Just curious if any of the xda brains are still working on these for our phones. I have done little looking around myself and these are the best i have found. Im guessing they have to be better then the old vincent drivers because i got them to load on my vogue and tested tf3d and unlike the vincent drivers these will actually display the entire backround as black instead of the half black half white that we had with the vincent drivers. These are still quite a ways away from being perfect but its obviously a step in the right direction. If you want to test it yourself just copy to windows and run glbenchmark.
For some reson it wont let me upload the files directly so here is a external link. Just copy dll to windows and copy glbenchmark to device.
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=DSXUMM2S
I have gone through many hard resets trying different libgles.dll an this by far is the best one here is my benchmark score

and just incase the link dosent work here are the results

Yep, TF3D is still no good though even with this little notch.
yeah i ws hoping some of the smarter devs could use this driver to help them but it seems like no one really cares which is a little suprising to me.
I got the images working for tf3d....but i cant release the .dll because the person who gave it to me to work on said no....im sorry but it is possible on the vogue

So, soon (or eventually), we could have TF3D running on our Vogues?
So will this person ever release it? it just seems weird to me that he would want to keep it to himself. How can dev go any further if he dosent release it? also curious if you could post any kind of video proof that the images are infact working on a touch. I personally am coming to a deadend with all the different .dll possibilitys to make it run so any help from you would be great without giving too much away.
For anyone intrested i have also figured out that dwmapi.dll is also important for tf3d without it it will not launch.

Nothing but respect for your work bro, but I think we all know who that is that wont let you do that, NFSFan? It's cool everyone has their own reasons but tf3d would be really sweet on the vogue.

i agreee bro i wish i had a clue because it would be all over and i don't mean 2 disrespect anybody directly but dude need tam pull up their skirts and stop acting like bi*ches soory had to say wut i was feelin
Hopefully nfsfan can post in here to confirm all the rumors i will be looking forward to a response.
lol...to tell the truth nfsfan asked me for the .dll, so no it's not him....good guess though
But the person doesn't want to release it because he has done alot of work to port it and get it sorta working....there's still alot to be done, but until then...everyone better hope Verizon comes out with their Diamond soon
FYI everyone...the dll needed to get the images to come up is the libgles_cm.dll
Doubt WDM has it working, and if hes keeping everything to himself, well did I say do the same thing when I provided you with nearly 4-5 OEMs which you now use in your ROM? I don't think so... You asked me for them, and I gave them to you...
Maybe you could post a video on youtube, or just take a screenie and show us that it works. Just stating it works is not going to prove anything.

He said that he wants to remain anonymous, sounds like a lot of people I know
c'mon - this is childish!
Who cares who this person is - the question we want to know is, do we have someone that has a possibility of getting this to work?
If he has made some progress, why not share it and let the dev's make it better.
Post a video or something that gives us hope.

I think it is quite obvious by now that WDM is lying. His excuse is that he threw the file away...psh. No one throws a file that important away. Anyhow doesn't matter.
The file didn't work nfsfan, thats the point im making it did just as much as verizon's .dll does, which I know you know about.....that's all the guy' did, he still has not responded to me yet but hopefully he will tomorrow I know the last time i talked to him he was busy with work but maybe he will get a chance to talk to me again
I am just wondering where exactly to place this libgl file

I'm getting bored of all those roms which passes trough the TD forum. They all look the same, have the same and are the same. Why is this? Is it not possible to help each other for working on a great rom with very nice features?
This is not to disrespect people for making a rom...i am very proud of those people, but in the last 4 months the roms are all the same. Ok, this rom has a newer dll then that rom, but the part what is really interesting (video support for instance) are never been touched.
I didnt searched for a new roms for 2 months, but after coming back on this forum everything is still the same...
Hopefully the Android part will fire up this community.

But i understand your opinion.

I am getting bored too but bored about all the cooked ROM got problem which hang... And after many ROM, back to original ROM 6.0 version 17xxx (so old) where it's 20755.
I hope i know how to cook later....
Strange, never had any problems with any rom, cooked or not. Maybe an hardware issue?
i am looking for the rom of the roms too,
but i cant find it.
why? the roms have to legal, no cracked software or no legal software from user xyz (because that not legal too, if i used the legal software from xyz).
if you want the rom of the roms than do it like me: learning cooking and using your own legal software. all the kitchens are to strong for me. there is no klick-next-kitchen for people like me. so i used and learned all days a little bit more and more (i worked with pc's since 1985 and now i was a admin of a cc with 700 users) ... and its not easy for me to understand some threads where cooking-users writes " .. and now you can cooking ..."
hmm ... really, i can? four pda's and three years later, i can see a little structure and iam glad to say, i used my own rom with my personal needed software and tweaks.
so, say what is your wishes to your rom? what do you want in your pda?
okokur
yeah, i used to flash every new release, but it has been over a month with the same rom. nothing really new lately. but new builds and blackstone features will be available soon. 1.99 or 2.0 roms should be not far off. hopefully
yea im with Blazeitup, haven't flashed for a while, im kinda waiting for something amazing (namely Android )
I agree with you all look the same i dont realy see a differents.
Maybe can we make a website so we can see what rom has what future's
How can you expect anyone to come up with "something amazing", when you haven't given a clue as to what you want? It's a phone, not a magic wand. If you have a need that has not been fulfilled, perhaps you should explain it instead of waiting for someone to provide you with a digital orgasm?

Since I made the point, I suppose I should give my list of priorities.
#1 - UC compliant. The differences between these ROMS are small, and without features to make it easier to setup the unit, its more trouble than its worth. UC seems perfect for this, yet is little used on the Diamond.
#2 Stability. It's Windows. Surely better stability is the key improvement. Tweak away.
#3 Speed. Who cares how fast applications run? You arent crunching numbers on a phone. The UI, on the other hand, you would like to be velvety smooth and easy to use. Tweak away.
#4 UI and finger use improvements. Again, it's Windows. The more help the better.
#5 Put the latest WM kernals and such in. They added them for SOME reason, didn't they?
#6 Dont remove useful apps. Maybe YOU don't use RSS hub, but I do. Sure, take out clearly useless things like Video tours, sample files, and Windows Update that isnt implemented. But not *apps*. OK, maybe Opera, since a newer one is probably coming every three days. And I'd even vote for removing Cyberon VC, because MS Voice Command works much better for me. But please dont strip out Adobe, RSS, blah blah.
#7 Add just a few universal apps. Maybe YOU love Unisofts' WM photo blog pud pulling editor, but is it really a universal ROM item? OK, add Total Commander, and a decent registry editor. And maybe one or two of the good tweaking programs. But take it easy, OK? We can add what we need.
And after this, it will still be very close to the same ROM your phone came with. But what did you expect, a silk purse from a sow's ear? It is still WM, after all. But it's a little better, easier to retweak if you need to again, smooth UI, and no fatal flaws. That's all we really need. Umm, unless someone wants to rewrite ActiveSync? Buehler? Anyone?
My two cents. Thanks a million to all you cookers!
And while I'm here, can someone figure out how to list more than one G*damn appointment on the TF3D screen? This is a business tool. Really, I don't need a 48 point clock!

F*g up the thread? Are you kidding me?
You said nothing useful, and I tried to make it relevent.
hi
children please stop swearing
from my point of that it will be fantastic create xda dev rom only one with best solution for everything for example
1 group software
2 group drivers
3 system files
4 tweaks
5 graphic
....................
get best people from forum to be in charge of each group and come out with something better then htc teach htc how to do best rom i know everyone like different roms but each rom have same drivers same system files and almost same graphic just software are different which you can install your self I'm little drank so if I f...ck about I'm sorry
I agree with DrewVS Post #11 this thread
I currently have a cdma (telus) Diamond and am running juicy's 2.5 rom it is bare and stable I add what progs i need. That being said I am trying to find a good tutorial to teach me the basics of cooking for my phone so I can do a rom that has EXACTLY what I want in it. The main problem that I have encountered is that finding any tuts that are remotly understandable for n00bs (to cooking) like me are almost non-existant. I think that a basic rom that tweaks your gps and helps with battery life and removes all propietary bloatware are really all that is needed by any1 and if you can't load a theme or your own proggies then perhaps a PPC is not really for you. I am not trying to start a argument but is there any real need to swear at peeps just because you have a differance of opinion?
Unrealpun
I saw this quote over at ppcgeek and find it very apt to this thread:
"The main diffrences between a smart person and a wise person
-a smart person knows what to say
-a wise person knows whether or not to say it"

He has a perfectly relevant point.
Not to mention, his point is pretty politically correct. But I too am with Drew.
I have been using Dutty's rom however udK just released a beta ROM with lots of Blackstone and Raphael features.
Maybe this is up your alley that you are looking for? Something a bit different from the norm - My usage so far has indicated that the ROM is great!
Very speedy with some nice new added bonuses!
The comment about Blackstone and Raphael features was intriguing. Can you elaborate? I didn't see much explaining that.

this is why i love lite roms with NOTHING built in...
so you get to customize it all by yourself...
until now what i see is people who remove bloatware and add in their own bloatware... so there are tons of roms with really unnecessary applications removed but tons more added on... together with really ugly start up screens that feature somebody else's name, on your phone!
that was until i came across christonge's thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=411561
he's made the perfect rom, all you needa do is customize it to your own liking...
so if you've gotten his rom and you don't like it, you've only got yourself to blame...
perfect sample
This tred shows perfectly that there is no ideal ROM. Other people want other thing in rom, some add feature, some light rom, some pure original but tweak... etc..
So this anwer your Q why there is ..
My brother just purchased an Incite on AT&T and is very disappointed with the speed of the device. I am coming from the Kaiser community and know how to speed it up provided I have the right tools. Does anyone know of a kitchen that exists for this phone or at least how to cook a ROM for it?

I'd be very interested in a rom dump. If you're doing so, please PM me. We're currently researching the capabilities of the vga drivers from the Incite, which we may use for HTC devices like Diamond and HD.

do you know anything about a kitchen?
thanks
As I told you in my pm a few weeks ago, to make a kitchen out of it, we first need an official incite rom, else I don't see how we can manage to build and flash anything without knowing the adresses in memory.
Another thing is that to flash anything with lgmdp, you'll also need drivers specific to you phone (we had to wait a few monthes before getting those for ks20).
Btw, I never received a reply to my dump request a month ago...
I just recently acquired an Incite myself & tried installing sztupy's Manila2D cab for the Samsung Omnia (also 240x400) &, for the most part, it works! I didn't thoroughly test it out though.
What I do know didn't work was the browser button on the interet tab (the big globe) & the connections button on the settings tab.
You can get the cab here: http://winmo.sztupy.hu/m2daio.html
Count me in as interested in an LG Incite ROM dump.
well, my brother went to pick up his LG Incite today, and they had to issue a recall on every LG Incite due to some texting issue. HOPEFULLY it is a software issue, because then we might see a ROM update to fix it
I'll post the dump as soon as I get it though, thanks for the support people
Well, if he just picked up his Incite it should already have the texting fix. Just check the box and under the battery for a blue dot. If it's there he has a fixed version already.
Also, I have done a rom dump and just need to know who to send it to.

Would you, or anyone having an LG Incite, mind running a Spb Benchmark. Its a free utility.
Run only the 3 graphical BitBlt tests please. But if possible, also with the screen rotated to landscape.
Based on measurements on the Touch HD with 800x480; 640x480; 480x480, I would expect the 400x240 LG to give a 2ms; 8ms; Xms for portrait and 12ms; 48ms; Xms for landscape. (The GAPI shows to be non linear and not predictable)
If you score significantly lower the LG drivers may be better, and it may be useful to port some drivers to HD, if you score significantly higher, the HD drivers may be better. If the difference is minimal, then it may all be irrelevant.
I'm using the LG Incite but cannot use MP3 file to set as a ringtone.
I put mp3 file in to
My Device/window/ring
My device/my document/my ringtone
even i put it to
storage card in root
it didn't work in Incomming Call
But I put in to

I worked for sms alert.

I found the answer now...
it needs to be less than 300kb in size. Reduce the channels to Mono and chop the audio file down to about 25 seconds or so and you will have one less than 300kb that plays well on the single speaker and until your voicemail kicks in.

2 terran campain maps
2 terran campain maps
removed protoss from campain menu (for now)
various bugfixes and increased stability
Instalation guide
1.unpack and copy coresponding ppc version (VGA OR WVGA) to your Storage Card root
2.unpack and copy pc version to your C:
3.insert original starcraft CD into drive
4.run starinstall.exe from desktop version (if it gives you errors your cd is not usable with it / works only with eng version)
5.copy fom pc verion to storage card
\data\graphics
\data\maps
\data\sounds(490Mb) or copy sounds from this post 97mb
6.run the ppc version of the game / for the nosound version you can delete the sound folder
THIS GAME DOES NOT WORK ON QVGA DEVICES / DO NOT TRY IT
INCLUDED ORIGINAL CONVERTOR IN PC VERSION
IF YOU WANT TO PLAY THE GAME YOU NEED ORIGINAL STARCRAFT CD (NOT BRODWAR)
Good luck with it mate! Would love to see this happen.

They had little luck getting as far as you probably did... maybe they have some info that may be usefull to you...
Just out of curiosity, after its done will you consider vga/qvga resolutions too?
Keep up the great work and if you need any help on icons, graphics or something let me know.

vga and wvga is possible
qvga is not acceptable because you can not see what is happening on screen
desktop variant even loads the map
for the ppc texture is too big and i will need to reduce the texture to something smaller and with less tiles
i will need to redesigh all maps after this
so i will need your help but first we need to load an reduce map on the ppc
i have also on xperia forum in my kitchen the link for warcraft II and transport tycoon
please try them
br
hy all
alpha 2 is up
pc version works and load maps you can even play
for ppc we need to redesign the tile map so it will take time
i will do an test map to see if it loads it
br
I have a nike, so I wont be able to test anything, but give me the instructions of what files you need croped/resized/slashed and I'll send them to you or post them here.

hmm...hehehe... Im not a programmer, only play around in flash because its very simple to use.
I was offering more on the edition of images department, sorry... :/
well everything is in LUA scripts the menus the interface ...
i will have to play a lot to make it work on qvga, BTW it starts on QVGA device but as you know the resolution is a lil high for it
Wooohooo, and there's the next great Desktop game coming to us!
BTW: I can test it on my Diamond for VGA users if you wish!
i think there is easyer way to do it for VGA - this is WVGA and all the graphics have their sizes fixed ....
i will have to find my starcraft cds ... to start experiment on this
OMG if you guys can get this working on VGA as good as warcraft2 runs and as bug free I (and im sure many others) will donate!!!!!!!!!! HUGE starcraft fan here =)
WOOHOO....HUGE Starcraft fan here too. I can't wait for Starcraft II to be released. I have both original CD's of Starcraft I and Brood Wars. I still play this today. I have many more missions (maps) from users on the internet. Some are awesome.
I swear I will buy a WVGA device just to be able to play this game!!! I will certainly use my wife's Xperia to test it once it's going.
bump.. no helpers? =)
Why dont you try to run it on VGA, it will start, but some of the things may be cutted from the both sides

I was a fan myself, and I guess I still am, so I would like to help, let me know what I can do.
my spare time is very limited but I'll try.
I cant program, so I can only help on the images...
Wouldn't it be easier to get a working VGA game, since StarCraft runs in VGA natively? And if you want to make it WVGA, you would stretch the aspect ratio of the game?
Normally I prefer to have correct aspect before full-screen, but perhaps it's different on such a small screen.
Anyway, StarCraft would be the NUMBER ONE GAME I'd like to have on PPC, bar none. And, I do have a Diamond - so I'm quite biased towards the VGA version...
Amazing! Can't wait to see it, I really hope you bring it to VGA. If you need someone to help test it on a VGA device, my Touch Pro is at your disposal.

i fully agree. There has been talk of this a long time, looks like we are finally getting somewhere. Keep up the good work, I am sure many would be willing to donate, I know I would.
As everyone knows no modification made for manila 2.1 works on 2.5
No graphics and no clocks
The hitch was that we didnt know how to name the files. Here is how-!
READ the post and see the video
I can proudly announce that i realised the naming algorithm is like this after doing a little research
IF ANYONE HAS ALREADY DONE THIS BEFORE..I DIDNT FIND IT FOR SURE
it is as simple as this
Manila naming algorithm/
Anything in home.mode9 file shuld be started with a .\home\whatever it was in m9editor
example
.\Assets\Images\Home\VGA\TabSinglesandNotificationIcons.qtc
to
.\home\Assets\Images\Home\VGA\TabSinglesandNotificationIcons.qtc
anyhting in internet shuld have
.\internet
anything in a mode9 file shuld have the name before it.
so on so forth
VIDEO TUTORIAL TO FOLLOWON HOW TO FIND THE NAMES EXACTLY AND FEEL GOOD ABOUT THINGS..

simple.efficient..spent a life time understanding
skinners,modifiers..its your ball game now
hey mate,
could u explain a bit more?...i mean, when i included new pictures in my mod, it was no problem to get it done.
i think this find is just for "cosmetic" purposes isnt it?..or is it needed for other things than qtc's?
hmm..i do think we should write a bigger tut on how things are going on there..now its like only a few pieces which make it pretty difficult to even start..i dunno how it is in the diamond or touch hd forums though?

this is for manila 2.5 LEO..the new manila.the manila u were using is manila 2.1
the file names are different in LEO and couldnt be found till today.
this gives the file names.
so... does that mean that you will be able to do some kind of "panosidetoside for 2.5"? ;-)

yeah i put the up!
great!
cant' wait for landscape support in 2.5 so I can flash on my phone and start working on it
thank you
yeah the landscape doesnt work cause of a unknown reason
what does that mean
gota get to the bottom of this
Just off the topic for a while, was the voice in the video yours? Or did u use software
i found the voice somewhere on the internet!!not mine!
Anyone that thinks I may be right should "thank" me for this post...
I see 2 problems keeping development down on this device (Raphael)...
1. Memory mapping has to be done. I see no progress in this area. If I had the proper GUI or even DOS program I might be able to help. Of course, lack of development could be related to...
2. Noone really wants to pay to unlock their phone for development reasons. I can understand hard work, but MTTY and Task2a aren't really all that hard to use.
Thoughts, ideas, complaints?
Are you talking about flashing to NAND?
A few RHOD devs have started it, and it seems BLAC has picked up a new kernel dev and they have it booting to about he same state as all GSM RHOD's (no service..)
I would like to see NAND on all devices, but in reality a dev with each device needs to take up the cause... No dev with a RAPH has tried AFAIK. I would certainly love to facilitate any flow of knowledge necessary from the RHOD NAND project. I'm certainly not a developer on the project, but I do help with testing and I work closely with the devs (as closely as I can )
I am speaking of putting it on NAND. Seeing as we have squeezed an entire install plus data and apps onto a Kaiser, I'm fairly sure we could get a working build pretty quickly if someone could port the Kaisers kernel and change the memory map.
I propose this...
1st partition for kernel, no more than 5mb in size. The kernel we use on the Kaiser is only 3,092kb, so this would fit even if we had to add anything to the kernel such as accelerometer support and FM radio drivers.
2nd partition for /system files, just to keep it relatively close to the kernel partition. This one could be set to 128mb to allow the larger builds room to "breathe". Also, the extra drivers needed for the extra hardware will need room, hence partition size increase.
3rd partition will need 32mb for /cache. One of the drawbacks to running Android on the Kaiser was that if anything failed and the phone crashed, you would lose data. This was mostly due to having a live cache partition built inside the /data partition.
Scooter1556 has found a way to make a 20mb partition using part of the /data partition. Yes we lose 20mb out of 110, but the gains in stability and data integrity are well worth it, and newer builds of Android require a 30mb cache partition.
4th partition for /data. Do the math; could you fill 347mb of data on your WM6.1-6.5 phone? Not music, not movies, actual data? Apps from the Market, your contacts, text messages (if you save them), and anything else related to data? I couldn't, but that might be from running a phone with 40-50mb available for data...
I might be pissing in the wind but I think it's quite possible to do, just don't see much demand for it.

If you're willing to do it, so be it. It's just not easy and there aren't many devs with the device - I think everyone (well, mostly everyone) would prefer to be rid of WinMo and just boot Android... but that's a big task, converting from HaRET...
After doing some much needed research, I found out something..
The HTC Dream/G1 uses the EXACT same processor, GPU, LPDDR RAM, phone controller, BT, WiFi and GPS module as the Raphael.
Whats missing, you ask?
A trackball and memory map to match. The Raphael actually has better specs than the G1 and I see cooks building roms based on 2.3.5 (Gingerbread) for that device.
There are a few extra keys on the keyboard which need mapping (swipe from HaRet version, maybe?), and the trackball would have to be converted to a D-pad. Everything else matches!
May not even need to build a kernel, the HTC Dream Dev edition has their ROMs' and radios online... I already downloaded them and will play more tomorrow.
(Crossing my fingers)...

Good luck. I'm not sure that stuff is identical & translatable directly, but have at it - just be careful, when playing with NAND there's very special portions of the memory that you should not touch, lest you have a brick.
Again, MTTY is not very hard to negotiate, and since the processor is similar to the Kaiser I should have no problems there.
I am looking into the "boot.bin" file right now to see where the signatures are and to see if there are "way points" for the memory mapping.
Will report back soon but I also need to grab the memory map from the WM6.1/6.5 build ROMS, so it could be an all-day affair...

Rome wasn't built in a day.
Good luck! I wish you well
Got the memory mapping done, just have to figure out how to post to the kernel and figure out how to CID unlock without PAYING for it...
Memory map as follows:
Code:
457.75M (0x1c9c0000) DSK1:
| 3.12M (0x31f000) Part00
| 4.50M (0x480000) Part01
| 126.50M (0x7e80000) Part02
| 323.63M (0x143a0000) Part03
I wish l1q1d and scoot were looking, this is about as far as I will get without help.

Does the G1 also have the same screen than the Raphael? That could help fixing the "never sleep" problem that arrrghhh said on this discussion.
Different screen but same exact GPU...
Dream G1 is 320x480 @ 16BPP 180.9 Dot pitch and uses Qualcomm Adreno 130.
Raphael is 480x640 @16BPP 290.3 Dot pitch and uses Qualcomm Adreno 130.
The "never sleep" issue is only a command, but that command also slows the core speed of the CPU down to save power as well since the GPU is also controlled by the CPU. The problem with not waking up is because Android has a wierd way of holding the panel command on or off.
P3 Droid (a clock speed mod) had a way to not only overclock but underclock the Droid. In an attempt to port this to the Kaiser it would fall back but never return to full speed, locking the phone up and requiring a soft reset. Once I restored my build back to normal it went back to a somewhat normal operation (back then we still had kernel issues and alot of other bugs).
What I need now is a full phone unlocker for thr Raphael that doesn't require an IMEI number... anyone have one?...

So for that (among many other) reason(s) you can't just plop a G1 kernel onto our devices and expect it to work. I would think that anything that can be borrowed, has been. I know they look at that device, the Hero, and I believe the Sapphire... Not sure what others, maybe Tattoo?
I don't think there's a single Android phone with these paltry RAM/CPU specs and such a high-resolution screen. I think that may be one of the reasons graphics are so poor, it has to work so much harder to render!

You mean more than just HSPL...?
Yes, more than HSPL... I need to CID unlock the phone because even with "unsigned" roms they can't flash. I'm guessing the phone is looking for that CID, and if it either isn't there or doesn't match it will not flash.
I tried using HTC's diagnostics SD from the Artemis and Hermes, neither worked because the CID doesn't match, even after I stripped the CID identifier from the diagnostics tool.
Will dig in more tonight, 2 days on this so far and I'm burnt...lol.

Yea, always a good idea to take a break and hit it fresh another time.
As for the CID unlock, I'm not sure I can help you with that - first because I don't know how, and second if it's illegal.. don't ask on this site .
CID unlock is only a "security" lock from a manufacturer to keep people from flashing the wrong rom to their device, IE flashing a Diamond rom to the Raphael.
If I had it unlocked, I could try flashing the original Dream bootloader for 1.6 to the Raphael. If I brick it I can get it back through MTTY and OEMSPL.
BTW,
the screen resolution and DPI is set in the kernel BEFORE any boot even takes place. If someone had enough "cahones" to mess with it in HEX editor they could find the values and change them to 480x640 16BPP 290DPI.

Heh. All you dude, you seem to have all sorts of cahones .
Keep it up, RAPH users need hope like this .
Sorry guys and gals, been way too busy in MTTY trying to unbrick my secondary Kaiser... Almost done though. Will also be able to CID unlock the Raphael with this as well.
What I need is to see how much interest there would be in developing a custom-compiled OEMSBL for the Raphael, possibly crossing over to other phones.
I would want to use either the LK Pistachio or, for obvious reasons, the newer OLK4 v3.0 MicroKernel, to be used to run the Dream/Magic bootloaders and at least Android 1.6, or even "cupcake" for that matter.
There is enough development in the Dream G1 forum to run with after that.
WHO WANTS IN?
There is enough documentation on the MSM7201A and MK to do this, I just don't have the compiling skills in Linux to do it. Matter of factly, there's not too much difference between the MSM7201A and the 7200A, being they are the same family but different build processes (65nm vs 90nm, i believe), AT commands are the same via what I've gleaned from their respective build sheets (I have both in .pdf format).
Hope I get some help because if I don't phones will be installed in teeth by the time I get done with it...lol.
I just realized something...
The memory map for the Kaiser is similar in the fact that OEMBL (microlinux) goes into PART 0, the kernel (nand install) goes into PART 1, /system can go into PART 2 and /data can go to PART 3 with a 30mb /cache partition at the beginning or end.
I need help porting this, changing the Kaiser kernel to read CNG_003 and remapping memory. The only other thing would be getting the proper drivers for the D-pad (non-touch, never liked that anyway), the screen size is a non-issue since whatever you feed it it will display, at least thats how it works on the Kaiser...

Nice! I like seeing posts like this .
Have you talked with any of the folks on #htc-linux or #xdandroid? There's usually someone there that's knowledgeable and can help. Not always, but usually .
Here's what I've figured out so far...
Since no "open-source" CID unlock tool exists for this phone, noone can unlock it's capabilities by using Android to it's full extent. I looked into decompiling a paid unlock tool but I don't have C++ installed on any of my machines just yet. When I do I'll go hunting again.
I would have to create a new rootfs or just use the tinboot with a partition layout similar to what I posted above. The motivation is there, I just lack the tools to do it correctly and efficiently.
