Hi everyone!
I have a problem with my T-Mobile MDA Compact III Navi (HTC P3300). When I'm going to write a new text message first I have to type in "To" field. When I do that, phone offers me matching contacts but on that list are contacts from the phone plus SIM contacts. I want only phone contacts. I tried using registry key and soft reset it after that (HKCU\ControlPanel\Phone\ShowSim: 1 => 0) but it not helped. To make things worse - first in my contacts list there were only phone contacts and after I changed that registry key now I have phone and SIM contacts. I return regkey value to old value, but SIM contacts persists there. Does anyone have a solution for this?
(It's running on WM 6.1, ROM ver Artemis Touch 4.02 WWE)

I would like to ask you for help.
I decided to change ROM from T-Mobile 1.6 to Mr.Clean 2.24. Reinstal was Ok, i have also reinstalled ActiveSync, deleted old partnership and created new one, started synchronization of Contacts and Callendar, etc...
Everything seemed fine until I realized that not all Contacts and Callendar items synchronized. From Contacts i had synchronized only about half of them...
I found that Contacts with text note or picture and also Callendar items with text note created on PC Outlook won´t sync.
Than I have tried several other ROMs including previous 1.6, several ActiveSync reinstalations, partnership delletions on Vario and PC.... but after all I am not able to sync any Contact or Callendar item with text note. Synchronization looks Ok, but Contacts or Callendar items with text note from PC Outlook are not visible on my Vario.
It´s driving me mad...
Please can somebody help me ? What could go wrong ?
I have installed Pocket Informant 2007 and set it as my PIM, however when I do a soft rest or turn off the phone the contacts page opens before I can type in my SIM card pin code, so I have to close PI Contacts to get at the keypad. This is only a minor irritation, but an irritation all the same, has anyone else come across this and how do I stop it?
Another thing that I would like to sort out is transferring my SIM contact numbers to my PI Contact list. I have numbers on the card that I don't have in the sync-able contacts and I want to update this list without having to retype all the numbers. Any ideas?

Hello,
I noticed that after upgrading, all SIM contacts are also present when
viewing contacts. I also noticed that it is now possible to synchronize
the contacts with the SIM contacts.
Contacts > Menu > SIM Manager > Menu > Tools > Contacts to SIM
Currently, my SIM contacts were added manually on the card.
If I were to remove them all from the SIM, and set "contacts" to
synchronize to the SIM, will the SIM contacts still show up in the
contacts list (or does it know they are synchronised, so it doesn't repeat
them)?
(a downside I see to this is that the SIM contacts can only be 14
characters in length, so the mark for home/mobile/work won't show up for
the majority of contacts; whereas I can force this when managing the SIM
contacts manually)
If they still show up, is there a way to only show contacts present on the
phone (not those on the SIM)? I gather it is possible by adding all
contacts to a group, and filter on this group; but is there an easier way?
Thanks!
Jörg

I remember with HTCustom 1.7 from Shadowmite, you can find here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=307873, you can disable the SIM contacts even exsits on the SIM, so you only see your PDA contacs.
Regards.
Hey VJ,
Before I had my Hermes I always used the SIM contacts. Now I have push e-mail with my company's exchange server I only use my exchange contacts.
I have read a thread of a guy who is selling for 20$ an exchange account on his own server.
Maybe this is an solution for you.
I have past week flashed my device about 6 times. In each case I'm up and running with all my settings in about 5 minutes. And thats because I'm not so fast.........
So the exchange push mail/contacts is working perfect for me!
Regedit this mate (taken from wiki):
Show/Hide Sim Contacts:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Phone]
"ShowSIM"=dword:00000001 ->0 to disable, 1 to enable
The rest of the wiki's reg tweaks are on the same page. http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_Registry Enjoy.
i just installed a htc s620 ROM on my mda mail. but having some weird problems.
1. i configured imap gmail access, but not able to see any content of ebay mails, no text or images, however email from other senders i am able to see html content. i have set the option to download entire message content.
2. No names appear for my contacts when there call comes, i am in India and just see a number with +91 prefix, its not able to compare names from address book properly. how can i change it through registry
3. I bought it from germany hence it has a germany QWERTZ keyboard whereas the type configured in OS is QWERTY, how can i change key mapping to match keyboard letter input and os output.
welcome to the MDA Mail owners club^^
I can help you, at least with the 4th question:
- If you do not depend on the indian as your phone language, i would advice to install the German WM6..it has also English included, is smaller, more stable, and you avoid the key issue...
Ok, but where can i find the option to change incoming call no. compare string in registry..
hey guys, just a simple question, i finally backed my contacts up on my sim card but now they are showing up on the contacts as well as the original contact entry. how do i disable sim contacts from showing up? many thanks.
holla
I had the same issue.. I noticed that on the kaiser advanced config tool, there is an option to "hide contacts". It actually worked a couple of times for me but I eventually just deleted my contacts off of the sims card and started syncing via exchange server or windows PC. You may want to give it a try though. The cab was called "Advanceconfig.cab" If anyone else wants to add something please do. I would be interested in hearing more as well. I was just disappointed that you cannot back up all your information such as E-mail addresses to your sim. That is why I started using Exchange.
shaps advanced config tool has option for you
I belive that is the program that I have used. It is a great all around congig tool in my opinion.
Show SIM Contacts
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Phone" name="ShowSIM
0 = No
1 = Yes
