Has anyone with this unit on Rogers been able to apply new themes? I've tried a few, but can't get them to work.
Now it is possible i'm just doing this wrong, and if so, does anyone have a site with some themes they know will work?
THanks.
M
Are you running the rogers version (s621) or an unlock dash model (s620)?

I have the s621. I'm not sure about unlocking it. I'd like to avoid brickin' it.
copy this file to your phone, and then run it - got this from their website.
That link you posted is to install Root Certificates for self signed or wildcard Security Certs. I work for Rogers and have extensive knowledge of this device, and the problem is that Rogers application locks this device. The only way i could get around this stuff, in order to edit the registry, install unsigned applications (themes included) was to install the T-Mo release of WM6.
Uhm, I don't think that's true. I installed this cab, and used the SDA unlocker, and I can edit the registry, install software, change themes, etc. I don't have the tmobile ROM.

Same here. I just got a Rogers s621 and have been installing everything with no locking issues whatsoever. So Rogers did not application lock the device they sent me.
can anyone with the Rogers HTC s621 post the ROM. I'm trying to enable Name Display feature to work with all cooked roms.
My S621 seemed to have come application unlocked..
I got it just the other day, and installed Facade, and a few other programs.
But its weird, it seems like it was application unlocked for the first...5 programs or something
Got to PocketNester and Mobile Office and it gave me the insufficient permissions error.
I grabbed the SP_AllowCertificateInstall.cab file from this thread, ran it and was able to install Nester and MOffice.
I CID unlocked my T-Mobile Dash I got, Ran the rogers WM6 rom and installed fine.
I coudlent install any applications though and came across this post. Ran the Rogers Cert cab file and then sureal unlocker which auto edits the registry and installing applications perfectly.
This is a awsome find.
Name Display on an unlocked TyTN with Rogers...
. .
Guys,
I need your advise...
I got an unlocked TyTN ROM:3.54.255.3 and Radio: 1.48.00.10 (Non-Rogers); I could not get the Name Display to work on Rogers.
I came accross this thread and I'm wondering what to do?
I'm wondering is there like a cab file that we can run to set the registry for a TyTN?
Can anyone post the link to Rogers WM6 ROM for TyTN?
Thanks

Do you have the Telus Navigator .cab? I am really looking for this. Thanks!
where did u find this cab for TELUS Navigator? can you send me this one?
I Think the Telus Navi work only with Telus dataconnection!! if you dont have that the software will not work right. I once tested the navigator from 1.97 Vodafone rom and it didnt work in my own cookt rom
and i guest that its was because it was made for Vodafone users with Vodafone dataconnections
You are better off installing tom tom or one of the other gps apps. much better than telus navigator, and wont use data!
I would like to install the new Feb 09 ROM from HTC. My Compact IV is from last August and Im just so fed up with the slowness and reception... but I dont want to brick it as I still have a year contract left (thats why never cooked anything) however I feel I could trust the ROM straight from HTC(?) This also seems to pretty straight forward to do.
...but Please let me know
- Is the installer 'PDA Phone ROM Update Utility 3.27.4.3' that comes with it safe to use?
- No need to hardSPL etc.. stuff?
- Will there be any issue as Compact IV is locked to T-Mobile?
Appreciate help... love my compact IV!!
Just to add to my post
I used the S/N in the other thread: ht824gn13492 to download the ROM from HTC. HTC didnt allow to do it with Compact IV's S/N. I hope thats ok... Think the ROM version downloaded is 2.03.405.3.
Thanks
...
I have compact IV too and I am using 2.03 roms (htc and cooked) without problems. You need hardspl to flash these roms (i have olinex 1.93). And I recomend you to flash rom by internal method. Good luck
What do you mean with 'internal method'?
And even if install straight from HTC, still need hardSPL?
Thanks!

Read this about flashing from internal storage.Mainly the second paragraph. And I thing that you need hardspl for any other rom except tmobile stock one.
I hope that will help you
hardspl
Thanks for your help. Just one more question: does your last comment mean T-mobile original ROM doesnt require hardSLP. Or better I install it anyway?
Thanks!!
Yes.Only (Tmobile CZ in my case)stock rom from your mobile operator
copilot
I think I will try install straight the official HTC ROM. I read somewhere else thread if updating official ROm you shouldnt use any HardSPL(?) Im not exp with this, and dont want to risk my phone...
I wonder will this affect the Copilot 7 installed by T-Mobile? i know its on the interanl memory (4GB) but were some parts in the phones memory that will be wiped away? dont want to loose it!!!
you cannot install the Official HTC ROM without HardSPL is what gajdik means.
Because your phone is T-Mobile branded (like mine) you can ONLY install T-Mobile ROMS, all others will fail (even official htc roms), to bypass this you must hardspl
Thanks... understand now.
What about Copilot, will I loose it? (does it have something in registry etc that will disable it, as the ROM is not from T-mobile?)
thanks

Yes this is what i mean
I have preinstaled tomtom 7 by tmobile and it works after rom update. But I am not sure about copilot...
Hi all,
I'm new to all this. I've got hold of the new HTC Rom that I want to put on my Compact IV, but can anyone give me a version of Hard SPL to use?
I can't seem to get any of the versions i've found so far to work!
Thanks in advance!
What version of stock rom do you have? And what versions of hardspl you tried?
I've got 1.37.110.3 WWE (the standard one that came from T-Mobile) and i'm trying to flash 2.03.405.3 (the feb 09 update from the HTC website)
I think i've managed to get the Olinex Hard SPL 1.30 onto the phone, but can't seem to make any progress.
Try upgrade to tmobile stock 1.93 rom and then try 1.93OliNex_HSPL_Unsigned from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2312363&postcount=2
This works for me

Thanks, I skipped the tmobile stock stage and it worked a treat with 1.93olinex and the latest HTC rom. I think you saved my sanity!
your welcome. Now I'ts time to bed for me
Hi all,
Do you guy have Rogers Touch Diamond? I search around on the phone. I cannot find the HSDPA setting on the Connection Tab. It look like for me Rogers hidden the HSDPA and Disabled it. Now, How can I enable the HSDPA? Is there any way I can do it on the registry? I know I can flash the cook rom. The reason I don't want to it. It is becaseu the Rogers ROM comes with "Name Display" supported. After I flashed to a cook rom, I will lost the feature.
HELP HELP HELP.
That's OK... Finally, I flashed with an Official WWE ROM instead of Rogers ROM.
I only lost the CNAP support but it is OK. At least, I can see "H" and download fast.
*** After flashed to Officel WWE ROM, I need to install the CNAP CAB file to enable the Rogers CNAP ***** (search this forum)
The Rogers CAB file works on some version of Radio only. I tested on 1.09.25.23 radio version. This version works fine.
Sprint is replacing my vogue in a day or two and I need to get all my files together. I have all the roms I need except one. After the bell rom to upgrade the radio to 3.42.50 there was a "blue bell removal rom" that got rid of the blue bell splash screen and the blue bell theme. My searches are coming up empty has anyone got it?
vins latest rom replaces the Bell bootscreen with a HTC one.
This should do it for you......

Yeah and although I love Vins rom and the build he is on I need the htc usb to pc popup to work so I am going back to nfsfan's 1.0 rom. Unless one of the other 28014 Roms has usb to pc popup enabled. Anyone know?

yep that is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks.
