 radio band.

I got 8.99Mbs down and 3.69Mbs up, in the Tech Center this morning. I usually get around 3-5Mbs down Downtown. I'm on the stock 4.0.2 XXKK6 radio.

I get about the same down in Parker with the same stock radio on 4.0.2. I have not tried any other radios yet, but my wife's HTC Amaze is twice as fast as expected.

XXKK6 was the best for me in Chicago and now in Dayton, OH

If your tower doesn't have any more capacity available, it doesnt matter what *you* do. There's only 21mbps (or 42, depending on where you live) per tower sector to go around to every user in your sector. If it's 21mbps, all you need is 3 other active people on your tower to get those speeds (factor in radio link loss too).
Long story short, not a single thing you can do to control your speeds. And judging a radio's "ability" based upon speed test results is extremely inaccurate.
And the nexus only reaches 21mbps on T-Mobile anyways so there's that. The north American radios are optimized for Canada.

So my area JUST got 4G on a partnered carrier that TMOUS shares. Im getting 4g on my Sensation but am thinking about getting the GSM Galaxy Nexus. We went from Edge to 4G. All i want to know is if i will be able to get 4g on the Galaxy Nexus for TMOUS?

If you get it on the Sensation theres no reason why you wouldn't get it on the Nexus.
I was using the KK6 radio that came with my phone (assuming it was a UK one since it had a UK style plug in the box) but within 2 days of getting the phone I had dropped signal errors where only a reboot would fix it. I moved to UGKK7 and haven't had any issues since. Pretty sure my speed is slower though (haven't testing yet) so if you have no issues with KK6 keep it.
i've been on KK6 for about two weeks now, speeds never go above 5.5down - i guess i dont have very good HSPA+ coverage north of denver. i also have to turn on and off airplane mode once a day to fix connection issues.
I'm using XXKL1. I get speeds near 5-7 Mbps. Sometimes 9-10 if I get lucky.

I'm also in Chicago on the xxkk6 radio and I never seem to be able to get above 3-5mb down and .5-1mb up. I've also noticed that it shows "3g" as the connection status most of the time, save for when it momentarily shows an H at times.
Anyone have a clear answer on what is displayed when you attain an HSPA+ connection w/ this phone? I find it weird that with the dense 4G coverage in Chicago, I can't seem to get any better speeds than what I get w/ my N1.
Cheers, dudes.

Those sound like pretty standard 4g speeds to me. On a good day I get 10mbs. It really depends on how many people are sharing your tower. People with Verizon LTE are reaping the benefits of new technology without many users.
As for the icon I believe the GSM radio switches to 3g when no data is being transferred and switches to H when active to save power.

Radio Problems

Is anyone else experiencing "issues" with the CDMA radio "overtaking" the LTE radio? It's as if the CDMA radio rules over the LTE radio and decides whether or not to use 4G or 3G.
I've had to toggle LTE multiple times after it went to 3G in order to get LTE back.
noticed this as well running 4.0.2 radios, at least you get it back after toggling mine drops it altogether... but I just got my nexus today so maybe I overlooked something
sent from my Galaxy Nexus via XDA app
I experience the same, 4G works great, until it drops to 3G. Then it seems to take forever to bump up to 4G again, but usually I have to toggle it off and then back on. A friend of mine can't get 4G to work at all, Verizon has told him it's a radio issue (odd though because they tried his sim in 3 different Galaxy Nexus devices). I'm going to try and upgrade him to the leaked 4.0.4 build this week to see if the new radios will help him, it's too nice of a phone to be stuck on 3G all the time.

Woeful ATT GSM download speeds

Hello all.
I am getting some woeful download speeds on my new unlocked GSM Nexus which I am using on ATT in San Diego. I was previously using a GS2 on ATT and getting on average 5-7 Mbps download which I was fine with and so I decided to go with a Nexus and try prepaid GSM service rather than be on a contract and upgrade to an ATT 4G LTE phone. However using my Nexus in the same areas as I used my GS2 I am only getting .5 - 2 Mbps download and it's noticeably slow when not on WiFi trying to use Tapatalk or other apps which use data.
I have tried flashing different radio's but no luck still the same woeful speeds. Any ideas??
So which prepaid service did you switch to? Important to know.
Likely either the area is just saturated, your radio isn't the best for your situation, or you have an APN or provisioning problem with the SIM.
No actually I haven't gone prepaid just yet, I am still on ATT and I've tried a couple of different radio's but all seem about the same.

If you're still on AT&T postpaid, its quite likely an APN or provisioning problem then.
